Dear KAG: 20200806 Open Thread

And now for something completely different.

In honor of vacation season.

As usual, this is the daily thread, the place to put all information that needs to be out there – Q drops, Q drop decodes, riot information, rumors about MAGA rallies starting up again, news flashes, Chy-na flu updates, fashionable mask photos, satire, memes, and of course cute animal videos.

In the meantime, the short and sweet version of “THE RULES” is here borrowed from Tuesday:

Guidelines for posting and discussion on this site were outlined by our host, WolfM00n. Please, review them from time to time.

The discourse on this site is to be CIVIL – no name calling, baiting, or threatening others here is allowed. Those who are so inclined may visit Wolf’s other sanctuary, the U-Tree, to slog it out.

This site is a celebration of the natural rights endowed to humans by our Creator as well as those enshrined in the Bill of Rights adopted in the founding documents of the United States of America. Within the limits of law, how we exercise these rights is part of the freedom of our discussion.

Fellow tree dweller Wheatie gave us some good reminders on the basics of civility in political discourse:

  1. No food fights.
  2. No running with scissors.
  3. If you bring snacks, bring enough for everyone.

Since it is almost the weekend, the reminders are in place to not swing from the chandeliers, wash your hands and face, and be nice to the liberals whether they deserve it or not. Making your bed, OTOH, is optional.

Today is the Feast of the Transfiguration. The Old Testament reading for today comes to us from the Prophet Daniel, Chapter 7.

[9] I beheld till thrones were placed, and the Ancient of days sat: his garment was white as snow, and the hair of his head like clean wool: his throne like flames of fire: the wheels of it like a burning fire. [10] A swift stream of fire issued forth from before him: thousands of thousands ministered to him, and ten thousand times a hundred thousand stood before him: the judgment sat, and the books were opened.

[11] I beheld because of the voice of the great words which that horn spoke: and I saw that the beast was slain, and the body thereof was destroyed, and given to the fire to be burnt: [12] And that the power of the other beasts was taken away: and that times of life were appointed them for a time, and a time. [13] I beheld therefore in the vision of the night, and lo, one like the son of man came with the clouds of heaven, and he came even to the Ancient of days: and they presented him before him. [14] And he gave him power, and glory, and a kingdom: and all peoples, tribes and tongues shall serve him: his power is an everlasting power that shall not be taken away: and his kingdom that shall not be destroyed.

  2. Mayor, Press Attack Faithful California Cleric

San Francisco mayor London Breed and Bay Area media are excoriating Fr. Joseph Illo, pastor of Star of the Sea parish in San Francisco, for encouraging his parishioners to attend Holy Mass — safely — during the California shutdown. Late last week, media source SFist accused Fr. Illo of making “a number of outrageously irresponsible statements that sound like they came from Fox News.”

One statement SFist found “outrageously irresponsible” was the priest’s empirical observation that among the “thousands of people” he knows, only three have tested positive for COVID-19, and all three are doing fine.

Text of three more tweets in this short thread:

Financial supporters of the Global Business Journalism School, which aims to “apply Marxist theory” to journalism, include Bank of America, Bloomberg, consulting giant Deloitte, and the John S. and James L. Knight Foundation.

The university claims the following Western news entities provide “talent, equipment, and internships” as part of a “long history of cooperation” with Chinese Communist Party (CCP)-controlled Tsinghua:

  5. wow…that’s a lot of undeliverable votes!
According to data collected by the Public Interest Legal Foundation (PILF) from the Clark County Election Department, a total of 223,469 mail-in ballots sent to registered voters for the June 9 primary election ended up bouncing as “undeliverable” — 17 percent of the total 1,325,934 mail-in ballots that were sent out in the county.

“These numbers show how vote by mail fails,” PILF President J. Christian Adams said in a statement, adding:

New proponents of mail balloting don’t often understand how it actually works. States like Oregon and Washington spent many years building their mail voting systems and are notably aggressive with voter list maintenance efforts. Pride in their own systems does not somehow transfer across state lines. Nevada, New York, and others are not and will not be ready for November.

For comparison, in the 2012, 2014, 2016, and 2018 general elections, the entire state of Nevada recorded just 5,863 mail-in ballots as “undeliverable.” That data comes from U.S. Election Assistance Commission surveys.

  6. article states the little Fascist has ties to Clinton and Gates–10 yrs ago Gates gave him money for global vaccine research–but just last yr, he gave the NIH 100 million for HIV research.
But this isn’t Dr. Fauci’s only connection to Bill Gates. In October, 2019, The American Journal of Managed Care reported that the Bill and Melinda Gates Foundation donated 100 million dollars the National Institute of Health. But, according to the article:

The Gates Foundation and the National Institute of Allergy and Infectious Diseases (NIAID), a part of the NIH, are both currently exploring gene-based treatments for HIV, together with other therapies, and they noted that this collaboration will allow them to intensify their research, coordinate on their efforts, and accelerate studies into early clinical trials to test promising interventions.

“This collaboration is an ambitious step forward, harnessing the most cutting-edge scientific tools and NIH’s sizable global HIV research infrastructure to one day deliver a cure and end the global HIV pandemic,” said NIAID director Anthony S. Fauci, MD, in a statement announcing the initiative. “We are taking into account those with the greatest need at the foundation of this effort, to ensure that, if realized, this exceptional public health achievement will be made accessible to all.”

So, it appears Dr. Fauci and Bill Gates have been best buddies for many years, and they are both in on a global vaccination plan that will come to fruition in 2020. These are the same people funding and pushing the ModeRNA Coronavirus vaccine that failed miserably but is somehow in Phase III clinical trials. But even Bill Gates himself stated he wants this vaccine to be universal so the lockdowns will end. Ths vaccine that could potentially cause serious injuries to 1.5 BILLION PEOPLE if it is continued to be steamrolled through despite its horrible success thus far.

The government doesn’t have the power to shut down a political organization if it bilks its members. The political parties take money and misuse it and fail to deliver on their promises constantly, can the government shut them down? No. This is gleichshaltung BS plain and simple. The NRA won’t be controlled politically by commissars so it must be destroyed.

Make the indictment, try you case in a court of law – and STFU.

And PS: Stop violation US citizens Constitutional rights and protections by trying to make case your launder-list of bald-face unproven accusations in the public form and depriving a US citizen of his to even confront real sworn witnesses under penalty of perjury, much less your BS frigging hearsay, behind your veil of immunity.

So BLM does the same thing. Where’s the legal action against them ****ress?

I don’t really care about NRA internal politics other than every director and board member be relentless on 2A, smart as a whip, understand controlled opposition, and continue the effectiveness of the organization. I seriously tune out the fights there to avoid being distracted on the big picture defense of 2A.

I miss the old AM Radio, and commercials. I used to be able to DX (distance reception) stations from thousands of miles away at night; driving up the (left) coast from LA, I’ve actually picked up Hawaii…

But the commercials, the commercials. With Ronnie Schell and other comedians and comedy acts, were both creative and hilarious. One had a car dealer getting in touch with his “inner salesman”, getting a customer to chant “Pay more, get less, pay more, get less…”. I used to listen to A’s, Raiders, 49ers, Giants, Earthquakes, Warriors, Stanford and other games on AM, and they all had some of these commercials. I just wish there was a museum with some of them.

One time there was an ad for Korbel Champagne, and the snotty/snarky partygoer was complaining, saying he’d just as soon slum and drink some Charles Krug or something. Left unsaid, of course, was the fact that Charles Krug and Korbel were both part of the same company…

Ahh, those were the days. Oakland Airport changed their main number, and had a (supposedly) stuttering announcer give it out.

    1. OMG. Somebody nailed DeWine with the virus – 3 to 5 days ago. Politically useful for the left (I know, because having it has strong psychological downstream effects). Isn’t that about the timeframe in which he forced back-off on the HCQ ban?

How long has Trump’s trip to Ohio been known?

Hope DeWine considers HCQ. He can talk with POTUS about it!

Bolsonaro, POTUS, Gohmert – a POSITIVE test is a big GO sign to get ready to take the drug, if not just going for it. The reason? The initial lung damage can be SNEAKY. I know this from my own case! The damage to lungs can vastly outweigh the symptoms felt by the patient.

        1. The only thing that seemed off to me.. was the hours for sun, they needing to be mid day for proper D3 absorption… wonders if that’s being his intended audience is dark skinned,. Seems so and practically any hour would suffice for those of fairer skin.

His talk about tanning beds also makes me think DeBlasio may of known something early on, as at least a couple years in advance as he went to war against tanning salons when he first came into office by raising their taxes and trying to force them out of business. But that would be an extreme theory. Still it’s there.

Lastly the good doctor does have a profit motive. Extensive Vitamin shop set up if you follow the links to the end. But such should be excusable. Still would be more proper if he had his food charts set up toward which vitamin’s they support..

          1. Without having watched the video, I will comment on vitamin D. The world’s leading researcher on it, says north of Atlanta, between April 1 and September 30, to get about 15 minutes of sunlight WITHOUT sunscreen between 10 am or so, and 3:30 pm on arms and legs at least for vitamin D absorption. It’s the UVB rays you need. Just be sure your shadow is less long than you. Excess D3 produced will be stored in your body fat.

Salmon is about the only natural food that has D3. Supplement if you have to. It’s in my multi-vitamin, but not extreme amounts.

I won’t do tanning beds. I have a friend who had melanoma and she was a tanning bed user in addition to the sun. She blames the sun. I blame the tanning bed.

          2. I had a significant realization about vitamin D a few of years ago.

I live in Montana, which is pretty far north. I had a vitamin D test come out low, which surprised me, because I am out in the garden A LOT.

Then this happened. I bought these two orphan plants at the end of the garden season. I didn’t know a thing about them, really, just that I had a “hole” to fill in my garden. The spot receives “full sun,” about 7 hours a day.

The plants grew like crazy, which was great! They are just gorgeous, better than any others I’ve seen growing around here. Then I had a very experienced gardener tell me they need SHADE. Full shade. Yeah, right.

So I figure here in Montana, the angle of the sun is low enough in the sky that even at midday, we are not getting the “full dose” of vitamin D. I take 10,000 a day in summer, and 15,000 a day in winter. I feel awesome, and my blood work number is PERFECT for D.

Had no idea, this is why I struggle w/masks, the few times I’ve worn them. After about 10 minutes, I get short of breath and start yawning uncontrollably, which is a sign of lack of oxygen. Takes me over an hour of cool air to finally return to normal.

I was shocked to see this and anemia listed as a co-morbidities the other day. Researched, both conditions weaken lungs. Makes sense that COVID would wreak havoc in these circumstances.

        1. I have Hashimoto’s which is exactly why I do not wear a mask. But, rather than wearing a big tag on my chest about “medical condition” or risk having hot coffee thrown at me….I choose to just lay low until the madness has lessened. I have that luxury and am okay with my decision.

          Liked by 6 people

          1. Once the sob/yawns start, the mask is off. I dare someone to approach me. As soon as they do I’m going to ask for oxygen. Since Abbott ordered mandatory masks, I’ve cremated myself 2X in stores not knowing why. Now I’m back to ordering online and sparse quick in&out trips for fresh food. No WM, Sams, Costco or packed grocery stores w/long lines.
This could also explain why some have lingering damage from COVID.

            Liked by 5 people

              1. Not sure. They’ve put it on businesses to require the masks. Some let it slide. Depends on what business and what part of town you’re in also. Further north, Montgomery County actually filed a lawsuit against Abbott’s order. Restaurants have regular menus and condiments on the tables and no limits on tables. Abbott’s order actually says that Police can’t detain, fine, or lock you up. So the problem would ultimately be with business owners and Karens.

Other infectious diseases take back seat to COVID-19
Tuberculosis kills more people worldwide than any other infectious disease, and global progress to halt the spread of not only TB but also HIV and malaria has been impeded by shutdowns, stay-at-home orders and reallocation of resources to slow the coronavirus pandemic. People with any of the three diseases have reported difficulty in obtaining treatment, and the Global Fund warns that mitigating the damage of delayed treatment, diagnosis and research will cost at least $28.5 billion.

    1. He sure doesn’t know his science!

I have read a while ago, there is a bigger genetic difference among Africans than there is between Whites and Blacks.

Genetic Variation and Adaptation in Africa

…African populations have high levels of genetic and phenotypic diversity. Thus, genomic studies of diverse African ethnic groups are essential for understanding human evolutionary history and how this leads to differential disease risk in all humans….

African populations also have the highest levels of genetic and phenotypic variation among all humans. This variation is informative for characterizing demographic history in Africa, including times when populations increased in size, contracted, migrated, or when admixture between them occurred….

  15. Apropos about nothing…..has anyone heard from NYGuy, missing from this site for several months now. Got to thinking of him while doing some prep work in the kitchen, wondering what his take on the NY mess would be.
A few years ago, we were on a group tour of the Western national parks and became friendly with a couple who lived in NYC. She was an opera singer and he was a “career consultant.“ …lived the good life (things like flying to Romania for a weekend to go to a famous spa …impressed the heck out of me at the time 😆). Of course, uber- liberals that loved Warren W.
I imagine the $$$ isn’t rolling in for them right now and perhaps there has been a lifestyle “adjustment”….and just maybe they aren’t quite as enthused about Warren these days.

Hydroxychloroquine regimens raise death risk in cancer
Use of hydroxychloroquine with other therapies, but not hydroxychloroquine use alone, had a significant association with elevated 30-day all-cause mortality risk for individuals with cancer and confirmed COVID-19 diagnosis, and while remdesivir treatment correlated with reduced death risk, it was not statistically significant, according to a study in Cancer Discovery. “These findings are now corroborated by multiple prospective trials failing to show a benefit to hydroxychloroquine, which should no longer be used to treat COVID-19,” said researcher Dr. Jeremy Warner

    Full article–

So Hydroxychloroquine used for over 50 yrs could increase the dying from cancer. Reading the whole article, was that the study was done in patients already having cancer and 30 day mortality. More scaring off people from a treatment for Covid.

    1. I never trust the word “study” …………………………….

There’s usually bias there. Definitely DON’T consider this “study” reliable. Certainly not in light of reports that HCQ can cure some cancers.

  17. ffs…this man thinks he is the be-all, end-all of EVERYTHING. he needs to go away.
Billionaire Bill Gates said the pain of the coronavirus pandemic could be extended over a longer period of time if the United States doesn’t treat climate change with the “same sense of urgency.”

The Microsoft co-founder wrote on his blog:

“If you want to understand the kind of damage that climate change will inflict, look at COVID-19, and spread the pain out over a much longer period of time.”

“The loss of life and economic misery caused by this pandemic are on par with what will happen regularly if we do not eliminate the world’s carbon emissions.”

Gates predicted the death toll from climate change would match that of the coronavirus by 2060, and exceed it fivefold by 2100.

  19. IODINE

The big problem is iodized salt is NOT used in fast food or ‘quick’ grocery store ready to micro-zot food. Also Iodine was taken out of bread and Bromine used instead.

Iodine Deficiency — An Old Epidemic Is Back

….Until recently, about 25 percent of the iodine in the diet was from wheat, because iodine was used in the processing of flour. Now, however, a lot of flour in the U.S. is processed with a chemical cousin of iodine, bromide (potassium bromate), which helps makes flour doughier, rise higher, and gives the loaf a better appearance. [This means it MAY NOT BE LISTED…]

But bromide is a double-edged sword: not only has it replaced iodine, but it may also block the activity of iodine. That’s also true for two more of iodine’s chemical cousins — chlorine and fluoride, both of which are common in drinking water.

There’s another problem with bromide. The International Agency for Research on Cancer classified potassium bromate as a Class 2B carcinogen, and it was banned in the U.K. in 1990 and in Canada in 1994. It’s still legal in the U.S…..

    8. Current Status of and Recommendations for Iodine Nutrition
Levels of urinary iodine cannot be used to determine iodine status in an individual, given the day-to-day variation in dietary iodine intake. Median urinary iodine levels are used instead and reflect dietary iodine sufficiency across populations [5]. In the U.S., data from large population studies have shown that median urinary iodine levels decreased by approximately 50% between the early 1970s and the early 1990s, although the population overall remained iodine sufficient [24]. Subsequent studies have shown that this decrease has stabilized [25,26,27], although some subsets of the population, in particular pregnant women and women of childbearing age, may be at risk for mild to moderate iodine deficiency.

I started taking iodine about that time frame and it was like rocket fuel! If I get lazy and don’t take it I want an afternoon nap.

      1. Yeah, I’m a Kosher salt person. We get iodine in foods like salt water fish, whole milk products as it is used on the udders and survives pasteurization, eggs, and potatoes with the skins.

With salt, once you’ve gone Kosher, there’s no going back.

“Democratic Illinois State Representative, Keith Farnham, has resigned and was charged with possession of child pornography and has been accused of bragging at an online site about sexually molesting a 6-year-old girl.”
