Dear KAG: 20200325 Open Thread

Alright, time for one of my favorites. (And if you need some belly laughs, check out the movie “1941.”

And now for the obligatory message from our sponsors:

Here at the Q tree we believe in the concept of CIVIL open free speech and the discussion that fleshes out ideas. When commenting and participating in the OPEN discussion on this thread all comments MUST NOT CONTAIN personal threats, baiting, name calling, or other anti-social words fomenting hate, violence or destruction. Our host Wolfm00n has strict rules about that.

Fellow tree dweller Wheatie gave us some good reminders on the basics of civility in political discourse:

  1. No food fights.
  2. No running with scissors.
  3. If you bring snacks, bring enough for everyone.

In addition, it is requested that there be no swinging from the chandeliers, celebratory gunfire, messing around with the nuclear weapons, and, please, everyone wash your hands.

And, please, what ever you do, do not walk barefoot across San Francisco.

Those who have things to say that do not fit the generally accepted limits of “civil” discussion, Wolf has provided a venue known as the UTree. Please, venture over there for any such thoughts and comments. This sort of thing is always a possibility on that site:

A few other vital notes:

Please, review these rules that our host Wolfm00n outlined toward the beginning of the growth of the tree itself. it won’t take long.

Ridiculing the other side, on the other hand…well….

From the Greek Canon, the Second Chapter of the Book of Wisdom:

For they have said, reasoning with themselves, but not right: The time of our life is short and tedious, and in the end of a man there is no remedy, and no man hath been known to have returned from hell: [2] For we are born of nothing, and after this we shall be as if we had not been: for the breath in our nostrils is smoke: and speech a spark to move our heart, [3] Which being put out, our body shall be ashes, and our spirit shall be poured abroad as soft air, and our life shall pass away as the trace of a cloud, and shall be dispersed as a mist, which is driven away by the beams of the sun, and overpowered with the heat thereof: [4] And our name in time shall be forgotten, and no man shall have any remembrance of our works. [5] For our time is as the passing of a shadow, and there is no going back of our end: for it is fast sealed, and no man returneth.

[6] Come therefore, and let us enjoy the good things that are present, and let us speedily use the creatures as in youth. [7] Let us fill ourselves with costly wine, and ointments: and let not the flower of the time pass by us. [8] Let us crown ourselves with roses, before they be withered: let no meadow escape our riot. [9] Let none of us go without his part in luxury: let us everywhere leave tokens of joy: for this is our portion, and this our lot. [10] Let us oppress the poor just man, and not spare the widow, nor honour the ancient grey hairs of the aged.

[11] But let our strength be the law of justice: for that which is feeble, is found to be nothing worth. [12] Let us therefore lie in wait for the just, because he is not for our turn, and he is contrary to our doings, and upbraideth us with transgressions of the law, and divulgeth against us the sins of our way of life. [13] He boasteth that he hath the knowledge of God, and calleth himself the son of God. [14] He is become a censurer of our thoughts. [15] He is grievous unto us, even to behold: for his life is not like other men’s, and his ways are very different.

[16] We are esteemed by him as triflers, and he abstaineth from our ways as from filthiness, and he preferreth the latter end of the just, and glorieth that he hath God for his father. [17] Let us see then if his words be true, and let us prove what shall happen to him, and we shall know what his end shall be. [18] For if he be the true son of God, he will defend him, and will deliver him from the hands of his enemies. [19] Let us examine him by outrages and tortures, that we may know his meekness and try his patience. [20] Let us condemn him to a most shameful death: for there shall be respect had unto him by his words.

As always, prayers for the fight against that which seeks to enslave us are welcome.

We ready for more “As the Swamp Turns”?

  1. FBN – Latest on the Bill. Graham, Tim Scott, Sasse caught language that essentially pays people more to stay on unemployment + Fed money, than return back to work. So basically if you make $15/hr, you will receive State UE + Fed money totaling $24/hr, so why go back to work??? Questioning whether mistake or intentional. Want it changed by adding amendment. Bernie threatening to vote NO if it’s changed.

The Communist thugs in charge of China have been trying to have it two ways on coronavirus: Playing the aggrieved victim of racism/biological-warfare/whatever, and acting like the international bigshot who, having solved the crisis at home, is now eager to help other nations around the world.

Beijing’s antics are making everything worse everywhere, this time in the Czech Republic.

The Czech newspaper Irozhlas (I-Radio) reports that the bigshots in Beijing sent 150,000 coronavirus rapid testing kits to Czechia which return false results up to 80% of the time.

              1. Most of the info I have already known about, but I esp. liked the manner in which she presented it. There was no judgment call per se, simply “this isn’t what I learned in school but the facts are there, we just never looked for them” and particularly wrt children, pizzagate, etc. she showed photos of the artwork on the wall of the pizza place (awful for adults to view, and in a ‘family’ restaurant) and basement area. Connected dots with families and relationships very well. Would make an great brief for a court case!

Agree with you in all respects, PR – not all information is ‘new’ and there is relatively little definitely on her part – presented in such a way as to make one think without offering her own conclusions. Wow! Never thought of that – useful in a court case – well aware of much of it myself as well – but, she added some ‘new’ aspects to it. Just glad I got to the good part – could easily have clocked out long before Parts 9 and 10. Good Lord!!! These people are not only sick; they are disgusting to the max!

    2. I actually watched this through waiting for the daily update from Washington, and aside from the question of how in the heck would bankers stay in business with zero loans and a lack of discussion on the gold standard…it’s pretty superficial, and there remain a lot of questions.

I am one who believes the jury may well be out on JFK, Jr., being alive. Since the only images ever leaked to the public were death certificates, and crash reports – which can easily be faked – there is every possibility his death was faked. Also, Jr. on a name remains with a man his whole life. My father is a Jr. His dad passed when he was in high school. Jr. is still on official documents. That argument is a non-starter, IMO. The world would know John John as JFK, Jr. It’s a brand whether he wants it to be or not.

As for that event in July 1999, Q calls it, a “start”. My guess for some time has been that it was the start of the plan unfolding as I believe it was being put together as long ago as the Eisenhower administration. If that’s the case, it both bolsters and destroys the JFK JR. is alive line of thinking. I’m just waiting for it all to unfold.

What I did find interesting on this video, and what is a new data point for me, is the Tiffany blue boxes. There’s something there. Jackie Kennedy and Melania were not the only first ladies to wear powder blue. Laura Bush did as well at W’s inauguration. Why? There’s something there, especially given the envelopes at GHWB’s funeral and the word from DC to someone who can’t stand the Bushes that W flipped. I still say he was betrayed, and on 9-11 he was doing a slow burn.

I’m filing it away for now because the powder blue is a data point that has to have some meaning, What that is, is another question.

Then back to the two guys demanding massive testing despite admitting that the physical capability to do so doesn’t exist.

In other words, they’re setting up Trump for a fall, knowing that the press will blame Trump for decisions made by the CDC.

    “Listen to the scientists!”

    30m
The Trump being blamed for CDC failures.

If the CDC never told Trump “We can’t do testing,” how is he supposed to know?

    Is he a remote viewer?

And despite everything, in 2019 we were rated the country best prepared for pandemic.

    29m
Then we have anti-Trump propaganda that doesn’t comport with the actions Trump took in January, so we can ignore all that.

    28m
Then they talk about the border wall.

    Because COVID-19, am I right?

    21m
Then we have tiny leftist minds demanding legislation that mandates actions that companies are already doing voluntarily.

We’ve seen how Congress handles emergency legislation.

Trump was right to let companies volunteer.

    And remember:

    FEAR OF SHORTAGES. Not shortages.

    20m
Then we have FEAR of not having enough respirators.

    Again, NOT SHORTAGES.

FEAR of not having enough respirators if the worst-case scenarios become reality, which they won’t.

    18m
(Wow. Twitter Broke this thread three times so far. Big deal. Do your worst, Twitter. Trump will still get reelected.)

    16m
Then we have tiny leftist minds AGAIN not understanding that invoking laws doesn’t mean you have to use them in a blanket fashion.

When the government mandates production, things get screwed up. Ask anyone who built weapons and equipment during World War II.

    14m
Then we have a flat-out lie that Trump said that social-distancing may be worse than COVID-19 itself.

And this deeply silly attempt at enemy propaganda ends.

    Here’s what leftists can’t grasp:

    11m
Trump was hit with the mother of all black swans.

We were looking at the collapse of the health-care system and the economy.

Not only only did Trump successfully prevent both outcomes, he used COVID-19 to neutralize the Democrats and the press.

    9m
Pelosi and Schumer were fooled into delaying the emergency economic stimulus package.

That’s the end of the establishment Democrats.

The Democratic Socialists were fooled into calling for all workers to lose their jobs permanently.

    That’s the end of them.

    6m
And the press was fooled into becoming a ping pong match as it bounced back and forth to try and remain critical of all of Trump’s actions.

When the economy comes roaring back, a grateful nation will reelect Trump.

But it’s even bigger than that.

    4m
Leftists are saying that they’re going to vote straight GOP in November to punish the Democrats.

The election WOULD HAVE BEEN a referendum on Trump, but now it will be a referendum on the Democrats.

They fell right into Trump’s trap.

    Masks
    Gloves
    Other PPEs
    Hospital isolation rooms
    Intensive care rooms and equipment
    Ventilators

Where are the procedures such as closing group meetings, closings schools, restricting travel, isolation, and quarantine to stop the spread of the deadly seasonal flue?

Did we let all these people just, ho-hum, die. Or maybe could the CDC numbers be a bit suspect?

I’ve been overfeeding him lately, to let him recover from nearly dying of starvation when he was ill. I’m going to cut back a bit. (Reptiles can tolerate that a lot better than we can.) Especially since he’s going to be two years old soon and should go to every other day feeding at that time.

If his supply of bugs does run out, I can feed him some kinds of people food, on a limited basis.

We ran across a truly gigantic python (at least 20’ long) in the middle of our route , but we’re assured it was totally safe because it had just eaten a wild pig and it would take several days to digest. In fact, we could see the entire pig outlined in the snake. Our Kenyan hosts said it might not eat again for several weeks.
We tiptoed around it and went on our merry way.

I’ve seen pets near that size, and yes if one really decided he wanted to constrict you, you’d have a problem on your hands, but the ones kept as pets are handled often and used to their owners (at all costs, avoid having yourself smell like whatever it is you feed them).

    1. There are counties in Colorado that when you drive through you almost double the population by being there.

We do have a large percentage of the counties with population under 1000 here. Part of it is historical artifact: When our county boundaries were originally set, the guiding principle was that no one should be more than a day away from his county seat, traveling by horseback.

Which meant that the mountainous areas, having to deal with rugged terrain, tend to be very small counties in area–AND few people live there (unless they’ve turned into skiing meccas) because you can’t farm that land. Both factors combine to produce counties with very low populations.

There’s a story that when Alferd Packer was convicted of cannibalism in Hinsdale county (still a very low pop county), the judge said “There was eight dimmycrats in Hinsdale county, and you et five of ’em!” I guess that judge was one of the three remaining Democrats. [Note: I do not advise that we emulate this to solve our deep state problems. Just saying. For one thing many of them probably have the brain wasting disease.]

Anyway, winter gardening is mainly the planning phase and then the order and beginning the seeds. Next is spring when it is so fun to work outside and then late spring and early summer with more planting and harvesting and beautiful weather. fun for now, Love it!

You will soon hear a lot about the Pandemic Response Accountability Committee. It will be Congressional Democrats’ attempt to defeat @realDonaldTrump. Think Hurricane Katrina-like narrative.

        1. Thanks – got it! They’re on Sylvia now if she got tested! I hope they’re giving HCQ & AZM in Washington. That will make sure the virus is gone.

She may not have the virus anymore, so they may need to do a serological test to see if she has antibodies to make sure she had it.

My feeling is that I’m long over the virus, but the SARS damage got left behind. Now, anything that messes with my lungs brings back the SARS symptoms. I think that’s what she has, too.

    1. McConnell needs to go with a simple majority vote on this!
I don’t understand why he’s not doing that.

The Demoncrats want to delay this because they want more misery — which they will blame on Pres Trump.
