Dear KAG: 20200709 Open Thread

Just in case you missed it on yesterday’s open thread, and in honor of our very own PatFrederick dealing with a Karen live and in person, here’s the PSA of the year:

Seriously, how do you top that one.

Okay, so since Q has been silent for a few days (watch, between the time I type this and when this post publishes, something will surface) it’s on to mood music.

This one comes to mind, too.

For those of you experiencing unseasonably cool summer weather, please, let us know if we can come visit without quarantining ourselves first…and how would the governor of your state know if we did….

Don’t answer that.

As usual, this is the daily thread, the place to put all information that needs to be out there – Q drops, Q drop decodes, potential riot information, rumors about MAGA rallies starting up again, news flashes, WuFlu updates (is that still a thing?), satire, memes, and of course cute animal videos.

In the meantime, the short and sweet version of “THE RULES” is here borrowed from Tuesday:

Guidelines for posting and discussion on this site were outlined by our host, WolfM00n. Please, review them from time to time.

The discourse on this site is to be CIVIL – no name calling, baiting, or threatening others here is allowed. Those who are so inclined may visit Wolf’s other sanctuary, the U-Tree, to slog it out.

This site is a celebration of the natural rights endowed to humans by our Creator as well as those enshrined in the Bill of Rights adopted in the founding documents of the United States of America. Within the limits of law, how we exercise these rights is part of the freedom of our discussion.

Fellow tree dweller Wheatie gave us some good reminders on the basics of civility in political discourse:

  1. No food fights.
  2. No running with scissors.
  3. If you bring snacks, bring enough for everyone.

Since it is almost the weekend, the reminders are in place to not swing from the chandeliers, wash your hands and face, marinate the ribs, and be nice to the liberals whether they deserve it or not. Making your bed, OTOH, is optional.

Why do I get the feeling this could actually happen?

MT 10:7-15

Jesus said to his Apostles:
“As you go, make this proclamation:
‘The Kingdom of heaven is at hand.’
Cure the sick, raise the dead,
cleanse the lepers, drive out demons.
Without cost you have received; without cost you are to give.
Do not take gold or silver or copper for your belts;
no sack for the journey, or a second tunic,
or sandals, or walking stick.
The laborer deserves his keep.
Whatever town or village you enter, look for a worthy person in it,
and stay there until you leave.
As you enter a house, wish it peace.
If the house is worthy,
let your peace come upon it;
if not, let your peace return to you.
Whoever will not receive you or listen to your wordsC
go outside that house or town and shake the dust from your feet.
Amen, I say to you, it will be more tolerable
for the land of Sodom and Gomorrah on the day of judgment
than for that town.”

Time to be a rebel and #TakeOffTheMask!

    1. When Omar became a citizen she did not have to pledge a legion to the US because she is a muslim and they only can pledge to Mohamed. I think Obama changed it for Muslims.
WhenI took citizenship I pledge to the US and gave up my citizenship willingly on purpose. One cannot serve to masters.
Omar has an agenda and wonder if she is a agent of another country. Why would she won’t to change this country into where she came from. We have laws I am sure to stop this why not?

      1. Agree, Sing!!! She needs to be called to account for her hatred for our country – and removed from office – however – if they ‘defied the police’ – they will be one step closer to Sharia Law – and it is they who will police the streets – very dangerous!!!

      2. I think the Oath referred to was as a Congresswoman. I didn’t know that about Obama changing it to cave to Muslims….had to be an EO and therefore could be rescinded, I would think. To me, it’s a no brainer if you want to become a US citizens ….with privilege comes responsibility, allegiance and obligation.

We have a totally corrupt previous Administration, including a President and Vice President who spied on my campaign, AND GOT CAUGHT…and nothing happens to them. This crime was taking place even before my election, everyone knows it, and yet all are frozen stiff with fear….

….No Republican Senate Judiciary response, NO “JUSTICE”, NO FBI, NO NOTHING. Major horror show REPORTS on Comey & McCabe, guilty as hell, nothing happens. Catch Obama & Biden cold, nothing. A 3 year, $45,000,000 Mueller HOAX, failed – investigated everything….

…Won all against the Federal Government and the Democrats send everything to politically corrupt New York, which is falling apart with everyone leaving, to give it a second, third and fourth try. Now the Supreme Court gives a delay ruling that they would never have given…

….for another President. This is about PROSECUTORIAL MISCONDUCT. We catch the other side SPYING on my campaign, the biggest political crime and scandal in U.S. history, and NOTHING HAPPENS. But despite this, I have done more than any President in history in first 3 1/2 years!

      1. From the article…and for the record….

“I oppose the destruction of evidence that may contain smoking gun proof that my false accuser made up her story,” Dershowitz said. “I want all the evidence preserved because I have absolutely nothing to hide. I did nothing wrong. The evidence to be destroyed may also contain proof of wrongdoing by others. It should be preserved for appeal and for history. Destroying evidence risks destroying truth.”

            1. From the article:
Preska wrote that all the materials in the files “shall be destroyed.”

Preska also requested proof that the documentation had been destroyed. “Counsel shall submit an affidavit detailing the steps taken to do so,” Preska’s ruling added.

              1. That’s what I thought. I’ve never heard of a judge having the authority to destroy evidence. More outrageous things are being done every day that we’ve never seen before.

                Liked by 5 people

    1. That tweet seems misleading. All Dershowitz wanted was access to the files, which seems reasonable for someone who has been accused. The judge took the extreme step of ordering the evidence destroyed. ..which begs the questions, Does a judge have the right to destroy evidence? Are there duplicates in the hands of others? Can this decision be appealed? The article doesn’t explore these and other questions.

    2. So it appears that Mr. DERSHOWITZ is showing his true colors.

A most interesting article by Dershowitz in which he defends Ms. Maxwell (“presumption of innocence”); and makes it clear that he AND his wife AND their daughter, not he by himself, flew to Jeffrey Epstein’s sex island.
Guess Mr. Dershowitz got a “message” from the CLINTONMACHINE to “be very careful”….

      1. If you “know” Dersh, he is defending the concept of presumption of innocence…gravely under attack by the left and Lawfare types…. not Maxwell per se….just as he has defended PDJT in the same way.

Dersh stands upon the presumption of innocence, telling both left AND right that ALL are entitled to it…

…not just when it’s politically convenient (which is hypocritical and, being such, is an affront to God).

In Trump v. Vance, the attempt by New York to subpoena President Trump’s financial records as part of a state criminal investigation was upheld by a 7-2 majority.

As much as I want the President to be protected from frivolous and malicious state actions, I also dislike the mantle of nobility that so many in Washington wear, although it is obviously a politically motivated subpoena, and to think otherwise seems silly. But we live in silly times, and the Supreme Court is not immune to unserious actions. Perhaps they could have held that the attempt was transparently political and denied it without creating a precedent that would allow any government entity to harass a sitting president with ridiculous demands and suits and subpoenas.

Unfortunately we have as a Chief Justice an overtly political hack; a deep-state operative who runs the court as an arm of his personal political beliefs and feelings, one of which is that he dislikes the President.

What is next? Suing to see his colonoscopy results?

    2. It appears that POTUS’ 2016 tax records, which may show payments to Stormy Daniels, are involved here.
DO NOT FORGET that one of the hidden / secondary goals of the DeepState / Soros – Clinton cabal / Globalists – Gates cabal, if they can do it, is to DESTROY the relationship between President Trump and First Lady Melania Trump and thence their marriage: along with destroying POTUS’ family.

      1. Just don’t believe our germaphobe POTUS would ever cheat w/grifter Daniels. His taste is definitely more high class. IF he did (which again is highly unlikely, IMO), I’m sure he and Melania are past it. We also know that these claims are made against the rich constantly and they frequently pay nuisance money to avoid embarrassment or long drawn out court expenses.
This is political. Dems are desperate for dirt to sling against him….Embarrass, twist to criminal activity, use info to boycott/cancel his businesses.
They will NOT get it before the election which is fabulous.
I worry about afterwards. Will they keep bringing bogus charges and lawsuits against him once he leaves office to punish him?
Also, the message that this is sending to any other Republican that dares run for office. They better be super rich and prepared to fight nonstop or else. (I suspect this is why some of the Republicans aren’t stepping up to defend POTUS, they’re terrified they’ll be targeted for destruction)

Ironically, many conservative Christians are the principal agents of the cancel culture, and like to slander brother and sisters of color.

Unless you’re INITIATED into the CRT TRIBE via years of academic indoctrination, & unless you are one of the “experts”, a member of the unimpeachable CRT Priest-Class, you aren’t allowed to speak/criticize dogmas (opinions not allowed to challenge)

    1. Yesterday on Fox leading into Tucker there was some report of 10,000 (yes 10,000) new cases in Texas – in a single day. Would be 7/7. When you’re counting all the contacts of a single case as “probable” and immediately adding these “probables” into the case count, a single case is now 15 cases. I read that it was a actually a judge that blew the whistle on that whole thing – the Collin County slide show.

      1. This is absolutely absurd, Mom – they are trying so hard to blow up this whole ‘cold’ crisis to make it appear worse than it is.

In addition, anybody who died during this fiasco died of the ‘cold’ crisis – we have proof they were instructed to count them as ‘cold’ deaths – even if they were not tested and died of other causes – this whole looney lockdown labyrinth is most annoying – and it has cost many more than they can recover.

PT tried his best to take care of everyone – and he probably suspected the goofy governors would make a mess – but, he pulled out all of the stops to assist – and they still could not handle it – because – unlike PT – they are politicians – not managers!

    1. More idiocy from the sheeple, and, sadly, the sheeprelates…

It’s a common virus, part of the common-cold “package” and the “flu” package that gets sent to us from China or parts thereabout every year. And SERIOUS virologists are saying the death rate is lower and the sickness is weaker than the “normal” flu. 2018 was a MUCH worse year for flu, for example.

The gubmint (read deep dark state) want us to believe that COVID-19 (or whatever it’s called this week) is the 1918 Spanish Flu, the Black Plague, Smallpox, AIDS, Polio, the Andromeda Strain, and dog-stealing Martians all rolled into one…

Folks need to get a grip; and fight back against this stuff. As the saying goes, if we give them an inch, they’ll take a mile….

Funny (not) how the left have all their “RESIST” and “OCCUPY” movements, but most of the rest of us are just whimpering as we put on our collective masks, whether real or psychological…

What is special about these words: job, polish, herb?

I am taken from a mine, and shut up in a wooden case, from which I am never released, and yet I am used by almost everybody. What am I?

A man stands on one side of a river, his dog on the other. The man calls his dog, who immediately crosses the river without getting wet and without using a bridge or a boat. How did the dog do it?

I can’t be bought, but I can be stolen with a glance. I’m worthless to one, but priceless to two. What am I?

Turn me on my side and I am everything. Cut me in half and I am nothing. What am I?

No matter how little or how much you use me, you change me every month. What am I?

    How can 8 + 8 = 4?

What has cities, but no houses; forests, but no trees; and water, but no fish?

There is a word in the English language in which the first two letters signify a male, the first three letters signify a female, the first four signify a great man, and the whole word, a great woman. What is the word?

You’re escaping a labyrinth and there are three exits. Exit A leads to an inferno. Exit B leads to an assassin. Exit C leads to a lion that hasn’t eaten in 3 years. Which exit do you pick?

This popped into my twit feed today. There’s a couple things on the video I doubt are accurate, like the chan post from “R” being the prince of Camelot, but something interesting did come out of it.

The video states that there were 17 people on the ship when the remains were buried at sea. I went looking for a confirmation. Found this from CNN, July 22, 1999.

“Defense Department sources tell CNN that 17 family members attended the service. The mourners included Kennedy’s sister, Caroline Kennedy, his uncle, Sen. Edward M. Kennedy, and cousins Maria Shriver and William Kennedy Smith.

“Relatives of the Bessette sisters also attended, including their mother, Ann Freeman, stepfather, Dr. Richard Freeman, and Lauren Bessette’s twin sister, Lisa Ann Bessette.”

    Really? 17? Coincidence.

    The jury’s out, IMO.

      1. I read that book by Kathy McKeon, Jackie’s Girl. She was 19, just over from Ireland and managed to land the job in 1964 as Jackie’s personal assistant. One of the chapters talks about John Jr. putting “You Can’t Always Get What You Want” on a loop, was a favorite.

His Cessna 182 – tail N529JK – still flies all the time. Out of Stafford Regional Airport (KRMN) near Quantico.

  18. OMG! 2003 book tells of Robert Maxwell’s intelligence work.….

    AnonEarth globe americas☮
Robert Maxwell was recruited by MOSSAD to sell PROMIS software globally, which was used to covertly spy on governments on behalf of Israel & the CIA.

Maxwell fortune was built on subterfuge & infiltration. Ghislaine was a natural.

Here’s an article on the book:

Robert Maxwell, Israel’s Superspy: The Life and Murder of a Media Mogul
By Gordon Thomas and Martin Dillon, Carrol and Graf Publishers, 2002, 368 pp. List: $27; AET: $20.

    Reviewed by Robert Younes, M.D.

“Robert Maxwell rose rocketlike into the stratosphere of international prominence, leaving a trail of sparks behind him as he burst brilliantly on the world scene. As his brilliance faded with the collapse of his business empire, and the world’s attention turned to new events and crises, his name drifted into obscurity. The story of Maxwell’s life, however, far transcends the brilliant flash of public display.

“Authors Gordon and Dillon resurrect the life of Robert Maxwell, reconstructing this man who was born in 1923 to Jewish parents living in the obscure Polish village of Slatinske Doly. As a young man, he transformed himself into an English gentleman and World War II hero who was decorated by Field Marshal Montgomery himself with the Military Cross for bravery under fire. In Great Britain, Maxwell climbed to dizzying heights of power, wealth and prestige.

“The authors’ wonderfully detailed biography is based on multiple sources and interviews with 54 people who had intimate knowledge of Maxwell and his life. In addition, 21 other contacts supplied information that enriched the many details of Maxwell’s personality, character, skills and foibles. The end result is a multi-faceted portrayal of a person with immense personal skills—and, unfortunately, many flaws. His biographers divide Maxwell’s many lives—all of which he lived with consummate skill and supreme confidence—into four different and significant life trajectories: public, family, criminal, and spy.”

    DP comment:

Either Maxwell really was a spy or this is one heck of a well-crafted psy-op.

(The real Oktoberfest for this year has been cancelled, as was the decadal “Passion Play” at Oberammergau, which is rescheduled to 2022… The Volksfest in Stuttgart [which is also quite good, and this year would have been the 175th Anniversary] has also been cancelled. Have to schedule some DAH [Drink At Home] time 😮 😦 )

  19. Via LIFELOG:

American Racism: We’ve Got So Very Far to Go
And the journey must continue step-by-step.
    David French

There are a lot of influential thinkers on this forum, so I made sure to put together a thoughtful response contrary to the positive comments and point arguing about French’s anti-Trumpism.

    . . .

I am hesitant to frame the conversation in the terms David French does, as a form of zero sum game between a thesis, a reactionary anti-thesis, and a need for voices to come together in synthesis. In particular his criticism of conservatives, especially WRT the “alt-right” is at this late date less than fair or honest.

I would rather challenge the framing of the thesis itself and counter the thesis than react against it. One of the core sticking points for me is the unfair declaration that conservatives reject the concept of systemic racism. Oh heck no – thanks to decades of anti-family, so-called “anti-crime”, anti-economic “welfare” policies, improper policing, drug policy, etc etc etc we are reaping the fruit of a whirlwind of policies that, frankly, the same conservatives French laments as the whole did not subscribe to.

Part of that is the false dichotomy on criminal justice reform between “tough on crime” and “reform” movements where conservatives are always maneuvered into this “tough on crime” corner. Most of us on this forum are big fans criminal justice reform and we’re well aware that much more work needs to be done. A man in prison has no chance to be a present and intentional father to his children, or get the job experience and opportunities he needs to be successful. After he is out of prison the risk of recidivism is huge because an ex-con does not have economic opportunities. Most of us here want to dynamite the unfair barriers that have kept ex-cons out of the workforce. One set of statistics I saw showed only 3% of whites and 2% of blacks are able to find work after prison. That’s pretty bleak for both races even if there is a disparity there.

Further frustrating is that conservatives just don’t live in the right precincts in large enough numbers to sway policy toward Biblical justice. Corrupt politicians are not held to account. Police unions feed money to political campaigns from their dues money, and negotiate for standards that make it almost impossible to enforce standards for police behavior. The few bad cops end up being unaccountable and they set the tone down for the rest of the department. Quality of policing drops as the police are demoralized, and the community suffers as crimes go undeterred. Simple things like quality of life policing and preventing graffiti are abandoned, in large part by politicians who use department policy to make it harder for police to do a good job. When this happens in minority voting districts this is systemic racism in the form of structural corruption and it is not politically correct to speak of it.

Not every problem affecting race comes down to public policy, but the fact remains that bad public policies remain the overwhelming elephant in the room that prevents racial minorities from flourishing and rising to meet their God-given potential. Fixing public policy problems won’t heal the spiritual problems, but when dad can come back to his family, when dad can have the dignity of a sustainable job, he actually has the opportunity for the first time to be the dad he was meant to be, to attend church, and allow God to work in his life.

French never mentions God, the church, religion, only making passing mention of religious institutions. What of salvation and redemption? Likewise French may complain about a “conservative political correctness” but as far as I can tell he’s only talking about conservationism in the most caricatured of terms which don’t reflect the breadth of conservative thought on the matter.

Scrabble bans 236 bigoted words, slurs from official list
    By Natalie O’NeillJuly 9, 2020

    Scrabble just got W-O-K-E.

Players of the classic board game will no longer be able to rack up points for spelling out racial and ethnic slurs, according to Scrabble officials.

A total of 236 bigoted words were removed from the official Scrabble word list used at tournaments — in order to make the game friendlier to all types of people, The North American Scrabble Players Association. said Wednesday.

“Removing slurs is the very least that we can do to make our association more inclusive,” NASPA CEO John Chew said in a statement. “How can we in this day tell prospective members that they can only play with us if they accept that offensive slurs have no meaning when played on a board?”

  21. Judge Sullivan Appeals Order to Dismiss Flynn Case
    By Kristinn Taylor

Not surprising but totally ridiculous. Sullivan is NOT a party. He actually has no standing to petition for en banc. He should be removed from the bench entirely after his egregious conduct.

    Kevin Corke

#new Judge Emmett Sullivan requests en banc hearing, meaning he wants the full circuit court of appeals to hear the #MichaelFlynn matter. The three judge panel ruled 2-1 last month that Sullivan should drop the case.

#more #Sullivan is not ready to drop the case, and wants the entire 11 judge panel to decide the matter.

DC Circuit federal appeals court in coming days/weeks will decide whether to grant the request for en banc hearing.

If granted, then an oral argument date would be set, perhaps for the fall. A ruling at some point would then be issued. No real deadline for the appeals court to decide.

#more If denied, Judge Sullivan would then have the option of asking #Scotus to intervene, either on an emergency basis or through the regular appeals process, something that could takes months to resolve.

If #Scotus ultimately declines to get involved, or the district court judge declines to ask for #Scotus review, then the issue goes back to the judge, who presumably would comply with the appeals court’s initial ruling to grant the DOJ motion to dismiss.

    . . . ANOTHER . . .

    Catherine Herridge
#FLYNN Breaking: Judge Sullivan asks entire DC Circuit Court of Appeals to review previous order forcing him to dismiss Flynn case. Sullivan lawyer Beth Wilkinson’s 69 page filing reads in part: “The panel’s decision threatens to turn ordinary judicial process upside down…

    Catherine Herridge
It is the district court’s job to consider + rule on pending motions, even ones that seem straightforward. This Court, if called upon, reviews those decisions—it does not preempt them. This case satisfies requirements of Rule 35 + en banc review should be granted.”
