Waiting with Patience

February 23, 2018 by Pastor Chuck Swindoll
Scriptures: Psalm 26:9–12

As David concludes his song about the grinding pain of unjust treatment and his chosen responses, he then commits to patience.

Resolved: I will patiently stand and wait for relief.

Do not take my soul away along with sinners,
Nor my life with men of bloodshed,
In whose hands is a wicked scheme,
And whose right hand is full of bribes.
But as for me, I shall walk in my integrity;
Redeem me, and be gracious to me.
My foot stands on a level place;
In the congregations I shall bless the LORD. (Psalm 26:9–12)

There is something about human nature that prompts us to jump in with both feet and quickly work things out. In this section of his song, David implies that such was the activity of those around him. The majority said that they “wouldn’t stand for such a thing.” All sorts of “wicked schemes” and hands “full of bribes” were implemented by others. Not David! He set himself apart with the phrase “but as for me.” In Hebrew, the pronoun is extremely emphatic: “But me . . . as for me!”

He wanted it known that, unlike the majority, he wasn’t going to panic and get all involved in those carnal anxieties and ulcer-producing activities of self-vindication. No way! What does he say? “I shall walk in my integrity.” And he calls upon God to act on his behalf.

There’s a calmness, a quiet confidence in those words.

  • As for my present course: “I . . . walk in integrity.”
  • As for my defense: “Redeem me . . . be gracious to me.”
  • As for my inner feelings: “My foot stands.”

What stability! What admirable patience! What assurance and faith! No sleepless nights, no struggling doubts—just patient waiting.

Look back at that term “redeem.” The Hebrew is padah, meaning “to ransom, deliver.” It is a term of relief—as if in exile. It is the idea of delivering someone from terrible stress and even death. And don’t miss that intriguing phrase in verse 12: “My foot stands on a level place.” The phrase “level place” comes from a single Hebrew term, mishore, which can be traced back to the verb yashar, meaning “to be smooth, straight.” The first term mishore means “level country, a plain.” It conveys the idea of a place that has a high, commanding view, a broad range of vision in contrast to a place that is down in a deep gorge all shut in.

Do you get the picture? David is pleased to wait quietly on the Lord and remain objective. When he waits for God to deliver him, he maintains a panoramic perspective; he is able to look upon the entire process from God’s viewpoint, not from his own limited human perspective. In brief, he is able to maintain wisdom.

You can anticipate the application. When we patiently wait on the Lord’s deliverance, we are able to stay calm, objective, and wise in the midst of mistreatment. We can count on our Lord to be gracious and to deliver us at the right time. All the while, waiting enables us to maintain His perspective.

Look back over David’s six resolutions that will help make mistreatment bearable:

  1. I will be open before the Lord.
  2. I will remember His love . . . continue to obey His Word.
  3. I will refuse the temptation to get even.
  4. I will maintain a positive attitude.
  5. I will be faithful in public worship.
  6. I will patiently stand, stay objective, and wait for relief.

    1. Check to see if you can weed out cookies and files. If I don’t do this on my older mac laptop whenever I surf around, it interferes with QTH and everything else. Wikipedia and Zerohedge and other sites can put 50-80 different cookies on your computer.

I also scrub all the cookies/files when I go to check bank account, pay bills and between every bill account, so there is no chance of spying on my passwords and accounts.

Additionally, I do not weigh my computer down with extras like music, movies, shortcuts on the screen, etc.

      1. The latter sorts of things shouldn’t be an issue until/unless your storage gets close to full–at least as long as you’re not playing the music or video while trying to do something else. They won’t bog down your processor just sitting there, any more than a vinyl record will increase your electric bill while it’s sitting in its cardboard jacket.

Many file systems degrade noticeably when the disk (or SSD) is close to full, which is why I put the qualifier in. At that point you need more space, or use the “trashcan.”

  1. It’s going to be a great Sunday. Carl, Thanks for the Sunday intro.

Off the wall thought regarding the coin shortage nonsense.

OK, stores don’t want to make change. Don’t. Round the bill down to the nearest dollar. $10.45 is rounded down to $10. $19.95 is rounded down to $19.
    – Why should the customer pay for the store’s inability to make change?

Hope President Trump gets wind of this nonsense. Tells his folks, INCREASE COIN circulation. Make coins faster.
    Stop destroying old coins.

    Beyond ridiculous.

    1. I get that it is inconvenient but it’s not like the change disappears. They just put it on your store loyalty card.

So I’m not understanding the intensity of the squawking. Unless some people are just auditioning to be undercover protesters.

      1. It’s nonsense conditioning. IMO.

Have not looked at the details. So the change thing automatically goes on my “loyalty card” IF I have one. Becomes a credit next time I am in the store?

In Famous Footwear today. Exact cash, credit or debit. Hmmm, loyalty card won’t work there. They have a like system, but, I buy shoes once a year. Yea, wife more frequently 🙂

Five Guys last week. No cash period.

Fundamentally, the no coin thing is just another BS conditioning tactic. IIRC, Sadie nailed it on yesterdays thread…lock down, masks, social distancing, riots, slow opening, some states reversing opening…

        It IS all wrong.

Scott pulled up a series of clear linkage to Alinsky tactics.

It all really needs to stop.

  2. Perfectly timed post, Carl.

I have been struggling with what to do about my brother. A few weeks ago he told me that (1) he had never before heard the term “virtue signaling” 😏…yeah right… (2) that communism was compatible with christianity 😳😮, and (3) that America does, in fact, suffer from “systemic racism”😡.

This, from a guy who grew up in a pro-actively christian, conservative household who today claims to be a republican and a christian.

I believe he has been deceived and socially programmed, as he has lived his entire life on the SF peninsula surrounded by the borg (and all that entails).

He now says he wants to be in a friendship with me where we don’t discuss events of the day. To me, that’s like not discussing the state of the war during WWII.

    I want to tell him…

      1. I want to ask him if he’s knelt in front of black people and apologized for all the slaves he’s never owned.

        I haven’t done that.

In fact, I haven’t said a word to him since I hung up on him in disgust after he attempted to pass all that BS off onto me.

        1. FG&C – I am so sorry – families are so important that it is extra hard when we don’t get along with one another. Unfortunately, the programming in these lefty lunatic communities is very hard to combat. I know of another brother duo that is in your exact same situation – both born in Idaho – conservative Christian families – but the one who moved to Seattle is now a raging Hillary, LGBTQ, big government supporting socialist. The other one has spent his life and career in Utah. They don’t speak at all – it is just too difficult for them. I don’t know what the solution is.

          1. The nearest solution is to break the back of the MCM. They are the ones that are destroying friendships and famlies with their LIES. The FAKE NEWS has to be broken, humiliated, and made a mockery of. Once people are free of the CCP controlled version of reality it will change everything.

              1. Sorry that’s one of the QTree acronyms going a ways back. It means “Mind Control Media” rather than MSM “Main-stream Media” which is many things but not “main-stream”. Main-streaming is almost always a form of the bandwagon fallacy.

            1. I just spoke with a friend today about that. She is in the red pill stage, probably two thirds there, but she tends to still believe news reports out of China, etc.

I told her she can no longer afford to trust any msm news stories. It set her on her heels, but she is a Trump supporter.

            2. And that’s the trick.

So long as a plurality of our population gets its news from that source (it looks like several sources, but isn’t), we cannot turn this around; we will have two Americas, and one of them is implacably hostile to what America is actually all about.

^^^ All to common these days. One of six here. Many years little to no contact. When it has happened, it is really meaningless stuff. Won’t yield to their liberal drivel and they don’t want to hear my conservative Nationalist views.

The five of them, last I heard ardent anti gun. Three CA, one Henderson, NV and one Chicago suberb.
Wonder how they feel these days about all the BLM / Antifa BS going on. Who is going to protect them. Certainly not the police. Kneel before the thugs and hope the thugs don’t deliver a beating, I guess.

Dumbasses know I am staunch 2A. May own a gun or two. They have never called to inquire about buying a gun, training, etc. Guess sheep will be sheep. Sad.

Michael has clearly articulated the problem with the MCM…destroying families, friends…America with 24/7 lies. At some point MCM needs to be held accountable. Maybe something will happen in August, September, October.

And toss in criminals owning and managing social media – TW, FB, YT… Assholes need to be reigned in. Punished for censoring.

You might consider taking him up on his offer, for the simple reason that events are going to overtake his (and everyone else’s) denial in the not too distant future, and when that happens, it will be a good thing that you are be able to explain what’s happening, and why.

Best case scenario, he wakes up, and you gain your brother back. 👍

    1. We should be very careful with the term “systemic racism”

But there is one sense in which I feel it is the right term

Systemic Racism in the form of Institutional Corruption

All these D party “blue” cities/counties/states are the perfect incubator for policies that disproportionately disadvantage minorities.

Chicago. Baltimore. New York City. Detroit. Los Angeles. San Francisco. Miami.

There is also one other form of “systemic racism”.

The one man who as AG has done more to set back Black Americans than any other AG in American history.

        1. There’s been plenty of systemic racism since before the Civil War — all perpetuated by Democrats.

What party did all the secessionists belong to?

What party did Frederick Douglass support?

What party did Rev. Dr. Martin Luther King, jr. support? James Earl Ray, his assassin, had been a big supporter of the George Wallace Presidential campaign — what party was George Wallace?

Bull Connor was famous for setting fire hoses and police dogs on civil rights protestors in Birmingham. What party did he support?

Jefferson Davis, President of the Confederate States of America…..what party did he belong to?

There’s a hundred and fifty years of systemic racism baked into today’s cake…..all from Democrats. They need to pull statues down so that nobody will remember the specific individuals involved and their political affiliation. That way they can blame it on some amorphous free-floating anxiety associated with “orange man bad.”

of course, the five most racist presidents in US history were all Democrats as well. Woodrow Wilson, who was one of these, gave the first public viewing of a film in the White House, which was produced by the KKK.

    2. FG&C, Your summation of interacting with your brother is precious. Simply cracking up. Not at you. With you.
The ironies of the thoughts, individually and collectively. Quite similar with the relationship between my sister and I. We disagree on virtually everything. She’s a CA liberal, go with the flow… Figures I am simply out to lunch. Which I probably am, too often. OK, with it though. She says she wants to be close, get together often…but no discussion of current events.

Video clip, “Sell Crazy Someplace Else” was perfect. 🙂

      1. Well, I wish I could laugh about it. Truth is it’s a sad story.

He raised his kids there, and they ARE liberals. And rather risking his relationship with them, he has obviously bought into the leftist bullshit “for the sake of family unity and cohesiveness”. Which, of course, isn’t biblical and jeopardizes not only his children but our Republic.

        1. FG&C – yes, I agree. It isn’t very funny when you look at the long term ramifications of the effects of downstream brainwashing, or in his case maybe upstream? I guess the question here is why didn’t your brother stop the indoctrination of his littles before it was too late? The future of our country is at stake. Maybe if things get bad enough, he and his family will come around. Your greatest gift would be to act as a good example for them….

        2. Looking back, it is frightening how close I came to being miseducated by the public schools of California. My sister got a significant bunch of indoctrination, but got slightly squared back up by going to California Lutheran University.

If your brother sent his kids to public schools, they’re not entirely his kids any more.

        3. Your comment about buying into liberal think because of family hit home, FG&C. I have an uncle with whom my relationship is now distant because of his youngest daughter’s uber, pink hat activism (lives in DC). She’s become a bully and doesn’t hesitate to tell you off. She and her husband were huge Obama supporters. He did a 180 degree turn around from his previous stance.
Truthfully, good or bad, I have a problem trying to maintain a close relationship under false pretenses. I do not react well to people, even family, telling me what I can talk or write about. THEY do not get to control the conversation. For me, I still maintain a relationship but in conditions I feel comfortable and do not compromise my own values.

        4. I’m so very sorrry, FGandC, it’s very sad and painful. I have family and friends with whom I have to avoid mention of Trump or anything related, and I’ve had to bite my tongue when ugly remarks were made. Almost every Trump supporter seems to have brother/sister/close friend/ Etc. with home there is this strain, or in some cases not even speaking.

          1. Libs and dems yell and scream at reps. Most take or ignore it. Really if you look at it they are bullies. How do you red pill a bully? Do you want to red plll a bully?

    3. It’s not easy, that’s for sure. My sister works in academia, although she is now a work from home person until further notice, and while she is conservative and not leftist, she WILL NOT entertain that there is a deep state. She just won’t. For her, 9-11 is still jet fuel brought down the twin towers. She’s very much into K-pop, and other superficial stuff like that for entertainment. She blathers on about that crap, and I just tune it out.

We don’t talk about the rough stuff unless it’s about our parents and their well being. For that, aging parents who are pretty stubborn and both have strong personalities, we need each other. We get that. So, in order to red pill her, I have to wait until she sees things for herself. This has been a pattern that’s played out a lot in the last twenty years. There was one weekend I didn’t want to go out to a relative’s place for the day, and I had my reasons, and she thought I was being awful. Three weeks later, she and my mom came back from out there, and she said, “You weren’t kidding. All they talk about is cancer, death and the cost of living.” I had actually said, birth, death and the cost of living, but she had to come to that conclusion herself.

      It’s rough, I know.

  3. So, I’ve been binging Fagin and Steely Dan, and I encountered this anecdote.

The Dan were in the studio recording “Deacon Blue” — for those who recognize tunes and not titles, that’s the one with the lyric:

    Learned to work
    the saxophone.
I play just what I feel.
Drink Scotch whisky, all night long…
    and die behind the wheel.
They got a name for the winners in the world —
    I want a name when I lose.
They call Alabama the Crimson Tide —
    Call me Deacon Blues.

So they got this sax guy recommended by Johnny Carson, brought him in, played him the raw tune, then said, “play just what you feel.” And the guy — who is a total improvisational jazz player — played it through. Fagin and Becker allowed that it was very good, then said, “let’s run through it again.” So they had two takes.

The sax player said, “really weird experience. I listen once. Improv’d a solo for it on the tape. They wanted another take, so recorded another take. They thanked me, and I was on my way. Took about half an hour, total. Then, two months later, I’m playing in every airport restroom in the United States.”

    (They used the second take.)

    Liked by 12 people

      1. I’m sure they did. And he’s credited, so he gets residuals (I think that’s how that works). But the fun part is the contrast — Steely Dan was famous for making people do 37 takes of the exact same part, retreating into the studio, calling the same guy back in eight months later to record the same part ten more times, then calling the guy in six months after that for three cuts of a modified take…..then using original take #26. Such was the price of being in “the inner circle.”

This rando guy comes in, they don’t know him, does two takes in half an hour, breezes out….and he’s on the album. Seems a bit more “casual” than their reputation.

The thing is, however, they were trying to illustrate a lyric where a sax player plays “just what he feels” and considers himself a loser — so to give it their usual production gloss and sync it to the millisecond against all the other parts wouldn’t be appropriate.

In the meantime, it is worth noting that all their stuff (before the 20 year hiatus) was done on analog tape. Nowadays, you’d do everything in the digital realm with a Digital Audio Workstation — and lining things up to the millisecond is just like Photoshop — select it and drag it to the line.

There is a linux distro crammed full of tools for creating and manipulating audio and video — Ubuntu Studio — . And there are free DAWs to play with. If you remember back a ways when I completely hosed my audio, that’s what I was attempting to install [It’s all good now — the installers tried to prioritize my “better” audio choices rather than the ones that have speakers attached.]

    1. So I said “Hey, Lama. How about a little something, you know, for the effort? And he said, “Rikki lost my number, and Cousin Dupree was a pedo. Then again, Jimmy Page once said that the solos in “Reelin’ in the Years” were his all-time fav.” So they got that goin’ for them, which is nice.

      Liked by 2 people

      1. To drill down a bit, Cousin Dupree was certainly skeevy (it’s in the lyric), but was not a pedo. He speaks of having some experience in the real world, and the chorus saying “we used to play when we were three” makes him the same age as as his cousin. So they both should be above the age of consent…..though not necessarily outside the legal boundaries of consanguinity……which, somewhat frighteningly, varies by state.

Taking just two data points (’cause they’re near the top) from — Arkansas and California — they both broadly prohibit relationships between ancestors and descendants; siblings of whole or half blood; and uncles/aunts/nephews/nieces…..

Arkansas takes pains to prohibit relations with step-children or adopted children across a couple of generations that California does not*. And neither prohibit relations between first cousins.

*It is possible that California has more Mikado and Iolanthe fans than does Arkansas….

Then I read your post. Damned right! We are watching a movie!

I have said it long before Q came along. No way in Hell that the US Military does not know what has been happening under the Obama administration and prior decades. They have been watching these communists for a long time. You cannot even take a government job without being asked if you have ever been a communist.

We are expected to believe that the Marxists going all the way back nearly a century…Frankfurt school and all…can devise a plan that unfolds over many decades—BUT somehow a well planned counterinsurgency is beyond the skills and capabilities of the most powerful military the world has ever known?

case in point (to your point):

All the gunmen who were in CHAZ/CHOP in Seattle.

They disappeared. Like, off the face of the planet. POOF! Gone.

    What happened??

Thomas Wictor….the man who actually analyzes videos and has more insight than most of the well-known, well-intentioned twatter opinionators ….tells us.

    People need to understand……..

The exact same folks behind the Q phenomena are precisely the exact same folks who spent the past several decades fighting in the sands of the Middle East against REAL terrorists. Hunting REAL bad guys who were EXPERIENCED killers.

Do you think those guys who were Navy SEALs and went on to become Delta team members just hung it up? Decided to call it quits? Stopped being patriots? Ended their participation in special operations?? Walked away from their sacrifices and said to hell with it all??

Anyone who thinks that is more stupid and idiotic than the worst drooling leftist chanting “kill all cops”. Anyone who thinks that doesn’t know the first thing about the people who become navy SEALS and Delta force operators, much less about the patriots behind Q.

Funny how no one mentions these people. Except Wictor.

      1. The understood goal of BLM was to cause CONFRONTATION with US law enforcement that would result in the harm to protestors.

A gun battle with police was EXACTLY what they wanted. CHAZ/CHOP’s purpose was to create that scenario, with all the druggie flower children who were supposed to get int the way and get hurt/killed. They were practically begging Trump to go in “hot” and wipe them out.

A media orgy would have ensued.

Instead, the gunmen inside CHAZ/CHOP vanished.

There was no gun battle, There was no confrontation with police.

Nowadays, bull riding is seeing how long we can stay on top of the bull spewed by the MSM and the deep state.

    1. REMINDER:

We STILL don’t have all of the scope memos RR wrote outlining the authorities he gave the Mueller SC.

As for Mueller’s pathetic drivel in the article above…” The women and men who conducted these investigations and prosecutions acted with the highest integrity. Claims to the contrary are false.”…

…the Flynn case proves the lie above.

Which, of course, is why they are so desperate to keep it from getting thrown out of court…and to distract from it with MUH VIRUS and BLM.

  7. Dear WQTH folks – just a quick update from Provo, Ut. regarding the shooting last week that resulted in the arrests of Jesse Taggart, his getaway driving girlfriend, and one other pistol pointing loon. Yesterday, one of the protest organizers, a John Sullivan, was arrested and charged with illegal protests, making threats of violence and criminal mischief. The Sullivan guy had started a FB group called “Insurgence” and had been promoted very heavily by the local media as a great guy who just wanted to do something good for the BLM community. Well, lo and behold, he isn’t from Utah, he was recorded threatening a female motorist with the most vile things, and was videotaped kicking in the side of her car door as she tried to pass him on an illegally blocked intersection (the same one where the Taggart guy shot and wounded another motorist). He and Taggart were shown (after Taggart had shot the motorist) walking side by side down the street and chatting amicably. Anyway, I have to give kudos to the Provo Police Dept. for going after these guys and putting them in jail in a very short amount of time. These out of towners are being shown the locked door…hopefully for a very long time.

    1. And how many of these people were installed during non-presidential election years? That’s what I want to know. Our state wide races are on presidential years, but local government isn’t. Advantage Democrats automatically because their people show up during ice storms to vote. A lot of Americans [used to] shrug and say, oh, it doesn’t matter.

      Uh, yes, it does.

      1. Alas our state executive branch, and county races are on the off years (e.g., 2014, 2018), but at least that’s still a federal election as well (House Congresscritters, and usually a senator). The really low-level stuff (city, school board, etc.) is in April. (WTF?!?)

If memory serves CA holds its state/county elections in odd numbered years. I was utterly unaware of this the first year of my sentence there, and failed to vote.

Every so often, someone will set me off and I’ll go into rapturous detail about the sixth largest and second deepest lake on the planet, the inland sea that is Tanganyika, which has a fascinating ecology…..

But, then, you get to Lake Baikal in Russia. The world’s most voluminous lake, it holds roughly 20% of the fresh water on the planet and is also the world’s deepest lake. It is known as “the Galapagos of Russia” for all the life that can be found there and nowhere else. It is surely worthy of the same sort of intensive study applied to Lake T, with substantially hardier explorers….because the neighboring countryside dips down to about -2 degrees F in winter, with a high in summer of about 57. For some reason, this tends to limit the amount of exploratory snorkeling and SCUBA….

            1. Lake T is the aforementioned Lake Tanganyika — the second deepest lake (after Lake Baikal). They’re both ancient rift lakes, opened by continental drift.

Lake Baikal contains more fresh water than the five Great Lakes combined.

    1. Ironic….we had our credit card hacked a few years ago and our “alert system” said it was for a less than $3 purchase in a McDonald’s in Detroit. The investigator said credit card forgers almost always try it out in a place like McDonald’s for a very small amount to see if it goes through. (if it’s rejected, they just pay with cash). If they have success ( and our hacker did), they go on a shopping spree for a few hours and then get rid of the card.
Now…can you see the potential fraud for requiring credit cards?

Thankfully we didn’t get held responsible for Any of those thief’s purchases…

Ataturk, I believe, de-mosqued (if that is a word) the Hagia Sophia, turning it into a museum, and some restoration was done to uncover the Christian artwork that the Muslims had covered up.

Ironically, it was a UNESCO site and Turkey theoretically should have got permission to do this, but didn’t (we aren’t the only ones, apparently, who say F the UN). This time around they promise to cover non-destructively the mosaics; I imagine that’s their intent but 50 years from now some ISIS/Taliban-like person may be in charge.

Sometimes the best songs are about places that are familiar, or once were familiar but merit being remembered . . . or maybe, just maybe, might be familiar even if we’ve never actually been there. In the record producing biz musicians sometimes rather cynically talk about looking for that ever elusive “hook” that creates just the right emotional tug on people’s hearts. I don’t think Lyle Lovett would be all that comfortable sitting in an office somewhere talking to a record producer about whether is song has a hook. If you love music and listen enough to his, you realize that he doesn’t look for hooks for a good reason. Lyle Lovett’s songs always tell stories—the whole song is the “hook”.

The La Salle hotel’s restaurant with it’s plate of Texas enchiladas and the smiling waitress doesn’t exist anymore but what makes the “Front Porch Song” work is that its not so much about a place as about an experience. Today I was in Austin to have a late afternoon lunch with some old friends. We’ve known each other a long time and are as much like family as friends. Since we’re Texans we tend to gravitate to places like Lyle’s restaurant. Old restaurants like this are timeless celebrations—the La Salle may be gone, but another is just down the street or a couple of blocks over. And the people who go there understand them for what they are, often unadorned but perfect nonetheless. We were there talking for three hours. It was hot outside and nobody minded some old guys spending some time inside where it was cool. The waitress smiled at us as she kept our bucket sized glasses of iced-tea filled.

    1. This conceptually reminds me of Detroit’s Lafayette Coney Island restaurant! It has a timeless vibe that harkens back to at least the 50’s. We were there early in our marriage & got waited on by an old time character who counted back our change(!!!) into my husband’s hand & ended by dramatically furrowing his brow to detach the final quarter he’d somehow managed to stick to his forehead before coming over.

I’ve heard that people from all walks of life, from diamonds & furs, to practically street people, come to eat there at all times of the day & night (it Might be 24 hours). It’s been featured in a couple of movies, including one featuring some Mo-Town musicians…Last time we were there a few years back w/ our kids & some of their friends after an evening at the Detroit Institute of Arts, the guys went down to the basement to use the facilities & discovered a Very Scary dark room that they couldn’t stop discussing…hopefully it wasn’t some entrance to a creepy tunnel system, but who knows?

There was a local TV news feature story about the Lafayette Coney Island vs it’s more modern neighbor American Coney Island. Apparently it’s quite the rivalry & both places have extremely loyal customers. The feature wouldn’t come to a conclusion as to which style of Coney was “best”…Since I’ve never had an “American”, & perhaps never will, I have no opinion on which is the best…

Thanks for the joggin’ of the ole noggin’ & jaunting down memory lane…

Hopefully at least some of the pics show to give you an idea of the timelessness of it all…

  19. I don’t see how some of you never sleep at night. I’m always late to this thread.

Apologetics – get some. Study, prepare. Always be prepared to give a defense of your faith. The defense is the counter punch that turns into offense. Use His words, not those from your own feelings or personal opinions. When the stuff that is not Biblical comes out of their mouths, ask them to reference the scriptures that support their position. It will almost always be wrongful or out of context interpretation, a feeling, flawed worldly logic, something somebody told them, etc. That allows you to answer with scripture. If they are wise, they will listen and discuss. If they are sinful, they will become angry or quit discussing.

It is the same for red pilling. The two are intertwined. When the stuff starts about PDT being mean, could mouthed or whatever – point out the sins common to all man. Point out that there are instruments of God as compared to servants of God. Ask the person if they understand the difference and if they can tell you who PDT is. That then leads to the discussion of his salvation, beliefs and actions. Then you are off to the races.

Keep a card handy of all of the accomplishments of this administration that you believe are scripturally supported. Keep a separate list of all of the evil he and his admin have faced while accomplishing the good things. Ask the person if they believe that could have been done without the hand of Almighty Yahweh. That leads to more discussion.

Your role is to plant seeds and at times, be the branch that passes along nutrients to the people. Yahweh is the vinedresser. The ultimate result is in His hands. So when you face obstinate, misguided, and uninformed understand that if they refuse to listen John 15 applies. Brings to mind that Johnny Cash song.

Our earthly family is given to us by Yahweh. But who did Jesus say His family was? Look it up.

  20. I hesitate to put this article here, but it so explains the reality on the ground surrounding my hometown and its namesake. The reality is this city was settled by French Catholics, and was sold without the knowledge or consent of the residents in the early 19th century by the Spanish, actually, in a three way trade. There’s been religious conflict ever since. It’s come to a head thanks to people who came here hundreds of years after the founding and now want to tell us how to run the place.

    ~~~Mask mandate compliance has been about 80% statewide since the governor’s order took effect June 26, according to the state Occupational Safety and Health Administration. That rate was determined after officials made about 650 site visits.
    On Wednesday, OSHA went to nearly 350 places statewide. It said southern Nevada sites had a 75% compliance rate and northern Nevada businesses came in at 84%.
    Agency officials did not immediately say whether any fines have been issued to non-compliant businesses.
    Written warnings and follow-up visits can lead to no action if compliance improves, or citations and penalties of up to $135,000 if an employer is found in willful violation.
