It is also a place to read, post and discuss news that is worth knowing and sharing. Please post links to any news stories that you use as sources or quote from.

In the QTree, we’re a friendly and civil lot. We encourage free speech and the open exchange and civil discussion of different ideas. Topics aren’t constrained, and sound logic is highly encouraged, all built on a solid foundation of truth and established facts.

We have a policy of mutual respect, shown by civility. Civility encourages discussions, promotes objectivity and rational thought in discourse, and camaraderie in the participants – characteristics we strive toward in our Q Tree community.

Please show respect and consideration for your fellow QTreepers.

Before hitting the “post” button, please proofread your post and make sure you’re addressing the issue only, and not trying to confront the poster.

If you feel the need to bare your fangs, we have a companion site – called The U Tree – where you can run wild and free with the Wolfpack where all legal free speech is allowed.

But NOT HERE in The Q Tree. Personal attacks, name calling, ridicule, insults, baiting and other conduct for which a penalty flag would be thrown are VERBOTEN.

In The Q Tree, we’re compatriots, sitting around the campfire, roasting hot dogs, making s’mores and discussing, agreeing, and disagreeing about whatever interests us. This board will remain a home for those who seek respectful conversations.

Please also consider the Important Guidelines, outlined here. Let’s not give the Internet Censors a reason to shut down this precious haven that Wolf has created for us.

The Storm is upon us.
Please remember to Pray for our President.

AND WHAT TIME IS IT?
TIME TO DRAIN THE SWAMP!!!

On this day and every day –

God is in Control
. . . and His Grace is Sufficient, so . . .
Keep Looking Up

Hopefully, every Sunday, you can find something here that will build you up a little . . . give you a smile . . . and add some joy or peace, very much needed in all our lives.

“This day is holy to the Lord your God; do not mourn nor weep.” . . . “Go your way, eat the fat, drink the sweet, and send portions to those for whom nothing is prepared; for this day is holy to our Lord. Do not sorrow, for the joy of the Lord is your strength.”

Not Of This World

John 17:14 I have given them your word and the world has hated them, for they are not of the world any more than I am of the world.

John 17:14 . . . for they [we] are not of this world . . .
Philippians 3:20 . . . we are citizens of heaven . . .
Romans 12:2 Do not be conformed to this world . . .
Ephesians 5:7 . . . do not associate with them . . .
2 Corinthians 6:17 . . . be separate from them . . .

So, is that it? As Christians we need to isolate ourselves from this fallen world and all of its evil influences?

Of course not.

We are in this world. To be more specific, God has placed us in this world. And we are to let our light so shine among men that they see our good works (that God prepared beforehand for us to do) and thereby glorify our Father in heaven. (Ephesians 2:10, Matthew 5:16)

John Bunyan was right. We are pilgrims here, poor wayfaring strangers traveling through this weary land, until we take up our eternal citizenship in heaven.

How does this “in the world but not of the world” thing really work? What does it mean to follow Christ in a fallen world?

Anyone who says he is a Christian must live as Christ did. (1 John 2:6)

Does this mean we all must become itinerant teachers and preacher’s of God’s Word, wearing sandals and working our way through the countryside gathering disciples and trying to convince people to trust in God?

Again, of course not!

Jesus was raised, along with His brothers and sisters, by His mother, Mary and father, Joseph, a tekton by trade, a laborer or workman, possibly a carpenter or builder. He was raised, probably among similar class families, in Nazareth, a region of Galilee, two thousand years ago. Jesus and His family undoubtedly worshiped God at the local synagogue and observed the Jewish holy days of the time.

After the start of His ministry, Jesus was constantly among the people, mostly Jews, but, occasionally, gentiles. He did eat and drink with sinners (Luke 5:29-30), attended at least one wedding (John 2:1-11), and was an invited guest in the homes of several people (Luke 7:36). Undoubtedly, there were many other of such instances.

At times, Jesus would get away from the press of the crowds with His closest disciples. And, I would believe, during those times He would rest and relax a bit, enjoying the fellowship of those around Him. I also believe at those times, and others, He would appreciate the warmth of the sun, a cooling breeze, the smell of newly plowed ground, the sounds of the birds around Him, and, perhaps, the unexpected pleasure of some honey, or seasonal olives, grapes, dates or figs with His normal staples of gritty bread and fish.

Jesus was definitely in the world. But, of the world? That’s entirely another matter.

Jesus is the embodiment of His Father in heaven, having the overarching characteristic of perfect love, agapé love, that permeates His thoughts, words and actions.

So, how does agapé love manifest itself in the world? In many ways, as evidenced by God’s Word: by love, joy, peace, patience, kindness, goodness, faithfulness, gentleness and self-control.

Agapé love does not envy, it does not boast, it is not proud. It does not dishonor others, it is not self-seeking, it is not easily angered, it keeps no record of wrongs. Agapé love does not delight in evil but rejoices with the truth. It always protects, always trusts, always hopes, always perseveres. Agapé love never fails.

Jesus had friends . . . His disciples . . . but they, all of them, were more than just friends. They were His family: “For whoever does the will of God is My brother and My sister and mother.”(Mark 3:35)

Jesus associated with sinners and tax collectors and the like because “It is not the healthy who need a doctor, but the sick. I have not come to call the righteous, but sinners.” (Mark 2:17) He loved them, agapé love, love that seeks their best welfare . . . but He was not, in our customary usage, their friend, even though He is the best Friend a sinner will ever have.

And so Jesus, our Savior, our Great Example, shows us how to be in the world but not of the world. It’s the difference between physical location and purpose of action.

Paul and Peter follow up with their teachings on Christian behavior in our fallen world-

Only conduct yourselves in a manner worthy of the gospel of Christ, so that . . . you are standing firm in one spirit, with one mind striving together for the faith of the gospel;  (Philippians 1:27)

Conduct yourselves with wisdom toward outsiders, making the most of the opportunity. Let your speech always be with grace, as though seasoned with salt, so that you will know how you should respond to each person.  (Colossians 4:5-6)

Therefore, prepare your minds for action, keep sober in spirit, fix your hope completely on the grace to be brought to you at the revelation of Jesus Christ. As obedient children, do not be conformed to the former desires which were yours in your ignorance, but like the Holy One who called you, be holy yourselves also in all your behavior;  (1 Peter 1:13-16)

Live such good lives among the pagans that, though they accuse you of doing wrong, they may see your good deeds and glorify God on the day he visits us.  (1 Peter 2:12)

Therefore I urge you, brothers, on account of God’s mercy, to offer your bodies as living sacrifices, holy and pleasing to God, which is your spiritual service of worship. Do not be conformed to this world, but be transformed by the renewing of your mind. Then you will be able to test and approve what is the good, pleasing, and perfect will of God. (Romans 12:1-2)

  1. LITTLE JOHNNY IS BACK

The teacher asked the class to use the word “fascinate” in a sentence

Molly put up her hand and said, My father went to my grandad’s farm and we all saw his pet sheep. It was fascinating.
The teacher said, That was good, but I wanted you to use the word “fascinate”, not fascinating.

Sally raised her hand. She said, My family went to see Rock City and I was fascinated.
The teacher said, Well that was good Sally, but I wanted you to use the word fascinate.

Little Johnny raised his hand, but the teacher hesitated because she had been burned by Little Johnny before. She finally decided there was no way he could damage the world “fascinate”, so she called on him.
Johnny said, “My aunt Carolyn has a sweater with 10 buttons, but her tits are so big she can only fasten eight.”

The teacher sat down and cried……………..

    1. Little Johnny was sitting in class doing math problems when his teacher picked him to answer a question,

“Johnny, if there were five birds sitting on a fence and you shot one with your gun, how many would be left?”

“None,” replied Johnny, ” ‘cause the rest would fly away.”

“Well, the answer is four,” said the teacher, “but I like the way you’re thinking.”

Right then, Little Johnny was all…

So Little Johnny says, “Teacher, I have a question for you.”

“If there were three women eating ice cream cones in a shop, one was licking her cone, the second was biting her cone and the third was sucking her cone, which one is married?”

“Well,” said the teacher nervously, “I guess the one sucking the cone.”

“Wrong”, said Little Johnny, “the one with the wedding ring on her finger, but I like the way you’re thinking.”

  2. With the 70 people+ with the Wuhan virus in Westchester county NY (VERY UPPER CLASS) and now showing up at ‘political gatherings’ I think it is a bit of too little too late for the Jet Setters. After all that group is actually fairly small and they travel all over the global. They also shake hands, pound backs, hug and kiss a lot.

It is IRONIC that our American Ruling Class seems to be getting hit and not the serf class. Of course that may be because they can DEMAND testing while the homeless in San FranFeces are left to incubate the disease and then die on the streets.

As I said above the CDC in the person of Nancy messonnier intentionally dropped the ball.

“CDC believes at this time that symptoms of COVID-19 may appear in as few as 2 days or as long as 14 days after exposure.” They are STILL pushing this crap statement)

However we are aware of it sometimes taking 24 to 27 days before major symptoms show.

“…The incubation period of the new SARS-CoV-2 coronavirus which causes the Covid-19 disease can be as long as 27 days according to a new media report by Reuters based on statements by Health authorities in Hubei….

Virologists are warning that even the 27 days observed time period might not be even accurate as the new coronavirus could even have an incubation periods that much longer that have yet to be clinically observed and verified.
This new revelation could also indicate that all past quarantines were actually ineffective and many of those who have been released could actually now be spreading the disease. Health authorities worldwide need to react fast on this new information. “

    1. The issue is not how many are dying today or even per day average or even how many are dying each day between now and next Sunday. The issue is its growth rate, the trajectory.

True, if the numbers above were not ever going to increase…108 per day forever more and that is the top most limit…less panic.

The numbers of infected, critically ill and dead per day are raising at a critical pace….That is the issue.

Quoting the current death #s is not the point. Hopefully, the rates will be slowed, treatments will improve, the death #s will come down/stay low.

If there were 0 deaths from cancer last June, a handful in July, a few more in August, and the number had increased per month until the current number then Yes, that number of current deaths per day of cancer would be alarming!!! It is the growth rate and where that number is going (potentially) that is alarming. it is not the 14 who have died so far but the growth rate and the expected number in 3-6 months that is alarming.

Also, remember…calculate the recovered #s/death #s NOT the currently infected to how many have died. All of those currently infected have not finished cycling through are not part of the death rate numbers yet.

How many have it will die is figured by how many have it have died/recovered.

100K infected, 3K dead …. that does NOT equal 3% death rate! The 3K are those dead who were infected weeks ago when the infected numbers were much lower.

On the flip side, probably many more infected than the official diagnosed 100K as only those sickest are diagnosed so there is a Large number of undiagnosed who did not advance to complications or ill enough to be tested &/or hospitalized. When consider all who are sick, the death rate comes back down.

So glad low rate of death/no deaths for children!

      1. An additional “benefit” of WuFlu is that if you have worse than a mild case, the likelihood of suffering permanent lung or even heart damage is not insignificant.

        Liked by 3 people

        1. It is a serious illness but, thankfully, the majority of people only get a mild case. However, for those whose case is not mild it is Very Serious and the death rates + rates of infecting others are higher than the flu. Lastly, this is on top of all other existing illnesses v. the type of flu that is going around this year.

No, we aren’t panicked…but we are realistic and we are not making light of the situation. Taking it seriously and praying that the situation does not go worst case scenario.

Several days ago, I began talking to my fellow GOP leaders that we may need to consider rescheduling some events and they thought that was completely wrong. I was projecting what was happening and taking it seriously. Giving it a week and they will catch up and we can talk again.

Dimm events underscore what total losers the Dimms are this year and lead to dejection by the Dimms or, for the few that still think, enlightenment leading to PTrump.

          1. He recovered…hopefully, without heart or kidney or lung damage. And he was young and had no previous health issues that were mentioned/known. How much harder for already diseased/aged?!

+ I still don’t believe the death rate China gave us via their stats. I do believe that some have it as only a mild case. But of those who are not mild, we saw evidence of more than 3K die.

+I don’t understand how they are getting their numbers right now. 90K infected divided 3K dead is not an accurate measurement. How are they currently calculating their death/mortality rate?

As far as meetings and dinners, etc., I am already calculating in my plans that we may meet within the next 2 weeks and then assess a projection from there. Five weeks from now…??? Hard to say but based on other countries and what is happening in NY, CA & WA it looks like it will spread.

Can we quarantine those states and people traveling to/from them? Guess that won’t fly with the media/Dems

Anyway, I think we will have some clarity as to the direction this is going over the next week or so.

  5. Per 700WLW “Sunday Sterling” radio show, today:
There is now a confirmed first case of the Wuhan/SARS2 coronavirus in HARRISON COUNTY, Kentucky. The Kentucky health department is in the process of tracing the infected person’s contacts to get them tested. The infected person is in isolation at CHANDLER HOSPITAL in Lexington, KY.

Here’s where it gets dicey and JUST what I predicted, based on the enforced quarantine in Rocklin (Placer County, CA) —
Kentucky Governor Andy Beshear (D) has issued a State of Emergency AND IS CONSIDERING a county-wide lockdown for Harrison County. The schools there will be closed for at least a week.

    1. And an update on Washington State:
      http://www.msn.com/
Credit to CBS “Face the Nation”, 45 minutes ago:
Washington State Gov. JAY INSLEE is now considering imposing “mandatory measure” due to the Wuhan/SARS2 coronavirus presence in the state.
Inslee did not specify exactly what he would impose; however, he did talk about moving from “voluntary decisions” by individuals and localities, and into statewide required decisions.

      My opinion:
WATCH for an acceleration of “mandatory measures” being imposed on Americans by state governors / city mayors / county boards of supervisors.
Also, WATCH for DemComs to start using these possible “mandatory measures” as a political tool to “prove” that POTUS / his Cabinet / Republicans in general — didn’t have a real handle on the situation: with the backstory goal of “Republicans don’t care about your health or life — vote Democrat since we do care.”

        1. I do, too, FG&C. It is merely setting the stage to get us used to more mandatory shutdowns at the whim of very politicized leaders.

The first step would be to announce the confirmed case & track his/her known contacts but there are several steps before ‘mandatory’ that are reasonable.

In Colorado, one man flew in and went to ski country where he was tested positive. They have disclosed where he skied, ate, sought medical attention and how, when & where he was driven back to lower altitude to help relive breathing difficulties. He is now in my county (still over 5k feet altitude), and his companions are quarantined. I would be PISSED if they closed schools or did mandatory shutdowns just based on this guy.

Last I checked, CO has 10 cases. Out and about today, and EVERYBODY is out enjoying the 69 degree sunny weather. Some states have healthier populations just by nature of our weather and open space.

When I lived there a couple of years ago, I worked with several people who lived in Cynthiana which is the county seat of Harrison county. Cynthiana is also where a lot of Toyota workers live and Amazon Fulfillment Center is close by. Harrison County is a beautiful area, similar to Fayette County, I would characterize it as a small agricultural area.

  10. Random thoughts on Biden’s current status:

Where are the TV shrinks that diagnose our president from their TV studios and declare him not fit to serve based on mental competency? Anyone hear them mention Joe Biden? Nope. Not time yet? Likely to come though when they’re ready to do the old switcheroo and it’s too late for democrat constituents to have a voice in the process of choosing their president. They obviously don’t trust their own people making such important decisions (can’t say I blame them but sill it’s a matter of fairness).

I know the president has already made some comments to this effect but now I believe it’s getting close to the time to give them both barrels and for the President to demand that they take back their mentally incompetent front runner and stop the closed door BS by having the real Democrat challenger step forward and be properly vetted in front of the American public. A slow constant build up to such a theme is certainly in order as it becomes apparent even to democrat little people Biden is not the guy for the job and that the little dem people are being shut out of the process in choosing who might be.

Of course the Dems will still wait for the convention to do this, but it need not wait to call them on this early and make them look like the bunch of hypocritical oligarchs and wanna be autocrats that they are.

  11. I know some might question the numbers for a variety of good reasons but it remains the best yardstick of what’s happening concerning the China Coup Virus. So in case you haven’t run the numbers here’s a quick snap shot.

US now has the 40th most cases of the China Coup virus at 1.4 cases per million. South Korea leads the pack at 142.6 cases per million followed by Italy at 97.3, Iran at 78.2 and China coming in 4th at 56.1 (if you want to believe that one, fine by me).

Remember that air travel between the US and China was shut down on Jan 31st with warnings days before that, that such would happen along with a few Asian countries shutting down days before the 31st so that there was definitely a run for the border and flights out (well into the thousands). Meanwhile you can look at the serious critical and death rate columns, both places where you would expect good diagnosis being made, and see the numbers comport with the actual cases fairly well.

Obviously continue to wash your hands, be mindful of social distancing, take your vitamins and definitely keep up your stock piles for when Deep State realizes the China Coup Virus isn’t going to work they are going to reach back down into their bag of tricks for something even more nasty and if they have something in there, they’ll use it.

    1. Here are some stats that might make some feel better & help u understand why Trump &the task force are saying the risk is low.

In Hubei, the worst hit China province, there is a total population of 55.8 million people and only 67,500+ cases have been confirmed. (0.12%)

^^^ Seriously? ChiComs simply want the world to know how brilliant they are in defeating the virus they unleashed on the world. It’s a power and economic drill for ChiComs. No nore. No less. Everything ChiComs have peddled has been lies and stonewalling.

Beyond ChiComs and WHO, is there anyone that believes any Chicom numbers? Anyone believe ChiCom narrative regarding Corona origins, time line…?

Seriously, who in their right mind would believe what ChiCom peddles?

Corona numbers outside og ChiCom land and iran I take the information at face value.

      1. I believe there are more than one country on that list and some will be over counting and some under counting on purpose. Regardless you can find a happy mean in those numbers and see that this virus is not spinning totally out of control. Meanwhile also you can focus on the numbers where the best checks are going to be done and that is critical cases and deaths and again you see the numbers not spinning out of control but actually stabilizing and or going down. Meanwhile the current number here in the US is 1.7 persons per 1 million people. That is cases. Not deaths or critcal. If it were those numbers we’d be seeing a number more like .005 or lower. Statiscally speaking you would have a better chance of dieing or getting sick from a separate source in your own home. In both cases, home accident or virus you can take steps to mitigate that from happening. Don’t know what else to tell you accept to say welcome to the new normal.

        1. It is the normal, but not necessarily “new” normal. ChiComs lie. I’m good with that. Iran the same. Good with it as I understand to not trust the bastards. Sort of like don’t trust them as cheat and steal on trade, intellectual knowledge…

The rest of the countries pretty much go with their numbers. Not overly concerned about our numbers here. Not flipping out. Simply dealing with the havoc ChiComs have unleashed on the global community.

Zero reason to trust ChiComs in any scenario.

          Liked by 1 person

          1. Agreed! And somehow I can’t help but think the ChiComs didn’t just come up with this on their own, meaning they had help and permissions from our nemeses here.

Looking forward to an explanation from

on how this is “manipulated media.”

Twitter said they’ll label a video manipulated if it’s:

    1. Substantially edited
    2. Visual/audio is added/removed
    3. Video is fabricated/simulated

    The clip

“Far too many voices on both the right and left are arguing that Joe Biden’s recent success is a repudiation of Marxism.

This is so fantastically wrong that it is a little surprising how often we’re seeing and hearing it this week…

These views that Marxism was somehow repudiated are dangerously naïve, misread what happened, and underestimate just how much that radical Marxist philosophy has already shaped the Democrat party.”

  17. I didnt want to, but I went shopping today. Ralphs/Kroger nearly all TP gone. All sanitizer wipes, bleach, almost all hand sanitizer, bottled water, especially 1 gallon size low to no stock. Smart n Final club store no TP, paper towels, hand sanitizer, almost no bleach, nearly all beans and rice and bread gone.. Both places already were rationing per THE MANUFACTURERS NOT THE STORE. And finally, walmart standard store- No TP, no bleach, nearly all cleaners gone, hand sanitizer and wipes gone. Nothing available on App except small packages. Nearly ALL adult cough/mucus meds gone. Low on kids. Lots of other food staples empty.

My area has a confirmed CV case-a teacher who came to school contagious. I got it confirmed buy an off the clock employee. Kids are supposedly on self quarantine.

Kiddo is sick, again. His little friend came to school while contagious bc his parentd didn’t want him to miss a field trip….and got MINE sick…after 2 months being sick and finally having almost 3 weeks healthy.
Im so irritated by that, esp with CV here now.

To get the big thing of TP I had to buy online from target. People are reselling already or gouging. I should be fine as long as kiddo doesnt get bad/worse.

Pelosi and Newsom won’t issue a moratorium on public defecation because it will point the finger at their failed policies.

Once the virus infected feces spreads by rain throughout their cities, millions will get exposed.

    2. Respectfully. Who knows. No one answer. No right answer. It’s called F R E E D O M. No need to explain.

Sort of like why some folks prep for unknowns…readiness for…? For years I prep for…dunno…but knew I needed to prep.

Some are comfortable doing NOTHING. They buy day to day. Others, many factors come into play. Available funds, place to store stuff, assumed scenario or need…

In reality, I believe each person preps to whatever degree they are comfortable. Maybe so they can shop less often. Some shop (prep) for a few days, week, weeks, months… Do they have faith in the supply logistics system? AND this predates Corona…

What do they prep for? Moar of the same. Depends. Scenario.

What do they buy to stock…food, water, first aid, OTC meds, paper goods, generator(s), fuel, guns, ammo…;-)

With Corona, I have added masks, respirators.
      – As much as some pooh all over the need for masks, I shake my head.
      – The day I NEED one a mask in an urgent situation, damn glad I have masks.
      – Until say mid January this year, I NEVER considered masks. How does the saying go, “now that I have seen it, I cannot UNSEE it.”
      – Now, NEVER will go without masks.

I fault NO ONE for buying what they wish, including TP, bottled water… Whatever a citizen determines is right for their situation, is good by me.
      – NO different than what gun a person decides to own and how much ammo to own. NO ONE ELSE’S BUSINESS. No need to explain.

I DO FAULT price gouging. It is NOT supply and demand. Consider there are laws in hurricane prone states to NOT increase prices on gas, water… Same thing with Corona.

    3. Why buy a little extra? Imagine you are living in the Italy and are suddenly on lock down…or in the neighborhood this yesterday…not expected…would you want to run out of TP?

Many around the country are now on isolation at home and through none of their own doing…just in the vicinity of someone else from an infected area.

If you were suddenly on home isolation for the next 14 day…then you actually get sick on about day 10 and then you are sick for 14 days….do you have enough tp for 24 days?

If you are sick and in quarantine do you have enough? What if your town/region when on lock down? Enough to last?

Run out of anything but tp and food and needed meds. Buying a couple of extra cases if you are already a Costco/ big box shopper or some extra packs if you are a regular grocery store shopper. Not really hard to understand to me

Erik Prince is described as a ‘private contractor’.

    He works for TRUMP.

And people thought Trump was just sitting back and taking it like a wimp the past four years.

He had people infiltrating and getting the goods on all these corrupt organizations.

The NYT’s story starts this way:

“Erik Prince, the security contractor with close ties to the Trump administration, has in recent years helped recruit former American and British spies for secretive intelligence-gathering operations that included infiltrating Democratic congressional campaigns labor organizations and other groups considered hostile to the Trump agenda, according to interviews and documents.”

They’ve only NOW figured out while they spent the past 4 years trying to take Trump out with RussiaGate, then impeachment over the Ukraine hoax, he was sending SPIES to infiltrate their organizations and map out the corruption from the ground up.

They didn’t lay a glove on him. Trump is stronger and more robust and successful than ever.

Their party is now a flaming dumpster fire and it’s about to get far worse.
