Dear KAG!: 20200409 Open Thread

This Night before Daughn Thursday 20200409 Open Thread is Open – VERY OPEN – a place for everybody to post whatever they feel they would like to tell the White Hats, and the rest of the MAGA / KAG! / KMAG world (KMAG being a bit of both MAGA and KAG! You can say what you want, comment on what other people said, and so on.

Free Speech is practiced here. ENJOY IT. Use it or lose it.

However, we have a new policy. Starting 20191110. Keep it SOMEWHAT civil. We have a new board – actually a new SITE – called The U Tree – where people can take each other to the woodshed without fear of censorship or moderation. NOT HERE. This board will remain a REFUGE for those who need civility, either some or all of the time.

They tried to FORCE fake Orwellian civility on us. In response, we CHOOSE true civility to defend our precious FREEDOM from THEM. Our rules began with the civility of the Old Treehouse, later to become the Wolverinian Empire, and one might say that we have RESTORED THE OLD REPUBLIC – the early high-interaction model of the Treehouse – except of course that Q discussion is not only allowed but encouraged, and speech is considerably freer in other ways. Please feel free to argue and disagree with the board owner, as nicely as possible.

Please also consider the Important Guidelines, outlined here in the January 1st open thread. Let’s not give the odious Internet Censors a reason to shut down this precious haven.

SPEAK THE FIVE WORDS BOLDLY TO OUR PRESIDENT! “I AM PRAYING FOR YOU!“

Every day President Trump is been giving the people live press briefings to keep us informed along with his coronavirus task force updating all the news of the day.

The man is tireless trying to be positive and keep us upbeat after all the fear porn the media slings at us 24/7. These so called journalists (for the most part) are looking for any misstep POTUS might make to make him look bad but, he’s too quick on his feet and I love it when he gives them a little beat down.

such as

You know what I would like to see?
A new medal to honor the Bravery to stand up to the Malicious Satanic Media.
The First to be honored would be President Donald J. Trump who distinguished himself by unparalleled bravery by standing up against the Malicious Satanic Media and protecting the aware and unaware sleeping innocent citizens of our Republic.
With no regard for his own integrity and safety he fearlessly rushed the Enemy and subdued them with reason and selflessness to begin the fight to dismantle the lies and treachery of the NWO that seeks to destroy the UNITED STATES OF AMERICA.

President Donald J. Trump’s selfless acts of repeated valor and determination are in keeping with the highest traditions of Executive leadership and reflect great credit upon himself in the service to our nation.
Respectively,
WE THE PEOPLE

He bent the knee to China a long time ago.

He’s only ‘standing’ now because Xi told him to.

He’ll sit back down and shut up when Xi tells him to, too.

Even do a little jig, whatever Jinping-the-Pooh wants him to do. 👍

Even tell stories about little kids rubbing the hair on his legs and bouncing on his lap, he always loved bouncing kids on his lap you know, and smelling their hair, and stuff.

And if we’re good, maybe he’ll regale us once again with the Ballad of Corn-Pop 😂 😳 😂

In order to show everyone this is safe, Xi Jinping is going to go first, to lead by example, and plaster billboards all over the world with giant close-up photos of his own butthole.

Xi is very brave Chinaman, because he knows this means infinite loss of face.

        1. Those I posted don’t seem to be traditional furniture builders. Depends on what you and your wife might want….a family heirloom that takes a master craftsman or just something casual like a rustic coffee table. Some people have made kitchen cabinets if they had enough wood.

The man who made the pecan secretary for our family is long dead…. However, we had this father and son make a pair cypress chests 20 or so years ago, but I don’t know if they are still in business:

Tomorrow morning, I’ll ask unanimous consent to pass standalone emergency funding for the hugely popular Paycheck Protection Program that is saving small-business jobs as we speak. As the rest of the CARES Act continues to come online, this key part is already low on funds.

Nobody thinks tomorrow will be the Senate’s last word on COVID-19. Other crucial parts of the CARES Act, like its historic funds for hospitals and healthcare providers, are still coming online and have not yet been exhausted. The PPP is where the lights are already flashing red.

If we want to act fast, Congress has to focus. There is no realistic chance that another sprawling bill which allocates half a trillion dollars to a number of priorities, even important ones, will be able to pass the Senate or the House by unanimous consent this week.

Ten million Americans were laid off in just the last two weeks. Tomorrow morning will likely bring another historic unemployment figure. This is urgent. If Senators delay this urgent paycheck support to insist on a broader bill, more Americans will lose their jobs unnecessarily.

    @senatemajldr
I hope none of my colleagues object to my request for these urgently-needed funds. There is no reason why this bipartisan job-saving program should be held hostage for other priorities. Let’s re-fund the only program that’s already running dry and keep moving forward together.

We just found out that 16 million Americans have been laid off in three weeks. A staggering 10% of the labor force is now out of work. This is a crisis. No time for partisan maneuvering or politics as usual. I hope Democrats reverse course & let us increase paycheck support soon.

    Leader McConnell
    @senatemajldr
Senate Democrats just blocked urgent money for a popular, bipartisan job-saving program which they themselves literally coauthored with us two weeks ago. I complimented both sides and asked to increase the dollar amount without changing anything else. But they blocked it.

For some people, it is. That’s the problem. I doubt that Boris Johnson would have had to go to intensive care with seasonal influenza. If the problem is not the amount of oxygen, but its inability to be used or to get to the cells, then that is different than the flu. I think there is a lot that we still don’t know.

reading “The Happy Hollisters and the Ghost Horse Mystery” so lerned more about the Lippizzan horses including some short documentaries and the above linked movie.

He growing fast, (he has gone from size 8 to size 13W shoe in the last 17 months!) but we still still read to him and have book adventures together. Some books together as a family, many books that he and I read and some that are just for him and Dad. Great shared adventures and opportunities for conversations. His childhood is going so fast!

Anyway, good family movie. Can never read too many books together or create too many happy childhood memories!

    1. When I was a kid, I had the honor of watching the Lipizzaners led by Col. Alois Podhajsky at Madison Square Garden the year before he retired. It was a tribute to General Patton.

I then had a chance to see them again in Vienna when my ex was stationed in Germany.

One of my riding instructors, an Austrian, was trained at the school under Podhajsky. The other was a Nazi cavalierly officer. 😲 He was the better instructor. I wish the instructors today were as good as those two. Now the push is to get the kids jumping and into shows before they have a solid foundation aka a good seat (balance) and independent hands.

      ….

Don’t miss the Black Stallion series by Walter Farley. If you can get your hands on the 1960s editions the black and white drawings are superb. (I do not like the current colored illustrations.)

When he is a bit older: “All Creatures Great and Small” and the other books by James Herriot. The books are actually a series of short stories about his life as a country vet. I used the books one summer to get a boy friend’s son into reading. By the end of the summer he was reading the second book “All Things Bright and Beautiful” all by himself. Not bad for a kid who couldn’t read.

Very interesting to hear your stories of the horses! Patton’s widow was at the performance in NY of which you speak? Will read this to my son in a moment. Thank you for taking the time to share.

Black Stallion series is new to me! Thank you so much for the recommendation. I crawl the web looking for quality books for our son (and me!) to read. This series looks very promising.

He has known Man O War, Secretariat, Seabiscuit and some others since he was young. C. W. Anderson’s Billy & Blaze were favorites when he was young as well as other’s by the author. Marguerite Henry is another author whose horse stories he enjoyed. I have roots in KY and horses and seems they are in my son’s blood too!

An absolute favorite was the series of Beanie and Tough Enough by Ruth Carroll. The series is just boy and dog first and a horse is added later, a pony really. Loved that series. Based in TN + time in NC/Outer Banks so it was regional to our home states.

        Thanks for the recommendation!

I think it might go the opposite direction: that people will reach a saturation point, especially in areas with low infection rates, and just resume normal life. Corona fatigue could set in

The anal prints and data are stored in the cloud for doctors to access later. What could possibly go wrong? 💩
