  1. the democrats’ answer to everything…another freaking commission–more big government–this time to discuss and investigate racial inequities and make policies. so let’s create some high salary positions we can grant to our friends, children or donors to steal more tax payer money…so we can say that whites are bad, slavery was bad, and we need reparations. there…I got to the results quicker and cheaper than any commission.

    Party leaders have also scheduled a vote this week on a sweeping infrastructure package, which includes provisions aimed at boosting both the economy and access to services in poor, minority and other vulnerable communities.

    To that list, a number of Democrats also want to add reparations.

    Jackson Lee’s proposal does not call for direct payments to those harmed by slavery and its legacy, nor does it promote any other specific remedial approach. Instead, it would form a commission – composed of members appointed by the White House and both chambers of Congress – to study racial iniquities and recommend policy solutions.

    “Slavery is our original sin, and there are so many people of good will who want to find a response to over 200 years of bondage for the descendants of enslaved Africans. And we’re not dictating that response,” said Jackson Lee.

    The commission would be asked to take into account historic government policies – federal, state and local – that harmed Black Americans even long after the end of slavery, including segregation, redlining and the Jim Crow laws in the South.

      1. Dems are always “hot” for a good commission, focus group, or study committee. Obama must have had dozens of them, all put together they ALL accomplished exactly ZIP. TALK is cheap, ACTIONS speak louder than WORDS. Obama and the dems are TALK and GRAFT, IE what’s in it for THEM. Trump is less talk and ALL action, he is what’s in it for AMERICA.

        1. Au contraire. They facilitated personal networking, program ideas, and future plans (after term limits). The planning for what is happening now took place across about six of the eight years Jugears was in the WH. Once he got “shellacked” in 2010 and caused the tea parties to sprout, he knew his time as POTUS was not going to ‘transform’ America.

          So they started all these commissions, study groups, and focus groups (headed by ‘czars’) in order to be able to run a shadow govt / insurrection AFTER his term ends.

      The worst off people living here in the USA are better off then many living in Africa! They are DARN LUCKY to be in the USA. The ONLY Reparation I want to see is a ONE WAY TICKET BACK TO AFRICA in RETURN FOR RENOUNCING CITIZENSHIP!

      Oh and I did a bit of research. Seems my ancestors made slavery against their religion before Christ walked the earth so I ain’t paying!

      1. Ya know Gail, I” am of Irish decent, 100%, My ancestors came over and lived in Ghettos in NY, were made fun of, abused, and yes even indentured slaves. Do I get respirations? How about the Chinese? The Germans? The Japanese? Polish? ALL at one time or another immigrated here, and ALL at one time or another were oppressed HERE. Know the difference? They STOPPED complaining, worked HAR, adapted, and OVERCAME.

      1. OVEER 150 years since slavery was abolished. That is seven and almost EIGHT generations. Time to let it GO. It was a deep scar we KNOW, we get it, THAT is why we abolished it. We cannot take it back, so constantly bitching about it, as if it was STILL going on is a fools errand.

        What’s done is done ,MOVE on and actually LEARN from it, we did, why can’t YOU. Life is too short to live as a PAWN of the dems forever.

And maybe the blacks and Moslems in Africa and the Middle East who sold the slaves (sometimes their family members) into slavery. And they “gave” us the KKK, the Civil War, the DEMONicRAT plantation aided and abetted by LBJ, Chappaquiddick Ted, Hart, Celler, Byrd, and a host of others with “D” (as in DEMONIC) next to their names…

          And, no, today’s scammers are owed nothing for what happened to their ancestors those many years ago. And their ancestors would most likely NOT ACCEPT reparations, as that would be beneath them. Today’s useless malcontents will take anything they can get: as long as it’s free, and/or not nailed down… (looters here, there, and everywhere)…

          1. The only reparations the slaves asked for was FREEDOM. They were given that AN D the right to vote. They only thing Marin Luther King asked for was civil rights reform, he was given that. Reparations were not mentioned by either, it is only the race baiting profiteers like Sharpton and Shaun King that ask for hand outs instead of hand UPS. Telling!

            1. I think if anyone pays reparation should be those families who owned who owned slaves.
              Why should people who never benefitted from slavery and whose families fought for the freedom for slavery pay reparation? They paid plenty.
              A lot of people worked to make this country.

              2. I disagree, I want NO repariations for my familes suffering, I did not suffer, therefore things that happen over 100 years ago, are DONE. ALL involved are DEAD, what is the point. We fought a Civil war that killed hunderds of thousands, we reformed, we learned, we changed, THAT should be ENOUGH.

    2. Reparations to slaves when the states are footing the bill for fixing and replacing bridges on the interstate system?

      I mean, I know we’ve gotten a lot of new ones lately in this MSA due to fatigue cracks showing up during eyeball inspections, but the Jefferson Barracks Bridge over the Mississippi is showing signs its time is close to up, and the next one south is 100 mile downstream. Rerouting to downtown is a nightmare for on time trucking let alone the people who live and work on the opposite sides of the river.

      Slavery has been over for over 150 years. Time to really let it die.

      1. The only “land” interstate border in the Lower 48 you can’t drive across is the one between Missouri and Kentucky. So I was assured by a friend of mine. There’s no bridge. Apparently a ferry does run at one point.

        But I just took a closer look.

        There are two pieces of Kentucky on the west side of the current course of the Mississippi (the river changes course, the state line stays in place). And one bit of Missouri on the east side (the “Kentucky Bend”) Two of those bits have roads into them from the other state. That’d be the only way to do it.

        But the point being–there’s no bridge across the Mississippi here, nor between Cape Girardeau and St. Louis (which, I am guessing, is the hundred miles you speak of).


        1. Yes. And I don’t know if there is one between Cape and Memphis, although I can’t imagine there isn’t. Last year when the JB went down IMMEDIATELY after the eyeball inspection, people like one of my cousins who lives in IL and works in MO were stuck until one side was opened.

          Fortunately, the way the bridges are built – Lewis & Clark at Alton, Chain of Rocks, Stan Span, Poplar Street, JB, Blanchette, Boone, etc. – that carry Interstates and U.S. highways, east and west are separated on different spans, so that if one side has to be closed for repairs or replacement (Boone, Blanchette (I-70 over the Missouri, almost all the others) there is still a way through. We’ve spent a lot of money in Missouri replacing spans and building new ones in the last 20years. The Fed will pay for the span when it goes between states, but the states pick up the approaches.

          1. I did see at least one bridge between Tennessee and Missouri, so yes there has to be something north of Memphis.

            It’s just the river along the KY-MO boundary that has no bridge (though it’s technically possible to drive between the two states where the river has changed course and left the border dry).


              1. Yeah, that’s what I do–well, except I’m generally headed through Nashville (which is how I know what a clusterf*ck it is) so I take 24 where it splits off from 57.

                One route you could take is the road that runs west from (east to) Paducah, but it cuts across the tiniest sliver of Illinios. Literally less than a mile of Illinois, then another bridge to cross the Ohio river.

              2. We could. But, we’re usually headed to I-10. There is a way to go through Alabama that avoids a lot of the pitfalls in Tennessee.

                Nashville is A MESS. If it continues to grow, that needs to be addressed, IMO.

              3. I’ve lately adopted I-22 from Memphis down to Birmingham, if I am headed as far south as Atlanta or further. I may in that case even come through Amarillo to pick up I-40 to Memphis and completely bypass Missouri. (Which, given the number of idiots who park in the left lane near St. Louis, and the numbers of others who wouldn’t dream of passing them on the right, thereby ensuring everything stays congested, saves my sanity.)


              4. I’m not precisely sure what the route through Alabama is. If one of us kids is not in the car, my parents take it rather than I-75 to I-24 or vice versa.

                The thing about the left lane…because there are so many exits on the left side of the highway here, we don’t worry about it. I know people from other parts of the country have a fit, but tough. We do things differently.

              5. The incidents I had in mind, actually, were well outside of St Louis proper (but still in the 100 or so easternmost miles of MO).

                Yeah, left exits change things greatly (which is why they should be avoided, but that horse has clearly left the barn, grown old, died, and been fossilized, in this case).


              6. The other thing, if you ever drive west over the Poplar Street Bridge (I-55 and I-44) to keep going west on I-64 you have to be in the left lanes or you will end up downtown not knowing how you got there.

                The left hand exits are remnants of the 1940s and 1950s that may well be rectified someday.

      2. I was at an outdoor shopping center earlier walking kiddo to get annice cream cone. No masks of course. We stopped to look at the center map and a woman yelled at her 10 yr old who was standing 4 ft from her to get by her side. We were 8ft away. He said no and asked why. And I looked at her.
        Then as we started to walk past on the side walk she really yelled at him to get next to her. Irritated he asked why.
        Her panicky answer , “They aren’t wearing masks!”
        I didnt say anything but I really wanted to tell that kid to move out as soon as he’s 18.

    1. nope. if anyone hears or knows of a class action lawsuit against this buffoon, let me know…
      up here in north central PA, we had 18 cases (out of 40,790 people) for over a month–it was at 14 initially, rose to 16 a month later and has remained there. deaths are 2…and that hasn’t changed since the beginning.
      this is utter bullshit.

      1. Yes Pat, we know how evil they all are. No reason to do it. They need to have sherrifs in each state get together and arrest tolhe Governor, Lt Governor, and state health dictators. Of course POTUS could do it at this point but local sheriffs have a much higher duty specific to each state and the Constitution.
        Or the okd fashion torches and pitchforks is good. Long past time they remember they are public SERVANTS, not masters.

      2. Well, if you get in an accident or know someone who has, just claim you were wearing a mask and I’m sure some class actions for mandate oxygen deprivation will eventually pop up. Important thing is to blame it right away on the mask so its part of the record.

      I didn’t realize that Breitbart’s John Nolte was controlled opposition. He hid it very well.

      I take his openly anti-Trump declaration as a sign that:

      1. POTUS is most definitely winning


      2. Is winning SO bigly that well-hidden DS assets like Nolte are being burned in a desperate effort to try and turn things around for the DS.

      One thing is absolutely certain…

      I will never EVER click open another Nolte article again. Nolte is dead to me.

        Epoch Times is good and to some extent Daily Caller (Tucker Carlson) has decent articles but you ALWAYS have to do the sniff test with Breitbart, American Thinker, Daily Caller and most of the rest.

        The American Spectator also has decent articles.

        The New American is connected to the John Birch Society and I have a lot of respect for G. Edward Griffin. (BOY does the Left hate him!)

      One wonders just how BAD they had to oversample dems to get those results, and how bad they had to under sample Reps. It must be DRAMATIC, and it indicates impending DOOM. One wonders what the TRUE numbers would reveal.

I KNEW Trump and Barr were going to go after the leaders and ESPECIALLY the funding. THAT, coupled with the coming indictments by Durham on the spying and coup is why they are going after Barr. They WON’T get him, then let THEM answer the questions and conflicts, right Schiff.

      Believe it or not, the dems are FAILING all around, we just have to look and expose it, the MSM is HIDING it.

        Our Marxist County Judge mandated Businesses require masks as soon as Governor Abbott said that was ok for San Antonio.
        Had to go to Sams. 1st half of trip wrestled with holding breath, pulling bottom of mask up for cool air, then it hitting eyeballs when I released. 2nd half of trip, FInally said EFF it!! Pulled down underneath my nose, got some cool air and non-blinded, stood in long line, self-checked, and walked out of the store.
        That’s my plan going forward. Walk in w/it on, pull it down for rest of duration. I may even pull it down underneath my lips. I DOUBLE DOG DARE ANYBODY TO SAY ANYTHING TO ME!!!
        Sign says must wear mask, doesn’t say HOW you have to wear them.👾👾👾

We went into mandatory masks here in Oregon today,I had to go to the store and was told no mask no entry,I have one lung and acute copd,breathing is hard on a good day for me and that mask left me havng issues the rest of the day.i went in to the dispensary for my cbd and was telling the clerk what happened and he told me I’m exempt from a mask according the ADA . This mask rule is to humiliate and debase us and it needs to stop.Q posted all of will stop after the election but as an American I think it needs to stop now.

      Last week nobody cared, although there were signs here and there re distancing.

        1. There were articles several years back even before Trump ran saying they were doing just that. Right now you will be hard pressed to even find the words “Hamptons” on an online map.

          Like anything the elite own or value, they hardened it, guard it in layers of security, or make it vanish from site.

          One thing Alvin Toffler had written in one of his books was that in the future the rich would simply become super mobile to avoid just such things when others methods fail. Walla! Musk last month wrote he was selling off some of his larger properties saying that home ownership and being tied to one place was over valued and one could do just as well skipping about.

  5. so the patriots showing up in Idaho (300 of them) surrounding the blm teens and not allowing the protest to get out of hand? reading the comments (to the tweet) and the strategy is evident…many commenters claiming the adults (the patriots) were BULLYING MINORS—for just expressing their 1A rights…apparently the patriots have NO RIGHTS to express their free speech…
    but that’s a line…adults browbeating and bullying minors…

    1. Since, in this case, she’s preaching to the choir, I will say this much: I have met leftists, particularly atheist leftists for whom I have absolutely ZERO use. One…male…used to sing in the choir at Church. People fawned over him because he is a true bass voice, but, frankly, he is a horse’s backside taking pleasure in the misfortune of those he does not like. That’s not the only reason I can’t abide being in his presence (he SUCKS as a musician, but that’s another story). The prick and his Karen of a wife like to lecture people without all the details. He also was nasty to his step-daughters.

She’s got a peculiarity in her accent I hadn’t noticed before on this side of the Atlantic, where some words with an “ah” sound get raised to something that to me sounds like “oh” (but it’s a very open (deep pitched) o…it borders on being an “ah”). I hear that in a lot of accents from Britain too.

          It shows up in “not” and “all” as well as other words, but those two show up a lot.

          The phonologists render that sound with a symbol they call an open O (but looks like a backward C). Oddly when an American pronounces that sound to demonstrate it (e.g., in the wikipedia sample), it comes out as “ah”, but a Brit will pronounce it like, well, an open (tongue lower in the mouth) “o”.

          (I just played the sample, and if anything, it’s right on the border to me between “ah” and “oh”, it doesn’t sound Murican and doesn’t sound Limey either.)

Others go even further and claim that “the dialect of the Appalachian people is the oldest living English dialect, older than the speech of Shakespeare, closer to the speech of Chaucer,” apparently preserved by a brutally impoverished rural existence in the isolation of their mountain fastness, with little contact from the modern civilizing ways of outsiders….

            She may be from the West Virginia or Virginia mountains and retained a bit of that Old English pronunciation.

In other words, that the raised ah she exhibits is a new innovation in England. Of course either my recollection could be wrong–or the philologists could be.


            2. Gail that is true, I am in Appalachia people came here from Whales to work in the Coal mines. The language has not changed much neither costumes and clan like families. Same with food. My sons wives grandfather grew up not far from where I lives and moved to West Virginia.

      Dressage was training for WAR HORSES.

      In War the horse ends this move by striking straight out with the front hooves.

      1. I started training in dressage years ago after Hunter/Jumper class. Just loved it! Each horse and rider are paired with same experience.

        I never progressed much because I started college. Would have loved to have continued.

        In the mounted Courbette the video shows, since horse and rider are always to become one unit, this is one of the movements where the one astride shifts weight and the legs position forward to assist the frontal rise of the horse.

        Quite a draining movement, IMHO.

        When one rides, the thighs are in heavy use all the time for stabilization. Proportion of stirrups to length of leg and weight of the rider is part of the entire component. Heels down, toes in.

        In this particular position, this is like holding onto a ladder up a two storey building with your thighs at a 45 degree angle with no hands on the ladder. Tough for the rider.

              Since my O2 sat is between 92% and 94% while sitting and drops like a rock when I walk fast I am NOT kidding!

                My O2 when at quack offices normally ~97 or so. Bought a O2 via Amazon after O2 meters were mentioned here back Feb. My reading with it has been 92-95. Not sure if it is faulty, not calibrated or whatever…accurate.

                Have noted the number. But, I WON’T visit a quack until the hysteria winds down. Have a standard six month appointment late August. May or may not keep it. Depends on the prevailing nonsense at the time.

          Did a report on his work in 6th grade. It’s never left me. The only MAJOR MAJOR masterwork of his I haven’t seen is the Moses. I’ve been to Rome twice and both times was in spitting distance from San Pietro In Vincoli and just haven’t gotten there to see it.

          The David, among the Pieta, the dome on San Pietro, the Last Judgement and the Sistine Chapel ceiling is probably the least impressive on first impression until you realize what had to be overcome to make it work including other artists having tried to work the marble.
