Democrats and the MSM writ have been begging for our President to invoke the Defense Production Act to force companies to make equipment for the fight against the Coronavirus. There was no need to do so until yesterday. Most companies were already doing so on their own.

However, GM now states an inability to meet their prior commitments for the manufacture of ventilators:

From the link above:

Statement from the President Regarding the Defense Production Act:

Today, I signed a Presidential Memorandum directing the Secretary of Health and Human Services to use any and all authority available under the Defense Production Act to require General Motors to accept, perform, and prioritize Federal contracts for ventilators.

Our negotiations with GM regarding its ability to supply ventilators have been productive, but our fight against the virus is too urgent to allow the give-and-take of the contracting process to continue to run its normal course. GM was wasting time. Today’s action will help ensure the quick production of ventilators that will save American lives.

U.S. Treasury Secretary Steven Mnuchin called-in to Maria Bartiromo yesterday to discuss some of the details within the CARES Act, including when and how funds will be distributed.

The Treasury is using the architecture of the FDIC to be the point of contact for businesses who need short-term bridge funds to help carry them. Payments to workers should arrive in two to three weeks.

Keep in mind that the FDIC, already in a relationship with the bank, back-stops the funding while treasury underwrites the lending (a loan without payback).

Yesterday our President signed the Coronavirus Aid, Relief, and Economic Security Act (CARES Act) in the Oval Office.

The Republican Party held the line against the radical Democrats when it came to the final text in the CARES Act.

From the article linked above:

Senate Democrats and House Speaker Nancy Pelosi successfully blocked swift passage of a coronavirus rescue package bill, but they did not get much from Republicans in return.

In the days following the negotiations, Republicans repeatedly swatted down additions to the bill proposed by Schumer, Pelosi, and Senate Democrats, despite their best efforts to deliver for select special interests.

[…] Here are the top six items that Senate Republicans kept out of the bill, despite political pressure from the Democrats:

  1. Money for Planned Parenthood: Senate Democrats wanted to bail out the abortion industry by allowing rescue funds for Planned Parenthood, one of their biggest non-profit allies. But Senate Republicans included language in the bill that ensured Planned Parenthood and other non-profits were not eligible. Democrats fought hard to remove the language but were met with a hard no. The bill also included language from the Hyde Amendment, ensuring that taxpayer funds would not directly pay for abortions.
  2. Green New Deal: Senate Democrats felt that the emergency spending bill was an opportunity to slip in tax breaks to benefit wind and solar energy. Senate Republicans refused, and Senate Majority Leader Mitch McConnell hoisted their efforts to shoehorn green agenda interests as proof that Democrats were not serious about helping the country, as they voted to block the legislation.
  3. No Strings Funding for States: Senate Minority Leader Chuck Schumer tried to make sure that the billions of dollars sent to states could be used to fill holes in their budgets, especially in blue states that were already in debt. Senate Republicans, however, made sure that the emergency funding granted to states be used for coronavirus-related expenses. The rule vexed New York Governor Andrew Cuomo and other governors who wanted billions more funding with no strings attached.
  4. Federal Mandates for Early and Mail Voting: Congressional Democrats believed they could use the coronavirus crisis to create new federal mandates to override state election laws, forcing every state to develop early voting and elections through mail. Funding was ultimately sent to state election officials, but only for ways to protect voters from coronavirus.
  5. Postal Service Bailout: Democrats believed that the coronavirus crisis could be used to rescue the postal service, which continues to suffer massive deficits. Democrats wanted $20 billion in funding with no strings attached, but Senate Republicans replaced it with a loan that required them to spend it on the effects of the coronavirus.
  6. DHS Funding Restrictions: The bill includes transfer authorities that allows $289 million to be transferred to the Department of Homeland Security, but Democrats wanted some strings attached to the funding regarding ICE and immigration enforcement. The effort failed.

If you thought the Governor of Nevada was nuts, he has been overtaken by th3 MORONIC Governor of Michigan.

Governor Gretchen Whitmer of Michigan has threatened to turn the eye of the state upon any doctor or pharmacist who would attempt to prescribe chloroquine to treat their patients suffering from Coronavirus.

The agency’s March 24 letter warns physicians and pharmacists of professional consequences for the prescribing of hydroxychloroquine (and chloroquine). The letter also includes threats of “administrative action” against the licenses of doctors that prescribe hydroxychloroquine.

https://news.yahoo.com/michigan-governor-threatens-doctors-prescribe-024111454.html

From the article linked above:

Gov. Gretchen Whitmer’s Department of Licensing and Regulatory Affairs warns that prescribing hydroxychloroquine or chloroquine for treatment of COVID-19 ‘without further proof of efficacy’ may be investigated for administrative action…

This is the drug that the POS is trying to stop.

Our President decided to slap the POS around:

Our President and the Coronavirus Task Force held a press briefing yesterday with the latest updates and information.

Here are some shorter video clips:

Our President has appointed White House Manufacturing Advisor Peter Navarro (aka The Assassin) to lead all U.S. coordination of the Defense Production Act. CoC President Tom Donohue and President Xi will not be sleeping well this weekend!

From the article linked above:

President Trump announced Friday he is appointing his trade adviser Peter Navarro to serve as his national Defense Production Act policy coordinator after using the act to force General Motors to begin making ventilators to treat coronavirus patients.

“He’s a tremendous guy and he will do a fantastic job,” the president said during a press briefing with his coronavirus taskforce at the White House. He said Navarro will serve as the national Defense Production Act coordinator for the federal government.

Keep in mind that the Assassin has been a long-term China hawk warning about the risk of U.S. multinationals doing critical supply-chain manufacturing overseas.

Our President’s approval rating continues to rise with each passing day.

Meanwhile SleepyCreepy Joe still doesn’t have a clue!

American innovation is glorious to watch in action.

From the article linked above:

Abbott Laboratories won U.S. Food and Drug Administration approval for its molecular test for the Coronavirus strain COVID-19, which the company says can deliver “positive results in as little as five minutes and negative results in 13 minutes.”

The FDA’s “emergency use authorization” awarded to Abbott’s ID NOW COVID-19 test is the latest in a growing number of agency approvals for more rapid molecular “point-of-care” diagnostic tests that can be used in temporary screening locations, doctor’s office labs and nursing homes to detect the Coronavirus strain COVID-19 within a half hour.

“With rapid testing on ID NOW, healthcare providers can perform molecular point-of-care testing outside the traditional four walls of a hospital in outbreak hotspots,” Abbott president and chief operating officer Robert Ford said.

She is a total gem…Plus, she is bringing back the decorative scarf as a wardrobe staple! (Oh, yeah – I hope Nasty and all her little evil cohorts go to hell – soon.) Thanks for the round up Flep – especially the section on what the evil dimms Did Not get!

      1. I really enjoy the way a lot of ladies (especially here) seem to be able to “make an outfit”. I can match colors and patterns just fine–(it helps a lot in quilting) but accessorizing? never consider it. I match the top with the bottom and figure I’m good to go…I only have my wedding/engagement rings and 2 necklaces–a daily one and a diamond one…so jewelry is not an accessory to me…scarves? pins? separate purses (I have A purse)…don’t get me started on shoes…lol…I have 3 basic pair–sneakers, a pair of black flats and snow boots.
I would be horrible if i had a job in the public sector…
I really love to see FLOTUS–she pulls an outfit together!

        1. I’m growing more and more like you every day!

Never upgraded from black to chocolate or navy. Black is so easy to pack and match and accessorize.

I only dress up now for special business appointments and church. Then it’s black + whatever dressy top/scarf/beads I can grab!

          1. you have dressy tops? LOL
I have a black print top for funerals.
then I have the rest of my wardrobe–t shirts, BOTH short and long sleeved LOL and sweaters for the winter.
not a single dress…but I have 4 NFL jerseys. (older ones)
            jeans and knit pants.
            that’s it.

You sound like me. I have A purse. It is denim and resides hidden in my truck. My wallet and keys and change purse get stashed in various pockets of my jeans. And to pair with my jeans? tees or cowboy shirts of course. 😋 Dress-up? Clean black jeans and a very fancy embroidered cowboy shirt.

Shoes? My rubber muck boots or my New Balance walking shoes.

I do have better clothes but I haven’t worn them in years.

        3. I actually purged a number of my purses, but there’s a few I will not part with:

My medium Longaberger Basket which I’ll get out here soon.

A black leather cross body that is so classic I’ve thought about having it made in colors. I bought it from a street vendor in Pisa and will not part with it no matter how much other women offer me for it.

I have a little black one with lady bugs, and one with martini glasses on it.

I’m always on the hunt for cross body purses. I don’t need to carry much, and they are safer and more convenient to carry, IMO.

Now my wardrobe consists of 3 long-sleeved black tops, 3 white ones, 3 short-sleeve black t-shirts and 3 white ones, 3 pair of stretchy leggings, a pair of hiking shoes, tennies, birkenstocks, and a couple of coats, and pj’s. I have lots of winter scarves. That’S it 🤓

She doesn’t talk down to us; she doesn’t get ruffled by the press; and she conducts herself as a real professional. 2. I haven’t seen it mentioned much, but did the act include 350 billion for migrant and refugee assistance or not? This was a bitter pill to swallow, if so. I am hoping the President kinda forgets to distribute this somehow….

    1. IIRC, it was 350M. Not B. Either way it is too much. That said, whoever is controlling the expenditures can influence where it is specifically used. President Trump’s team has a way of, as they say, making lemonade out of lemons.

  3. Flep, I was concerned yesterday about Michigan. MJ Shepphard (SHEPMJS) had a tweet discussion regarding two polls (I supposedly from each “side”) – the polls indicated that James (running for Senate) was now underwater, and POTUS’ numbers were also underwater. DJT won Michigan in 2016 – I have a hard time seeing how they could be trending away, although the unions are a big factor.

In fact, many of the polls still are frustrating – while the Left leaning ones are weighted to show POTUS polling poorly, some from our side appear to show the same thing.

The Dems would vote for a garbage bag if it has a “D” on it. That’s how ignorant they are of their candidates. Sad.

    1. I would not trust any polls coming out of Michigan. It is one of the most difficult state to poll. The craziness of the Governor is going to backfire BIGLY in November. Especially when more data is shown pertaining to the drugs she is stopping.

      1. Thanks Flep. Figured you saw the same info I read, and it was just astounding. Our guts tells us one thing – and no way, Michigan which DJT did win against a much more challenging situation… well, this just doesn’t fit. It’s tough when our own side gives credence to the polls without caveats.

        Logic just tells us otherwise.

  4. About Harvard educated, Peter Navarro, The Assassin: (bold mine)

“Navarro was born on July 15, 1949, in Cambridge, Massachusetts. Navarro’s father, Alfred “Al” Navarro, a saxophonist and clarinetist, led a house band, which played summers in New Hampshire and winters in Florida. His parents divorced when he was 9 or 10. Subsequently, he lived with his mother, Evelyn Littlejohn, a Saks Fifth Avenue secretary, in Palm Beach, Florida. He lived in Bethesda, Maryland in a one-bedroom apartment with his mother and brother during his teenage years.

Navarro went to Tufts University on a full academic scholarship, graduating in 1972 with a Bachelor of Arts degree. He then spent three years in the U.S. Peace Corps, serving in Thailand. He earned a Master of Public Administration from Harvard University’s John F. Kennedy School of Government in 1979, and a PhD in Economics from Harvard under the supervision of Richard E. Caves in 1986.”

Navarro has written books about China’s aggression, bad behaviors and potential war with China:
Crouching Tiger: What China’s Militarism Means for the World (2015)
Death by China: Confronting the Dragon – A Global Call to Action (2011)
    The Coming China Wars (2006)

And having spent three years in Thailand in the Peace Corps, Navarro may have encountered China’s cunning and aggression, plus a virus or two.

The lefties are really upset about Navarro’s appointment. Their criticisms and objections have already made its way into the Navarro Wikipedia Bio: https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Peter_Navarro#Ron_Vara

I was thinking it might mean she’s “way in” the deep state cabal & he knows & has proof, or perhaps she’s being used by them & doesn’t realize how much the deep staters over her head are manipulating her actions…

    1. I was very surprised that our anti-gun, Boulderite (and need I add, Demagogue) governer specifically exempted gun shops in his “stay at home” order that took effect this last Thursday.

[Were it not for the fact that there are a lot of people wanting to kill the second amendment, I’d have had no issue with NOT excluding gun shops. Anyone interested in a gun already has one or four or sixteen or sixty four of them already (that there is an example of good exponential growth 😀 ). It’s not like a gun owner can run out of guns, like he could run out of food. Ammo, of course is usable, but surely you already have enough for an emergency.]

On the other hand maybe he’s leaving those shops so leftist guerilla wannabes can try to catch up to us.

  11. DAVID FROM ISRAEL (OT)

My American Friends, I am Israeli and a Trump supporter. I noticed that most of the media is mainly fear mongering around the globe and you can’t get a clear picture of what it’s all about. Lots of theories, not facts.

Most media gives general numbers without specifics of ages and other factors.

Israel managed to keep one of the lowest mortality rates (below 0.1%, while Italy had some 8%, Spain about 3% and the US about 1.2%). The reason Israel has a low rate is the strategy it applies. There are a few facts that are not published in the US.

    1. The Corona is more contagious than other viruses and with all the restrictions you still going to get exponential increase in number of carriers. Its nothing to worry about in case of healthy non-elderly people.

    2. Only the elderly and very ill are at higher risk. One should only worry about those and not get panic when numbers are rising. People under 40 old will probably not even know they had it or mild symptoms. The body develops immune after some 3-4 weeks. You maybe already had it along with your family.

    3. Corona is not airborne, you can only get it from surfaces and people who sneeze or cough on you.
Pay attention to the defense minister of Israel in the video below. The guy is known to be a bright mind with a background of international success in high tech and also special forces.

In Israel the Defense Office is all over it , Mossad Intelligence agency is getting millions of test kits and the army is recruited to protect and help the elderly. Israelis still didn’t get economic aide but they will.

Realize that the reason Italy has large % of death is that they failed to protect the elderly and because of the contagious nature of the virus their hospitals can’t take care of everyone and they let people with lower chances to die.

    Watch below.

The most important thing you need to know about Coronovirus.

    Liked by 3 people

    1. Another reason Italy has so many deaths is they have 300,000+ Chinese (said to be 500,000+ counting the illegals) “immigrants” working in the sweatshops of northern Italy, many (if not most) of whom took trips to China during the Chinese New Year period…

Cheap labor for expensive clothes, shoes, etc. No longer “Made in China”, but made by Chinese. So much for the Belt and Road initiative, which the Italian gubmint (formerly conservative) signed on to last year.

Seems we were bailing them out, now the Chinese are buying them out. Heyyyyyyyyyyyy, we want our money back…

A couple of interesting articles, there are many more about the growing sellout to the Chinese:

      From Tracy Beanz: https://threadreaderapp.com/thread/1241114982739333124.html

Hundreds of thousands of Chinese immigrants now live both legally and illegally in Italy, with 300K legally registered and many more illegal.

Italy recently entered into a new economic partnership with China called “One belt, One road” China has revitalized northern Italian ports in order to transport goods more efficiently to the rest of Europe.

The mayor of Florence initiated a social media campaign called “Hug a Chinese” using Chinese produced video as an engine to dispel “racism” against Chinese in Italy.

Thirty years ago, Italy saw the beginnings of what would become a serious issue with illegal immigration. What was surprising, was that the immigrants couldn’t just walk over a border to enter the country, they had to flock from China. It began with Italians hiring the Chinese off the books at cheap wages to work making garments in towns and villages renowned for their craftmanship, and morphed into Italians seeing the Chinese learn how to do it faster and cheaper; often times watching as their family-owned businesses were shuttered because they were outbid. The Chinese took over the Italian craft and made it their own. What didn’t change was the coveted “Made in Italy” label. The NY Times began documenting the trend in 2010 writing:

And there were even more nefarious things afoot:

Further to Tracy’s article, especially interesting with regard to the explosion of infections in Italy:
“It wasn’t chance. It wasn’t age. It wasn’t overall health, and it wasn’t the good-hearted nature of the Italian people that caused the virus to ravage their nation. It was a leadership who are now under the thumb of the Chinese government.

On February 1, 2020, the mayor of Florence initiated something called “Hug a Chinese” day.”
Sad to say, the page from David Vance that she quoted no longer exists. Suffice to say, northern Italy has a HUGE proportion of all the infections in Italy…

Rather interesting, too, that the media are whining and moaning (and click-baiting) about the Corona disaster, lamenting the fact that we aren’t “socially distancing” ourselves, YET, they are worshipping the land of IKEA-nrivana, who are totally ignoring ALL requests to “socially distance”…

LIVE, and in REAL TIME, COGNITIVE DISSONANCE!!!!!

Too bad that Sweden is a very small (in population) country, so that they socially distance themselves whether they want to or not… Notwithstanding their efforts to keep warm when the “midnight sun” is on the other side of our frabjous orb…

Senate Republicans refused, and Senate Majority Leader Mitch McConnell hoisted their efforts to shoehorn green agenda interests as proof that Democrats were not serious about helping the country, as they voted to block the legislation.

    This part is STRAIGHT UP….

    BILL F’N’ GATES

Straight out of this right here….

The interviewer talks to Gates about THAT STUFF, as well as the VACCINE STUFF, and the answer is illuminati – I mean illuminating….

Go to 3:20 and you see that Gates is a dutiful USEFUL IDIOT on all this crap. He’s a GND huckter as well, all bought into their bullshit with his TAXPAYER MONEY DRAINING TECHNOLOGY QUEST.

Friggin’ BEELZEBOB trying to shoehorn the SECOND part of his agenda into his DAMN VIRUS.

  15. Nolte: Poll Shows Public Approves of Everyone’s Handling of Coronavirus … Except the Media

A poll shows the American public gives everyone very high marks for their handling of the coronavirus … except for our fake news media.

A Gallup poll released Wednesday shows the American people approve — and by wide margins — of the way every institution is responding to the coronavirus … except for the news media, whose numbers are not only awful, but in far, far, far last place.

    Here’s the breakdown of approve/disapprove:

    U.S. Hospitals: 88 percent vs. 10 percent.

Your child’s school or daycare: 83 percent vs. 9 percent

Your state government: 82 percent vs. 17 percent

Your employer: 82 percent vs. 14 percent

Government health agencies such as the CDC or NIH: 80 percent vs. 17 percent

Vice President Mike Pence: 61 percent vs. 32 percent

President Donald Trump: 60 percent vs. 38 percent

Congress: 59 percent vs. 37 percent

And way, way, way, way down at the bottom sits…

The news media: 44 percent vs. 55 percent

    1. It is obvious to me that this guy was indicted so he could be a protected witness from the start. When they put a 10 mil reward on his head, he was probably already in the DEA office in Columbia. Maybe already on the plane wheels up.

It could also be that the govt wants Maduro to hunker down, which gives us the authority to mount a posse to arrest him in Venezuela. Operation Just Cause 2.0
