Dear KAG: 20200528 Open Thread

To celebrate America’s return to space even if the weather didn’t cooperate, here’s a little launch music.

As usual, this is the daily thread, the place to put all information that needs to be out there – Q drops, news flashes, WuFlu updates, satire, memes, and of course cute animal videos.

In the meantime, the short and sweet version of “THE RULES” is here borrowed from Tuesday:

Guidelines for posting and discussion on this site were outlined by our host, WolfM00n. Please, review them from time to time.

The discourse on this site is to be CIVIL – no name calling, baiting, or threatening others here is allowed. Those who are so inclined may visit Wolf’s other sanctuary, the U-Tree, to slog it out.

This site is a celebration of the natural rights endowed to humans by our Creator as well as those enshrined in the Bill of Rights adopted in the founding documents of the United States of America. Within the limits of law, how we exercise these rights is part of the freedom of our discussion.

Fellow tree dweller Wheatie gave us some good reminders on the basics of civility in political discourse:

  1. No food fights.
  2. No running with scissors.
  3. If you bring snacks, bring enough for everyone.

Since it is almost the weekend, the reminders are in place to not swing from the chandeliers, wash your hands and face, marinate the ribs, and be nice to the liberals whether they deserve it or not. Making your bed, OTOH, is optional.

And now for a little weekend warm-up dance music to blare in the neighborhood or at the state capitol of your choice.

JN 17:20-26

Lifting up his eyes to heaven, Jesus prayed saying:
“I pray not only for these,
but also for those who will believe in me through their word,
so that they may all be one,
as you, Father, are in me and I in you,
that they also may be in us,
that the world may believe that you sent me.
And I have given them the glory you gave me,
so that they may be one, as we are one,
I in them and you in me,
that they may be brought to perfection as one,
that the world may know that you sent me,
and that you loved them even as you loved me.
Father, they are your gift to me.
I wish that where I am they also may be with me,
that they may see my glory that you gave me,
because you loved me before the foundation of the world.
Righteous Father, the world also does not know you,
but I know you, and they know that you sent me.
I made known to them your name and I will make it known,
that the love with which you loved me
may be in them and I in them.”

Here’s to avoiding speed traps and liberal Karens empowered by the nanny state who feel they must lecture the rest of us on proper social distancing and decorum.

  1. Clinical trial for HCQ + zinc + Azithromycin vs. HCQ + zinc + doxycycline – Dr. Zev Zelenko is involved. (This could also be a way to get the Zelenko Protocol if your MD or state denies it to you.) Trial started 28 Apr 2020 – still looking for participants.

St. Francis Hospital, The Heart Center® Launches Outpatient Covid-19 Hydroxychloroquine Trial

If you have questions or are interested, please contact us at:
    (516) 414-3056, or

    Now enrolling qualifying outpatients.

Recent studies suggest that early intervention with hydroxychloroquine and zinc has benefit and seems to be safe even in hospitalized patients, while late administration in critically-ill patients has little efficacy and may be harmful.

We have launched a clinical trial at St. Francis Hospital using these potentially helpful agents in non-hospitalized patients with early COVID-19 symptoms to try to gain maximum benefit from this treatment. Our protocol emphasizes safety, with cardiologists at St. Francis Hospital remotely monitoring the EKG for everyone participating in the study.

Patients can be enrolled remotely, allowing people from across the country access to this protocol. All medications and a Kardia EKG monitor are provided free of charge.

We encourage people who have COVID-19 symptoms to test early and take advantage of all therapeutic options that may be available.

Have you been diagnosed with COVID-19 in the past 48-hours?
You can participate in the trial from the comfort of your home.

Seeking individuals age 30 and over with recent onset COVID-19 symptoms and/or a positive COVID-19 test within the prior 2 days.

High risk individuals without contraindications will be enrolled.
All participants enrolled will receive medications free of charge.
All participants enrolled will receive a portable EKG device to monitor their heart at home.
All participants will receive regular follow-up phone calls from our research nurses.

“The medications we’re using in this trial have shown promise in outpatients treated early after onset of COVID-19 symptoms,” says Avni Thakore, MD, Chief Medical Officer, CHS Physicians Partners Medical Group. “Our randomized clinical trial will help determine the effectiveness of this much discussed treatment.”

If you have questions or are interested in this protocol, please contact us at: (516) 414-3056.

    1. Did you watch that video with the rabbi as well? Evidently Zelenko has been being harassed by the political leaders of Kiryas Joel, as well as another physician. For over two months. They filed a complaint against him with the AG of NY. He has moved his practice out of Monroe, NY to Monsey, NY. I noticed there’s a scrape on his forehead in that video.

  3. Cuomo tried blaming POTUS for the nursing home fiasco…didn’t hold, so now it was the RESPONSIBILITY of the nursing homes to IGNORE his ORDER…
Democratic New York Gov. Andrew Cuomo passed the buck on the nursing home tragedy Wednesday, saying nursing homes should have ignored his order and refused to take elderly patients infected with the coronavirus.

“The obligation is on the nursing home to say, ‘I can’t take a COVID-positive person. I’m too crowded. I’m too busy. I don’t have enough PPE.’ Whatever the answer is; it doesn’t even matter. If they say, ‘I can’t take the person,’ they can’t take the person. So … that’s how it works.”

      Hmm…so, “that’s how it works.”…?

Does that mean that NY residents can do the same thing with all the other stupid orders that Cuomo has given?

They can now just say…”Nope. I can’t do that.”

      And Cuomo will say, “Okay”?

Plenty of backroom deals ….. oh I mean incentives for the Rinos to get them to agree. Pretty much one party in NY. The Cuomo Party .

    2. Here is Cuomo’s actual order. Note the nursing homes ARE NOT ALLOWED TO TEST FOR CCP VIRUS!

(This is WHY the order was FIRST removed from the internet BUT we got copies (tee hee 🖕 )

      Note third paragraph:
During this global health emergency, all NHs must comply with the expedited receipt of residents
returning from hospitals to NHs. Residents are deemed appropriate for return to a NH upon a
determination by the hospital physician or designee that the resident is medically stable for return.”

“No resident shall be denied re-admission or admission to the NH solely based on a confirmed or
suspected diagnosis of COVID-19. NHs are prohibited from requiring a hospitalized resident who is
determined medically stable to be tested for COVID-19 prior to admission or readmission.”

I took a lot of items to the SPCA thrift shop today and wanted to enter…was I could not go in without a mask. I said I cannot wear a mask and you are not allowed to deny my entrance…the young man replied, you are not allowed in without a mask. He was very rude about it!

      1. The order is dated 25 March. You can go to Mark Levin’s archive (free of course) and pull out audio rewind for that day. The Nursing Home Association for that area called in to Levin’s radio show and described exactly what was happening, talking about that order and how they had tried to get it reversed the same day the order came out. The woman described that order to a t and the fact of how the state was not being responsive even though they were pointing out the likely result of having to follow the order. She later came back on the show some time after all the deaths started piling up and talked it again. Both very dramatic shows. I wish I could remember the second date, though it wasn’t the only times it was talked.

      2. I don’t know why POTUS hasn’t brought the issue up. There should be a federal investigation. What Cuomo did is criminal. Word is that the Big Cheese executives donated to the Dems/Governor, and in legislation at the end of March – protection from liabilities for the nursing homes was sneakily inserted into legislation..

I believe that the placement of COVID positive patients into nursing homes was deliberate – to drive up the fatalities. Cuomo, (NY) New Jersey, Pennsylvania, and Michigan all did the same thing – their death totals are over 50% coming from their nursing homes.

Anyone, Anyone, with half a conscience would have been able to tell the Governor that it SHOULD NOT BE DONE!

Everyone knows that nursing homes are not equipped to handle serious isolation patients – that’s why we have hospitals – for the staffing & resources. Cuomo denied alternative resources to the nursing homes. Federal Investigation needed. @realDonaldTrump #DOJ @KerriKupecDOJ

    Jordan Schachtel@JordanSchachtel

On that note, you all need to stop reporting the 5000-6000 number as if it’s legitimate. A good ballpark # on NY’s nursing home death toll is upwards of 15k.

    Donald Scherer@donald_scherer

It is higher. Nursing home regulations require anyone who is sick to be transported. Moreover, in general EMTs in New York cannot declare someone dead and must transport where they would be declared at the hospital. The only people that died at a home are those who die overnight.

    Donald Scherer@donald_scherer
If 6000 died at the nursing home, without being transported, it means that 3 or 4x the number were transported and died at the hospital and that represents the massive undercount. Again, dying IN a nursing home is the exception not the rule because it is against EMS state policy.

    1. SO HAPPY, I visited HK when I did!! I fell in love with it, especially the other side of the city from downtown. In fact, I called DH while there and said…”let’s move to Hong Kong for a couple of years! LOL
I wonder what will happen to the beautiful homes, the race track, the tram, the beach and tennis clubs, private schools and all the international financial managers that own them. There was a tremendous amount of wealth concentrated in that small enclave…and I’m talking barely 5 years ago. I was told even at the time people were starting to pull their money out of HK and going to Vancouver, BC.
My memories are very happy ones from my short visit …I’ll treasure those.

    1. The Quarter is one thing, the Garden District, no. Not even. I would rather walk those streets in the Quarter mainly because they are so narrow and it’s a grid (and not all that big), but they have to allow for delivery, people who live there, and guests. One way traffic might be a solution.

    2. This is the same type of thing that’s already happening in New York City and Cincinnati. New York City will close 100 miles of streets to vehicular traffic within the next few months. Cincinnati is starting out with closures around the center of the downtown business district.
The New Orleans article says the mayor is going to close off the French Quarter first, then expand from there. The “task force” is looking into “reshaping the French Quarter and other city areas to exclude vehicular traffic”.

New Orleans is just another example of implementing the U.N. “Agenda 21 Walkable Communities” concept.

  18. “Big Day For Fairness” – White House Plans To Empower FCC To Regulate American Social Media Giants

“[Social media giants] possess a dangerous power.”

Update (0850ET): Fox Business has just confirmed that President Trump plans to sign an executive order to implement everything we’ve discussed below.

    Edward Lawrence✔@EdwardLawrence

FOX Business Network confirms that the President Trump is considering an Executive Order regarding social media companies. The EO would examine the legal protections that social media companies enjoy. #SocialMedia

    8:51 AM – May 28, 2020

Fox reporter Edward Lawrence claims that the order will “examine the legal protections” enjoyed by these companies, suggesting that the administration will also lay out its legal rationale for regulating speech on these platforms in this way.

Update (0840ET): Just as we expected, President Trump just confirmed that he will be rolling out his administration’s agenda for regulating speech on American social media platforms on Thursday – and will probably make a show of it, to keep the news media focused on his latest culture war, and less about the growing coronavirus death toll.

During a live on-air report, CNBC’s Ylan Mui shared what appeared to be the first details of the White House’s plan, which the president said would be released on Thursday. According to Mui, the White House plans to empower the FCC to write guidelines for American social media companies to help them determine what content should and shouldn’t be removed. The guidelines will make clear what social media companies can do while retaining the ‘liability shield’, while also warning how they might lose that protection by being too proactive.

Notably, the plan relies on the executive branch’s nearly untrammeled power over the vast federal bureaucracy: Once again, Trump plans to bypass Congress – which has long been reluctant to make any changes to the 1996 Communications Decency Act to account for the advent of social media – to accomplish what has become a critical piece of his agenda ahead of the November election. The DoJ will also be required to create a working group with state AGs, along with a list of other provisions.

“We cannot allow a handful of online platforms to handpick and censor the speech Americans read online,” an anonymous administration official told Mui. “[Social media giants] possess a dangerous power.”

There will be a review process before the rules can be implemented, and it’s possible they may never be enacted.

And as Mui pointed out, companies face newfound political uncertainty as regulating speech on these platforms becomes a “political football”.

According to CNBC, the draft text of the order mentioned two companies by name: Twitter and Facebook. Shares of both companies tumbled in pre-market trade on the news.

    1. As Jonathan Turley noted:

The expectation is that the Trump executive order on social media will include a review of Section 230 of the Federal Communications Act for the possible elimination of protections for Twitter and other social media companies. The effort would be hard to succeed without congressional action. As a private actor, Twitter is not the subject of the First Amendment but the President and his administration are. There are also separation of powers concerns with any unilateral or constructive amendment of Section 230.

Trump in my view is right in condemning the action of Twitter. The focus should be on the company’s assault on free speech principles. Anyone who values free speech on the Internet and social media should be appalled by this action regardless of their feelings about Pres. Trump.

        1. Turley’s forgotten that VSGPDJT has a number of emergency powers (some of which Øblowhole originated via EO and intended to use) which, in combination with the various emergency orders (heyyyy, Corona) give him some rather powerful tools with which to level the social media playing field.

No matter what President Trump does, the DEMONicRATS will paint it as racist, a political move, or some other projection…

So the only alternative is to do the right thing. Take away (anti-)social media’s immunity from lawsuits and other liabilities.

Brian Cates (drawandstrike) had this to say at

“Well there goes that useless clueless blowhard bluffing out of his piehole again!” – all the concern trolls & bad faith Conservative pundits who just spent months telling you Trump was blind to/wasn’t taking any action on social media censorship.

          Donald J. Trump✔ @realDonaldTrump
Twitter has now shown that everything we have been saying about them (and their other compatriots) is correct. Big action to follow!

          Only he wasn’t BLUFFING.

We’re still in a NATIONAL EMERGENCY.

          He has very real POWERS.

If he tells Twitter to stop the censorship, they have to stop it or he will order the FCC to shut them down.
There are people who have a business model for their “conservative” websites where they deliberately put out whatever narratives will get them the most clicks.

And the “Trump’s blind to social media censorship!” & “He won’t do anything REAL about it!” are narratives that WORK.
Trump’s been **planning** to do this for a long time.

But he had to WAIT for Twitter to take blatant action against HIM to write this EO and sign it.

They’ve now blatantly censored him while leaving Biden alone.

They are interfering in the election, and not subtly.

    1. It’s six pages long and a pretty quick read. I have no legal expertise, but it looks as if these companies are put on notice to shape up or else. Heads of federal agencies are being ordered to assess how much their agencies spend on advertising and marketing on social media platforms (which I didn’t know was happening) and within 30 days to report to the Director of the Office of Management and Budget. The issue of being a platform vs. a publisher is addressed. Over the last year, 16,000 complaints of tech censorship have been lodged with the WH Office of Digital Strategy. The FTC is ordered to consider action if appropriate. It looks as if these companies will have to make changes. It will be interesting to see their response. (And if it’s “the government is censoring me,” that’s not gonna fly.)

  21. hmmm…mistaken identity? uh huh… DOCTOR who died of COVID-19 was not a doctor…
An earlier version of this article described an account that circulated among doctors in April about a 26-year-old medical resident training in New York who was said to have died of Covid-19 in a New York City hospital. This account was verified with sources involved in the patient’s care, but further reporting after publication revealed that it was apparently a case of mistaken identity. According to a spokeswoman for the American College of Emergency Physicians, a 26-year-old man who died from complications related to coronavirus had the same name as a young medical resident at a different hospital. Health workers involved in the patient’s treatment mistakenly believed that he was a medical resident, but ACEP said it had subsequently confirmed that it was not the same man and that the medical resident with that name was healthy. The reference to that case has been removed from the article.

So remember in April when The NY Times Magazine ran a cover story that was the diary of an ER doctor in NYC—and the piece reported on the death of a 26 year old doctor?

Well, it turns out the doctor didn’t die—or even have covid.

    1. In this case data would change as cause of death is reclassified or not put in the right column to begin with.

Dr. Birx did say that they were being liberal with the cause of death counts.

The question is how far back to go when it comes to numbers, and have they always been manipulated.

Then…all those medical journals from the past…I wonder how many have been digitized. I would be willing to bet money I don’t have that there’s all sorts of information there that the pharmas don’t want to become general knowledge.

    4. I have had several episodes of extreme vertigo. It turned out that the “crystals” which line the six canals of the inner ear had “shaken a few loose.” This caused the vertigo, as they moved around my ear canal. It was AWFUL.

I went to a specialized physical therapist, who ran me through tests using a headset which allowed her to observe my EYES on a large TV screen. I was in the headset in the dark, but by moving me around, she was able to make my eyes respond, and diagnose EXACTLY where the crystals were. She said she could diagnose brain tumors and other stuff, too.

She then put me through some CRAZY motions, essentially moving me forcefully around for a while. CURED!

If they don’t find things on the MRI, I CANNOT recommend this type of physical therapy enough!! Saved my life, and probably my sanity.

  26. Just an observation here . . . and if anyone has observed differently, please let me know.

I’ve read many accounts from front-line doctors, treating many patients with covid-19, who have noted their experiences with HCQ / Az / zinc . . . sometimes without Az or maybe zinc, sometimes with a different antibacterial . . . in other words, some differences.

All the doctors I’ve read about that have used HCQ speak of the success of HCQ in early treatment and, at times, when covid-19 is more advanced. I’ve never read reports from heavily involved front-line doctors that said that they’d tried HCQ as a part of their protocol with a variety of disease severities and have generally found it ineffective.

All the bad-mouthing of HCQ comes from studies that are seemingly carefully crafted to avoid using the exact Zelenko Protocol in early treatment of covid-19 patients.

This is not really surprising, considering the total self-interest of numerous doctors who don’t put the welfare of the patient as their primary and overriding interest, but appear to be driven by an agenda that involves Big Pharm.

Of course, I need to add the effect of the anti-Trump element, also.

Only thing is, I don’t know if anyone with Long Q-T syndrome or Torsades de pointes would make it into the military in the first place, or if ECGs are routinely given as part of a fitness check…

Come to think of it, were that data available, VSGPDJT would have sought and reviewed it before advocating HCQ+Z…
