Quick note: for today, please address all issues with DA BIN and such to Wolf. Thanks.

And now for some fear porn instructions. How to be afraid…it’s an art.

This popped into my feed at just the right time. Yep, music is a universal language.

And a reminder to take the pledge:

“I do solemnly swear (or affirm) that I will support and defend the Constitution of the United States against all enemies, foreign and domestic; that I will bear true faith and allegiance to the same; that I take this obligation freely, without any mental reservation or purpose of evasion; and that I will well and faithfully discharge the duties of the office on which I am about to enter: So help me God.”

And now for the nitty gritty of the Q Tree 5 minute, stand up, Tuesday morning meeting version of the Daily Thread.

Guidelines for posting and discussion on this site were outlined by our host, WolfM00n. Please, review them from time to time.

The discourse on this site is to be CIVIL – no name calling, baiting, or threatening others here is allowed. Those who are so inclined may visit Wolf’s other sanctuary, the U-Tree, to slog it out with anyone who happens to still be hanging out there.

This site is a celebration of the natural rights endowed to humans by our Creator as well as those enshrined in the Bill of Rights adopted in the founding documents of the United States of America. Within the limits of law, how we exercise these rights is part of the freedom of our discussion.

Fellow tree dweller Wheatie gave us some good reminders on the basics of civility in political discourse:

  1. No food fights.
  2. No running with scissors.
  3. If you bring snacks, bring enough for everyone.

From SUNDAY’s Mass readings. The Prophet Isaiah, Chapter 55, verses 1-3.

Thus says the LORD:
All you who are thirsty,
come to the water!
You who have no money,
come, receive grain and eat;
Come, without paying and without cost,
drink wine and milk!
Why spend your money for what is not bread;
your wages for what fails to satisfy?
Heed me, and you shall eat well,
you shall delight in rich fare.
Come to me heedfully,
listen, that you may have life.
I will renew with you the everlasting covenant,
the benefits assured to David.

As always, prayers for the fight against that which seeks to enslave us are welcome. Via con Dios.

    — Jonathan Turley (@JonathanTurley) August 4, 2020

here is his overview listed in the tweet:

The protests in the aftermath of the killing of George Floyd have served to focus the nation on the transcendent issues of racial discrimination and police misconduct. It is an important moment, as we deal with the continuing scourge of racism, to achieve the promise of equal opportunity and equal treatment in our country. We cannot let this moment pass for a national dialogue on racial justice.

That dialogue, however, is increasingly turning into a diatribe on our campuses, on our streets, and in our media. We are losing this opportunity to reach a consensus because of rising violence and intolerance for opposing views. If we are to come together as a nation, we have to be able to speak to one another freely and without fear. That is not occurring due to the campaigns of intimidation and retaliation against those with dissenting views.

Recently, the federal government arrested George Washington University student Jason Charter as the alleged “ringleader” who led efforts to topple statues in Washington, D.C., including the nearly successful effort to destroy the historic Andrew Jackson statue near the White House. Charter has been an active Antifa member on our campus for years, and, after his arrest, reportedly proclaimed “The Movement is winning.”

He is right. A visit to virtually any college or university will expose that success. In my three decades of teaching, I have never seen the level of fear and intimidation that we have today on our campuses. Many professors are afraid to voice dissenting views of the current protests or other issues out of fear that they could be accused of racism or even physically attacked. Some professors have indeed been assaulted or required police protection after voicing opposing views. To put it simply, Antifa and these other extremist groups are winning, and few people seem to be taking notice.

They are winning because universities are now effectively blocking conservative or opposing speakers to avoid violent clashes.

They are winning because the media and politicians downplay such violence to avoid criticism.

They are winning because local officials are ordering police to stand down or prosecutors to drop charges to avoid further conflict.

They are winning because free speech itself is being viewed as a destabilizing factor in our schools and society.

Antifa has achieved its anti-free speech agenda to a degree that even longtime critics never imagined possible. It only took inaction from our government and silence from our citizens.

I would like to briefly describe the agenda of Antifa and its history of violence in our country, including how recent violence fits into its militant philosophy. I would then like to suggest ways for the federal government to fill a vacuum left from the inaction of local and academic leaders in dealing with attacks on the rights of free speech and peaceful assembly. It is by no means an easy task since government enforcement itself can also chill free speech and free association rights. However, threats against free speech have reached a critical mass, from our schools to our streets. We can either act or remain passive pedestrians to what inevitably comes next.

Hogg is an errand boy of subversion. Thumbs down

Here are those screencaps of the Hogg tweets:

There are two tweets from young Democrat nozzle, David Hogg.

In one tweet…he talks about how TikTok is spyware of the Chinese government, which is guilty of atrocities and human rights abuses…and says “Cancel TikTok”.

In the other tweet from four months later…he implies that Pres Trump is banning it because he is afraid of teenagers voting him out…and that it is a main platform for teenagers to communicate.

Steven King tweeted out a picture of a terrified child being held by two adults in creepy Rabbit costumes.
    The text reads:
    Mars needs children.

Here is a Thread Reader of a thread that was done about Stephen King’s tweet and what it could mean:

Pedos frequently use animal costumes to dress up in when they molest children.
That way they can come back later and ‘comfort’ their victims, without the victims knowing it was them.

They apparently like to use Rabbit costumes.
Probably because the symbolism appeals to their twisted minds.

The pedos like to take pictures of the terrified children, while being held by their costumed predators.

A day of reckoning is coming for these monsters.
They will be punished for what they’ve done!

    Liked by 18 people

      1. Yep.
That Thread Reader goes into why King used “Mars” and what it refers to.

        Basically = conquest, animal urges.

Also, ‘going to Mars’ is used as slang for getting high, getting a fix.

So he’s saying that he needs a ‘fix’ of children.

  4. We had an interesting happening in SH. Covid hit 50 more ne cases over the weekend.
Two 6130 Hercules big transport planes landed on our Portsmouth Airport. That is a big deal they flew very low.
I am wondering what were they dropping off? They could have been Air Force or Air Guard.

My short get away was interesting and renewing. Funny when away from all electronic tinker toys one can see clearly and that is refreshing.

I observed two couples speaking at a dinner table that they are voting for Trump. They were not shy about it.
Some of my friends the regulars were not shy either and no one wants to buy Chinese crap.

There was a mask rule that was very bearable. We needed a mask to enter the building then could take it off after seated in the restaurant . The mask thing was respectable but very loose requirement.
No mask walking outside. I had no problem with the mask rule because it was not restrictive.
We opted not to have the room serviced so not to have people in the room.

My dogs were at their spa kennel on the Farm were they were trained. The owner told me she was diagnosed with vitamin D poisoning. She will retire in October.
The covid has taken its toll on even dog kennels and dog trainers because no one goes anywhere and no one has their dogs trained.
The effect of this Chinese virus will be felt long after it is under control. People who built their businesses of all kind
will be out of business for ever.
Glad to be back home is still the best place and good to see all is well at the QTree 🙂

Where are the mothers of those kids? I believe it is the mother who is the protector of innocent life.
In the animal kingdom again it is the female. I know someone had to kill me to get to my kids when they were young.
Sometimes children are scared to sit on Santa’s lap or Easter Bunny. I never understood to force a child. I have seen kids scream and parents wanted that photo regardless.

Agents observed the driver jump into the Rio Grande and swim to Mexico. Back at the F-250, agents apprehended five people who were observed loading the truck. All were found to be in the United States illegally, according to law enforcement sources.

The vehicle was reportedly registered to CMF Leasing in Fort Worth, Texas. Identifying decals on the truck promoted Southwest Valley Constructors (SWVC), a firm holding a contract to build a border wall system.

The investigation also found that the driver was identified as a resident of Roma who worked for SWVC, according to Border Patrol agents.

Law enforcement sources also revealed to Breitbart Texas that the driver has a history for prior smuggling activity—details that would have been visible on a criminal background check.

On May 28, 2019, U.S. Customs and Border Protection (CBP), in partnership with the U.S. Army Corps of Engineers (USACE), awarded a contract to construct approximately three miles of new bollard wall system on federally owned land within the Rio Grande Valley Sector.

      Cannabinoids as novel anti-inflammatory drugs

      Cannabinoids and multiple sclerosis

The three main cell types that are involved in demyelination of the nerve fibers and axons in the CNS include activated T-cells, microglia and astrocytes. In activated T-cells, treatment with WIN 55,212-12, AEA and JWH-015 has been shown to inhibit cytokine production, infiltration of cells into the spinal cord and in vitro recall response to myelin oligodendrocyte glycoprotein by T-cells. Cannabinoids also inhibit the antigen presenting abilities of microglia by downregulating MHCII expression, costimulatory molecule CD40 expression, as well as cytokine secretion. Astrocytes, the major cell population in the brain, are also affected, as cannabinoid binding to the receptors leads to inhibition of inflammatory molecules, such as nitric oxide, cytokines and chemokines. In addition, anandamide binding leads to secretion of neural growth factor secretion and protection of the neurons in the CNS….

I’m always amused by the technique where they claim that “Conspiracy Theory A” believes in seven false things — two of which are ridiculous and don’t belong to that group, two were briefly considered — but ultimately rejected — by that group, one of which is just a bizarre slur that has nothing to do with anything, and two things are things we know to be true.
