Dear KAG: 20200813 Open Thread

Quick author note: many thanks to our host, Wolfm00n, for covering in emergency circumstances. My neck of the woods was sans electricity (we say “power” in these parts, Coothie) about 38 hours following a tree branch falling on the 220 line (it took four splices to put it back together). At this time, the ice maker is productive, and the dogs are no longer panting for being way too hot in the middle of the night. Here’s to a decent night’s sleep…last night I was longing for an old fashioned sleeping porch.

Look out, y’all. I found a new Youtube parody channel:

More of this patriot’s work appears at the bottom of this post. In the meantime…..

All this isolation and idle hands is just inviting…well, this:

Yeah, the virus is smaller than anything coming out of an aerosol can. Some of us actually did pass physics a long time ago. Really, this guy just wanted to play with fire.

Anyway, here is the anti-COVID 19 narrative sing along song.

Bop, bop, bop

Feel free to hold hands, and touch. But, please, wash them afterwards.

As usual, this is the daily thread, the place to put all information that needs to be out there – Q drops, Q drop decodes, riot information, rumors about MAGA rallies starting up again, news flashes, Chy-na flu updates, fashionable mask photos, satire, memes, and of course cute animal videos.

In the meantime, the short and sweet version of “THE RULES” is here borrowed from Tuesday:

Guidelines for posting and discussion on this site were outlined by our host, WolfM00n. Please, review them from time to time.

The discourse on this site is to be CIVIL – no name calling, baiting, or threatening others here is allowed. Those who are so inclined may visit Wolf’s other sanctuary, the U-Tree, to slog it out.

This site is a celebration of the natural rights endowed to humans by our Creator as well as those enshrined in the Bill of Rights adopted in the founding documents of the United States of America. Within the limits of law, how we exercise these rights is part of the freedom of our discussion.

Fellow tree dweller Wheatie gave us some good reminders on the basics of civility in political discourse:

  1. No food fights.
  2. No running with scissors.
  3. If you bring snacks, bring enough for everyone.

Since it is almost the weekend, the reminders are in place to not swing from the chandeliers, wash your hands and face, and be nice to the liberals whether they deserve it or not. Making your bed, OTOH, is optional.

From Psalm 78 (77 in the Douay-Rheims)

[52] And he took away his own people as sheep: and guided them in the wilderness like a flock. [53] And he brought them out in hope, and they feared not: and the sea overwhelmed their enemies. [54] And he brought them into the mountain of his sanctuary: the mountain which his right hand had purchased. And he cast out the Gentiles before them: and by lot divided to them their land by a line of distribution. [55] And he made the tribes of Israel to dwell in their tabernacles.

[56] Yet they tempted, and provoked the most high God: and they kept not his testimonies. [57] And they turned away, and kept not the covenant: even like their fathers they were turned aside as a crooked bow. [58] They provoked him to anger on their hills: and moved him to jealousy with their graven things. [59] God heard, and despised them, and he reduced Israel exceedingly as it were to nothing. [60] And he put away the tabernacle of Silo, his tabernacle where he dwelt among men.

[61] And he delivered their strength into captivity: and their beauty into the hands of the enemy. [62] And he shut up his people under the sword: and he despised his inheritance. [63] Fire consumed their young men: and their maidens were not lamented. [64] Their priests fell by the sword: and their widows did not mourn. [65] And the Lord was awaked as one out of sleep, and like a mighty man that hath been surfeited with wine.

[66] And he smote his enemies on the hinder parts: he put them to an everlasting reproach. [67] And he rejected the tabernacle of Joseph: and chose not the tribe of Ephraim: [68] But he chose the tribe of Juda, mount Sion which he loved. [69] And he built his sanctuary as of unicorns, in the land which he founded for ever. [70] And he chose his servant David, and took him from the flocks of sheep: he brought him from following the ewes great with young,

The number 1 story in the world should be that President @realDonaldTrump just brokered a peace deal between Israel & the United Arab Emirates.

This is worthy of the Nobel Peace Prize.

  1. I’m not sure if we ever had closure on the Gun Grab in New Zealand that took place back in March. As part of side bar discussion I’ve found an America Thinker article that summarizes the incident rather well.
It seems of out of 1.5 million registered gun holders a total of 530 weapons were turned in. As I remember it, and I could be wrong, but it sounded at the time to be the early start of a gun confiscation program that was being rammed through by the government but legal remedy against the action had not yet begun when we heard about it here. Now according to this June article from American Spectator, apparently the action is/was a volunteer gun turn in that failed miserably.

Maybe Kiwi’s can use this issue along with the China Virus / vaccine issues and the cuddling up with China and toss their leftist politicians out of office as in 3 Strikes and Your Out. Perhaps that might even dampen their many new residents (millionaires and billionaires) WEF like globalist ambitions that any of them might be harboring now that they know the vast majority of citizens have kept their weapons.

    1. Didn’t you get the memo?

Leftists are allowed to be whatever they want to be. No rules for them. White can be black, girls can be boys, or any combination they dream up.

For them, truth is an inconvenience. What matters is their “narrative”, which can change to suit any given moment or need.

They are completely untethered to truths and reality.

  2. I know there are others here who enjoy these young men learning about music they’ve never been exposed to. This is precious. Even moreso than the Mamas and the Papas, House of the Rising Sun, and some of the others. American Pie was the name of the plane carrying the Big Bopper, Richie Valens, Buddy Holley, et al, when it went down in a storm. RIP, gentlemen.

    1. Expert: COVID-19 decisions based on potentially misleading statistic

      From the article linked above:

Florida’s COVID-19 daily percent positive rate, a key metric driving economic and public policy decisions, offers a distorted snapshot of the effect the virus is having across the state, according to Rebel Cole, Ph.D., a data scientist with 35 years of experience and a professor of finance in Florida Atlantic University’s College of Business.

Cole believes the “daily rate” reported by the state is misleading because it is highly volatile and based on tests that were conducted during the prior two weeks rather than during the past 24 hours. Because it is an average of tests conducted from one day to two weeks ago, it is not the timely metric that most people assume. The reported rate is further skewed because the state focuses its testing efforts on “hotspots” – areas known to contain high concentrations of positive cases, Cole said.

He offers three ways to remedy these deficiencies. The simplest is to rely upon a “moving average” of the rate over the most recent seven days. This smooths out the variability and makes the trend clearer for policymakers.

He also recommends that state officials wait until they have results for most of the tests administered on a particular day before calculating the daily percent positive rate for that day and that the rate be calculated from a random sampling of people in each county – a technique called surveillance testing – which would better indicate the true prevalence of infection among each county’s population.

      1. I just had a nurse friend send more MORBID CRAP to me about Covid. That they’ve had more positives come back today than at any time in our county. I replied with the TX death rate of .031% and she disputed the numbers.

They are gearing up Texas to close down again, I am telling you. She said “Fall is going to be hell.”

I told her the country has gone insane and I was not going to go along.

      2. I finally got exasperated and QUIT even looking at the GA and FL numbers after months of daily recording them.

They have been shown to be inaccurate, unreliable – even in conservative states like FL and TX.

The numbers are highest in Democrat strongholds in every state. It’s not just dense populations, it’s the fact that the Democrats intentionally allowed/facilitated the spread in the early period – the first month or so.

    1. He talked about arresting the killer of 4yr old Legend Talifarro. Warfare against and disrespect of Cops.. Radical extremists. Barr not worried about political correctness. We need to get story of what happened in 2016-2017 out. If anybody crossed line, violated law, they will be charged. Durham slowed by COVID, satisfied w/progress. Will be significant developments before election, but not doing on election schedule, TOMORROW THERE WILL BE A DEVELOPMENT, not earth shattering. (Did SD win?)
Election integrity, mail in wreckless, playing with fire. Carmen Best situation shouldn’t have happened. Inner cities will be destroyed, liberals will leave for safety. The way out of 2 tiered justice system is not tit for tat, it’s to uphold rule of law.

  4. Got a kick out of seeing this retweet from the President. yesterday.
It’s the meme from a while back where the huge Trump 2020 train rumbles quickly through a town in fly over country blowing its horn, followed by the music starting up, and then Biden as he comes into view pumping one of those rail road hand carts with his campaign signage on it while he starts to talk to himself. It’s at the very end after he’s gone when the scene goes black but for the words Biden Train but then most of those letters hanging there start to swing and then fall. @Som3wicked, the meme maker I presume shows at the very end in small letters and indeed the last words out of Biden’s mouth were indeed wicked “AndI love kids jumping on my lap”.

  6. Reposting this tweet.

SD predicted that this DA brought charges against this cop SOLEY to screw over his political opponent, who he knew was going to shellack him in the primary (he did). The scheme here is that when the charges are dropped, Numbnuts the Loser here will cry foul to the black community…that the charges wouldn’t have been dropped if he was still the DA…(read: the cops lives mean nothing to him)…

By the way they did remove something from my “Conspiratorially Speaking” board.

Based on their “standards” shared above it sounds like they are on the Fauci/Gates/WHO/CCP agenda train & not open to other viewpoints. Sadly this is not too surprising…

  8. Hmmm. Bill Barr says on Hannity that there will be an announcement on Friday from Durham.

AG Bill Barr: I’ve said the American people need to know what actually happened. We need to get the story of what happened in 2016 and 2017 now. That will be done. If people crossed the line if people involved in that activity violated the criminal law they will be charged. And John Durham is an independent man. Highly experienced… As I’ve said there’s going to developments, significant developments before the election… We’re aware of the election. We’re not going to do anything inappropriate before the election… And there will be developments. Tomorrow there will be a development in the case.

    1. That was in April of last year. FTA:

Harris’ father, Stanford University economics professor emeritus Donald Harris, responded in a statement to Jamaica Global Online, arguing his daughter is trafficking in “identity politics.”

“My dear departed grandmothers (whose extraordinary legacy I described in a recent essay on this website), as well as my deceased parents, must be turning in their grave right now to see their family’s name, reputation and proud Jamaican identity being connected, in any way, jokingly or not with the fraudulent stereotype of a pot-smoking joy seeker and in the pursuit of identity politics,” the professor wrote.

Ouch! But the media will let it all slide.
