Dear KAG: 20200624 Open Thread

Let’s see, how has Q inspired us today….

Well, the singer may not need an F-15, but I wouldn’t mind one.

Okay, some travelling music on this journey we call life.

And now for the obligatory message from our sponsors:

Here at the Q tree we believe in the concept of CIVIL open free speech and the discussion that fleshes out ideas. When commenting and participating in the OPEN discussion on this thread all comments MUST NOT CONTAIN personal threats, baiting, name calling, or other anti-social words fomenting hate, violence or destruction. Our host Wolfm00n has strict rules about that.

Fellow tree dweller Wheatie gave us some good reminders on the basics of civility in political discourse:

  1. No food fights.
  2. No running with scissors.
  3. If you bring snacks, bring enough for everyone.

In addition, it is requested that there be no swinging from the chandeliers, celebratory gunfire, messing around with the nuclear weapons, and, please, everyone wash your hands.

Please, do not forget to apply sunscreen after a sensible amount of time in the sun so as to beef up the level of vitamin D in the system.

Please remember to remain locked and loaded and ready for trouble should the insurrectionists try to invade your space.

Those who have things to say that do not fit the generally accepted limits of “civil” discussion, Wolf has provided a venue known as the UTree which is currently going through its water cooler/canteen phase. Please, venture over there for any such thoughts and comments. This sort of thing is always a possibility on that site:

A few other vital notes:

Please, review these rules that our host Wolfm00n outlined toward the beginning of the growth of the tree itself. it won’t take long.

Ridiculing the other side, on the other hand…well….

IS 49:1-6

Hear me, O coastlands,
listen, O distant peoples.
The LORD called me from birth,
from my mother’s womb he gave me my name.
He made of me a sharp-edged sword
and concealed me in the shadow of his arm.
He made me a polished arrow,
in his quiver he hid me.
You are my servant, he said to me,
Israel, through whom I show my glory.

Though I thought I had toiled in vain,
and for nothing, uselessly, spent my strength,
yet my reward is with the LORD,
my recompense is with my God.
For now the LORD has spoken
who formed me as his servant from the womb,
that Jacob may be brought back to him
and Israel gathered to him;
and I am made glorious in the sight of the LORD,
and my God is now my strength!
It is too little, he says, for you to be my servant,
to raise up the tribes of Jacob,
and restore the survivors of Israel;
I will make you a light to the nations,
that my salvation may reach to the ends of the earth.

As always, prayers for the fight against that which seeks to enslave us are welcome.

Please include: President Donald Trump, the Q team, our soldiers in the field, special forces, tactical units, members of the Cabinet, first responders and those working behind the scenes.

May you live in interesting times…yeah another thing we got from China, a crappy fortune.

When Trump said in 2017 that statue destroyers would soon move from Robert E. Lee to George Washington and Thomas Jefferson, he was mocked by all major media as being stupid and not understanding history. He was right and they were wrong. Again.

What media figures assured the public was absurd when President Trump said it in 2017 is now coming to fruition in cities across the country.

    1. Isn’t it time to topple and destroy THESE statures?

The Statue of Lenin, Seattle, is a 16 ft (5 m) bronze statue of Communist revolutionary Vladimir Lenin, by Bulgarian sculptor Emil Venkov. It was completed and put on display in the Czechoslovak Socialist Republic in 1988, the year before the Velvet Revolution of 1989. In 1993 the statue was bought by an American who had found it lying in a scrapyard.

There is a second one in Atlantic City, New Jersey; and a third in New York City.

      August 16, 2017

There are several statues of the Russian communist leader Vladimir Lenin across the U.S. which people are beginning to protest….

The calls comes after a group of protesters toppled a monument of a Confederate soldier in Durham, N.C., Monday evening in response to a white nationalist rally that turned violent over the weekend in Charlottesville, Va.

During the protest, a woman climbed up the statue located at the entrance of the Durham County courthouse and affixed a rope just after 7 p.m. EST. The group quickly pulled the statue from the its pedestal and began spitting on it and kicking it when it fell to the ground.

A group of Trump supporters decided to start a protest in front of a statue of Lenin Wednesday. Their is a Facebook group that was created, called, “Seattle, Tear Down this Vladimir Lenin statue!” Which focuses on removing the statue in Seattle….

  2. Hannity characterized or titled what’s happening in many of our cities now as “Cities in Crisis”. Now, that may be a cutesy way of titling, but a piss poor way of communicating the actual situation.

We don’t have a generic, unspecified problem of “Cities in Crisis” . . . we have a very specific and identifiable problem of liberal Democrat Governors and Mayors failing to suppress full-blown anarchy in their streets.

I believe the situation should be characterized in that manner.

    1. Short and sweet

No need to dress it up in pretty words.

William R. Russell was in Russia soon after the Bolsheviks seized power and spent considerable time there, working on Creel propaganda against the Germans, for the Bolsheviks, and later against the Bolsheviks. Russell described how he saw the communist tradecraft:

The way they worked their way to the seizure of power was as follows: Talk about peace, talk about social equality, especially among those most oppressed. Talk about organization of labor, and penetrate into every labor union. Talk on soapboxes. Publish pamphlets and papers. Orate and harangue. Play on envy. Arouse jealousy. Separate class from class. Try to break down the democratic processes from within. Accustom the people to picketing, strikes, mass meetings. Constantly attack the leaders in every way possible so that the people will lose confidence. Then in time of national peril, during a war, on the occasion of a great disaster, or of a general strike, walk into the capital and seize the power. A well-organized minority can work wonders.

  3. That Massive Saharan Dust Storm triggered this memory/information.

DUST as a major forcing in Glaciation

    Dr. Richard B. Alley observations:
(Alley is a darling of Al Gore BTW)

“‘You did not need to be a trained ice core observer to see this,’ recalled Alley. ‘Ken Taylor is sitting there with the ECM and he’s running along and his green line is going wee, wee, wee, wee – Boing! Weep! Woop! And then it stays down.’ Dust in the windy ice age atmosphere lowered the acidity of the core to a completely new state. ‘We’re just standing there and he just draws a picture of it,”‘Alley said.”

…and then it was Alley’s turn at the ice. “It slides across in front of me and I’m trying to identify years: ‘That’s a year, that’s a year and that’s a year, and – woops, that one’s only half as thick.’ And it’s sitting there just looking at you. And there’s a huge change in the appearance of the ice, it goes from being clear to being not clear, having a lot of dust.”

Climate Crash: Abrupt Climate Change and What it Means for our Future by John D. Cox, (John Henry Press, an imprint of the National Academies Press, ISBN: 0-309-54565-X, 224 pages, 2005)

Ralph Ellis came up with a very rational, believable mechanism combining, Co2 (plant starvation) Dust and Albedo.

You can also toss in volcanoes. (MilSpecMonkey has noted major increase) The KEY is a change in albedo, the amount of sunlight that warms the earth.

    Ralph’s paper:
Modulation of ice ages via precession and dust-albedo feedbacks.

    Discussion from WUWT
New paper: Modulation of Ice Ages via Precession and Dust-Albedo Feedbacks

A brief summary of the new paper published in Science Direct

It is an interesting story that demonstrates that CO2 is only a bit-player in the drama of world climate, while the main characters are ice, dust and albedo.
Modulation of ice ages via precession and dust-albedo feedbacks.
The paper is open access, so all readers can view it.
    Summary by Ralph Ellis

Why do ice ages occur? Surprisingly, even after many decades of paleoclimatic research we simply do not know for sure…

But why should the global climate give a selective response to orbital warming and cooling? (Called ‘forcing’ in the climate trade.) This is one of the great unknowns of modern science. Many suggestions have been made, from interstellar dust blocking sunlight to the weight of the ice sheets depressing the lithosphere and warming the ice. And yet all of these theories share one thing in common – they stretch credulity. The only thing that is certain, is that the science is not settled in this area of climate research.

But a new peer-reviewed theory by independent researcher Ralph Ellis may have unlocked this perennial conundrum of paleoclimatology.*1 And considering the myriad implications that flow from this theory, its mechanism is nevertheless very simple to understand.

What we need is a selective feedback system that can act either in concert with or in opposition to, the warming and cooling provided by the ~23,000-year Great Year. At present it is claimed that this feedback agent is CO2…. But there is a big problem with this assertion, because when CO2 concentrations reach a minimum in the depths of the ice age, the world warms. And when CO2 concentrations reach a maximum during the warm interglacial period, the world cools. And yet this is the very opposite of what should happen if CO2 was the primary warming feedback agent.

This is where the new theory by Ralph Ellis shifts the paradigm, and the primary character in this new climatic drama is albedo – the reflectivity of the Earth. Obviously polar ice sheets are highly reflective, they have a high albedo, and reflect up to 90% of the incident sunlight during the all-important northern summer. The cooling effect from this high albedo allows the polar ice sheets to slowly grow, year after year, and slowly reflect more and more incident sunlight in the process. And this ice-albedo reflection mechanism is so strong, it can even resist the next Great Summer when northern sunlight (insolation) is once again at a maximum, which is why some Great Summers produce no global warming whatsoever.

But if albedo is so strong that it can shrug off the increased sunlight of a Great Summer, then how does the climate system generate an interglacial warming? The answer is that ice-sheet albedo has a very prominent Achilles heel – dust. If dust gets on ice sheets their albedo is reduced considerably and they can melt very quickly. And surprising as it may seem this is exactly what happens, because every interglacial warming period is preceded by about 10,000 years of intense dust storms. And we know that this dust settles on polar ice-sheets, because the ice-cores taken from Greenland and Antarctica still contain that dust. And in Greenland, the majority of this dust appears to have originated from the Gobi Desert. But rather than being a shifting-sand desert most of the Gobi is currently pastoral steppe grasslands, where the herds of the Mongolian nomads graze….

Earth’s Albedo Tells an Interesting Story
    Anthony Watts / October 17, 2007

Thanks to one of our commenters (thanks Henry), this unique project called “Earthshine” being done at the Big Bear Solar Observatory has been brought to my attention. The project is simple in concept:

The Earth’s climate depends on the net sunlight deposited on the globe, which is critically sensitive to the Earth’s albedo. A global and absolutely calibrated albedo can be determined by measuring the amount of sunlight reflected from the Earth and, in turn, back to the Earth from the dark portion of the face of the Moon (the `earthshine’ or `ashen light’)….

As of 2007: (project died in 2009 — SURPRISE!)

    1. I mention this because I have thought for years that the ELITE KNEW a new Ice Age was coming soon and you can trace that knowledge back to 1970s when George Kukla followed by Shackleton, Hays and Imbrie found the evidence to support the Milankovitch cycles.

The 1970s is when ever thing here in the USA suddenly changed for the worse.

      Here is the timing:
1969 Food Crisis due to GLOBAL COOLING (grain storage decrease)

In 1970 you had “Who controls the food supply controls the people; who controls the energy can control whole continents; who controls money can control the world”. – Henry Kissinger.

In 1972 you had Environmentalism and “Global Warming” promoted by TPTB in the First Earth Summit chaired by Maurice Strong.

And last but not least you had the CIA document dated 1974 predicting an Ice Age.

Next we need to look at what happen BEFORE the items mentioned above.

First Gleissberg (1939 & 1971) identified an 88 yr cycle in the weather patterns *

Gleissberg’s work meant you could predict the next warming spell. What was interesting was that in 1972 the world was STILL in a cool phase and would not start warming for another couple of years! So how come Maurice Strong was already hyping “Global Warming” in 1972?

The second really interesting point was the Milankovitch Cycles that predict Ice Ages.

Milankovitch published “Astronomical Methods for Investigating Earth’s Historical Climate” in 1938. His work was of great interest especially during the 1963 International Geophysical Year.

George Kukla, together with Robert Matthews of Brown University, convened a conference in 1972 entitled “The Present Interglacial: How and When will it End?”, and reported it in Science magazine…
Kukla and Matthews alerted President Richard Nixon, and as a result the US Administration set up a Panel on the Present Interglacial involving the State Department and other agencies. None of us knew then that the mid-century cooling was about to be punctuated by a warming spell from the late 1970s to the mid 1990s….

A more definitive confirmation of Milankovitch came in 1976, in a paper by Hays, Imbrie and Shackleton, using Shackleton’s data in the figure above. But long before either that paper or my own, there was widespread behind-the-scenes acceptance of Milankovitch, and Kukla, for one, was concerned about the implications…..

So at this point we have a possible start of a Grand Solar Minimum + Increased Earthquake and Volcaneos (expected) + Dust storm….
I would imagine the Elite are really panicking about now.

I know of no one personally in my life (except for Q tree) that had the virus – but a good friend had a heart attack because her cardiologist visit was delayed into a phone call. And when they finally saw her in June, they said, “You need a cardiac cath.” Scheduled 5 days later. She had a heart attack on the two days before the cath. She got a stent.

All these delayed diagnostic tests, treatments, and general medical care is going to come back to haunt our people. We had 28 deaths in 3 months in my city of 1/2 million! What the heck do people think hospitals are for? To care for sick people – not leave them empty and furlough staff.

The airport was far more relaxed than normal. Security is normally a rushed madhouse. This evening, not at all. The special needs nephew is a handful, and the TSA people understood. So did the airline hostess who was kind enough to check on my mother and my nephew before departure to be sure they were settled. Hand him his Nintendo Switch and he’s fine for hours, but without it, and being excited to go home he was hyper all day.

Really, other than the face burkas, I can’t say enough for the Southwest Airlines hospitality people. They really are caring and pay attention to detail.
