Dear KMAG: 20200215 Open Thread

Welcome! The doors are open, come on inside!

Come on in and find a comfy spot:

This Sanctuary Saturday Open Thread is VERY OPEN – a place for everybody to post whatever they feel they would like to tell the White Hats, and the rest of the MAGA/KMAG/KAG world (with KMAG being a bit of both).

Free Speech is practiced here at the Q Tree. But please keep it civil.
Discussion of Q is not only allowed but encouraged. Imagine that! We can talk about Q here and not get banned.

Please also consider the Important Guidelines, outlined here. Let’s not give the odious Internet Censors a reason to shut down this precious haven that Wolf has created for us.

With the Storm upon us…please remember to Pray for our President.

Wheatie’s Rules:

      1. No food fights.
      2. No running with scissors.
      3. If you bring snacks, bring enough for everyone.

For your listening enjoyment, I offer this composition from Fearless Motivation, titled ‘Persistence’:

Visual Descriptions for our dear Zoe, and for anyone else who may find them helpful:

Header Image: A young lady warrior is standing in a field of tall grasses, looking over her shoulder at us. Behind her in the distance, an enormous Tree dominates the landscape. Her long white hair and the tall grasses, are blowing in the wind. Her dark green velvet embroidered tunic has a band of metal armor at the hips, which comes to a V in the front and back. She has metal armor on her shoulders and forearm, and the wind is blowing the long dark green cape that is attached at her shoulders. She is holding a sword in her right hand and in her left hand is a round metal object that appears to be giving off a soft blue glow.

The enormous Tree is in the valley below her and there are gigantic arched structures built into the side of it’s trunk. White birds are flying out from the Tree, towards us. A few small structures dot the landscape around the base of the Tree, along with a forest of smaller trees. Beyond the valley, there are rays of the sun casting light on the Tree and the warrior, as the sun emerges from a distant mountain range. There are white clouds moving through a blue sky.

Second Image: A stone pathway leads up to tall double doors, built into the side of an enormous tree trunk. The doors are arched and covered in ornate carvings. There are a few small points of light in the doors, giving off a slight blue glow. Rays of sunlight illuminate the path in front of the doors.

Third Image: Is an interior room with vaulted ceilings and arched throughways. There is a sturdy-looking couch with throw pillows and nearby armchairs. Behind the couch is a table and chairs…and there are additional seating groups in the adjacent spaces.

Fourth Image: Is President Trump, looking forward towards us, with a determined, serious look on his face. He bears the mark of command on his brow.

In light of recent events, you may want to visit the Screaming Room…if you are so inclined.

It can be therapeutic to yell and let off steam…punch something if you want to.

If you need first aid afterward, just yell “medic!” and someone will be with you shortly.

      1. Uh, personally, November 4th is my choice for broad based, Trump Unleashed. That is about as much patience as we ought to need. It WILL take years to unfarckel the mess created over decades.

  2. Force their hand! They either enforce the laws or they lose funding and their jobs.

“U.S. Immigration and Customs Enforcement took the rare step of serving four administrative subpoenas Friday to the San Diego County Sheriff’s Department for information on four Mexican nationals wanted for deportation.

The immigration subpoenas are the first of their kind in California, though they’re just the latest deployment of a new, month-old Trump administration tactic aimed at so-called sanctuary cities and states.

ICE, the Department of Homeland Security agency responsible for arresting and deporting people in the U.S. illegally, used the subpoenas Jan. 15 in Denver for what was believed to be the first time. The agency subsequently used them in New York and on Thursday in Connecticut.

According to an ICE spokeswoman, the subpoenas are not court-ordered or signed by a judge. But if the Sheriff’s Department does not comply, ICE said it can coordinate with federal prosecutors to seek an order from a federal judge that would compel the Sheriff’s Department to comply.”

    1. One of many reasons why the Senate was the target. Yes, it’s taken over a year, but the courts have been flipped and more are flipping.

Brilliant strategy. Get all the judges lined up before doing the deep house cleaning and going public with forcing compliance.

  4. Here’s a great little article from 2015 we might want to bookmark.
It reports on the cost of Obama’s vacations.
over $8 million to Hawaii for 2 weeks
$3500 suites taken by Mrs. Obama.
    $8K a night in Beijing.
And over $500K for one night in Paris by Joe Biden.

Considering the media loves to rail at Trump for playing golf and every time he travels, this little article might come in handy.

    1. Nor has Melania taken any “girlfriends” trips to Spain. But then, she has a child in school…oh, wait…
Then there’s the never-mentioned “summit” meetings Obama took in the middle of the winter that just happened to be held in the Palm Desert area of Calif…and he just happened to stay around for some golf that his big donors owned.
I have absolutely NO Problems with our Presidents or the Cabinet taking some personal time and getting away…but the media needs to be fair about it. Yes, I know.

  7. So — per @marca and the Chiefio blog thread on the subject:

The Los Alamos National Laboratory confirms that the Ro (replication factor) of the WUHAN CORONAVIRUS is between 4.7 and 6.6.
This is the equivalent Ro factor for POLIO and SMALLPOX.
While there is an effective vaccine for Polio; and that Smallpox has been eradicated in almost all modern countries – there is NO vaccine as yet for the Wuhan virus and research on effective treatment is in its infancy.

Also — it appears that the Communist Chinese government has decreed that ALL apartment buildings in Wuhan now be locked down with their inhabitants inside. Anybody who wants to go outside now must get government permission.

  10. Gee, sure is funny how the DoJ announces it is not going to pursue charges against McCabe AT THE SAME TIME that Barr gives an interview suggesting a rift between he and PDJT precisely when the MSM is attempting to create a narrative that Barr and POTUS are going to weaponize the DoJ to punish PDJT’s political enemies.

FWIW, I believe that Barr’s interview and the McCabe news is a classic misdirection ploy that undermines the new media narrative re: Barr & PDJT.

WE NEED a working alternative to WP and twitter for communications.

Not many of you heeded Wolfie’s request to sign onto Gab an get into the QTree chat room he set up.

Wolfie, correct me if any of the above is not correct, or if you need to post the “how to” here again.

Here are ALL the QTreepers that I follow on Gab. This means:
    1. If you’re not signed into the chat room, please get onto gab and request an invite from Wolfie.
    2. If you don’t see your gab name below, please let us know your gab handle so we can connect.

It’s a drag to dig out old passwords, but given the level of sophisticated attacks against 8kun lately, let’s do what we can to establish bunkers for communication BEFORE we need them. Once everyone is accessing the private chat room, we could set a day of the week to each log in for any messages from anyone.

  13. It’s a bright, sunny day with clear skies here. As I left the house early afternoon I looked upward to see a large bird overhead. It was a gorgeous red-tail hawk on the hunt, lazily circling the neighborhood, and the sun was just perfect…shining through the spread out tail with the most vivid shades of orange/red showing.
Our adopted feral cat is peacefully sleeping on the sofa in a sunny spot.
All sorts of tiny birds are feasting on the dried meal worms outside the kitchen door.
And there are signs of spring in the landscape every where you look.
Kind of keeps everything in perspective in all this turmoil.

          1. IDK, TBH. My dad did the same thing over the summer to the forsythia and the rose of sharon that grew up in it. Mom and I were like, “Cool.”

      “Pippa’s Song”

      The year’s at the spring,
      And day’s at the morn;
      Morning’s at seven;
      The hill-side’s dew-pearl’d;

      The lark’s on the wing;
      The snail’s on the thorn;
      God’s in His heaven –
      All’s right with the world!

    1. After today’s rehearsal, that struck me…in a good place. I mean, there’s four different versions of the score and all the cues are not in all the editions and counting in seven in confusing for amateurs who think they know than they do and can’t keep their place or the page.

And then my choir crapped out because they don’t like the composer, so I’m the lone representative.

And I’m just waiting for it all to be over – and I still have to memorize the darn thing.

      Liked by 4 people

        1. When it comes to this particular set of scores, even I have verbalized how convoluted they are. Some editor thought he/she was being cute with all the repeats and such. Amateur musicians are lovely people, but they don’t count rest the way pros have to. And they are not going to, either.

I mean, it’s a struggle for them. And today, even I had to get up and look at the director’s score for clarification on something.

          1. The KISS method is still a great one… Keep It Simple Stupid ! Late Hubby used to repeat it often… *smiling*

Hope you all move gently through the performance…

              1. DP, your post about the expensive scores reminded me of a couple of things.
I do know that many conductors select public domaine music for that very reason to keep the performance costs down per concert. In our community, often each concert’s music scores are a recognized financial donation by patrons.
But, the main point I wanted to make is the last 2 concerts we recently attended the featured guest artists had their music scores on an IPad! So, instead of flipping the pages they just touch the screen to the next part. One was a cello player and the other was part of a husband/wife piano duet. Interestingly, the male (several years older than his wife) used the IPad and she came out each time with a huge portfolio of sheet music.
I have yet to see it among orchestra players but I’m wondering if this might not be a trend. I certainly can see some advantages. Are you seeing this in your area?

                Liked by 1 person

              2. Yes, it is a trend and I flat out refuse to do it. One, the darn devices are heavier than the scores half the time, and you can’t write on the music. My music is ALWAYS coated with handwritten notes. You can’t do that on an iPad. I’m waiting for a director somewhere to ban the things and go back to the tried and true.

                Liked by 1 person

              3. Well, so far I’ve only seen it with the guest artists and, of course, that’s their choice. Actually. I was impressed at how seamless it was for them…less distracting than whipping the pages…or, in the case of a pianist with a page-turner…nodding for the page to be turned. Perhaps they made their notes and transferred them to a “new score.” On the other hand, they’ve probably played the music so many times they no longer need to mark their scores.

              4. And about public domain music…there’s a reason a lot of choirs are into Renaissance and Baroque. It’s usually free. Pastors are NOTORIOUS for looking at music budgets and wanting to cut them. never mind that the musicians still need to pay bills.

  17. Okay, who is handing out case assignments in this district? That person or committee needs to be identified. I doubt they pick case names out of a hat.

U.S. District Judge Amy Berman Jackson was assigned to Mr. Strozk’s legal challenge to regain his old job at the bureau. She has also managed most of the cases that have come out of special counsel Robert Mueller’s Russian election meddling probe.

Among the high profile Mueller defendants that have landed in her courtroom are President Trump’s former campaign chairman Paul Manafort, longtime political lobbyist W. Samuel Patten, political advisor Roger Stone and former Obama White House counsel Greg Craig.

    1. An Obama appointee, Judge Jackson has served on the court since 2011.

On Tuesday, Mr. Strzok filed a lawsuit against the FBI, Attorney General William P. Barr and FBI Director Christopher A. Wray alleging they were pressured to fire him after his private text messages disparaging the president became public.

He claimed that his firing is the result of “unrelenting pressure from President Trump and his political allies in Congress. The former G-Man is seeking reinstatement and back pay.

      1. Another set up, First the Stone sentence proposal POTUS Tweets Barr response and now in the theme of pressured Strzok files a law suit against POTUS.
See how that works. Barr will be called as witness conversations between him and POTUS will be divulged. Around and around we go and the Judge will clean POTUS wallet. What a farce. Who is the prosecutor another hatched men/woman?

Thom Tillis is a Republican monster

We need MAGA candidates to win the primary

        1. Defeating him in the primary and then electing the GOP primary winner in the general election against the Dem in Nov. gets rid of Tillis in the primary and yet keeps the GOP seat in the Nov election.

We do NOT need Tillis to win the primary in order for the GOP to win the NC US Senate seat in Nov!

Ditching Tillis by electing someone else in the primary would probably pull in more voters. The more the candidate is MAGA the more the base is motivated.

Helping Tillis win the primary does not defeat the Dem and Tillis loosing in the primary does not mean the Dem will win in Nov against the GOP newcomer.

BEAT Tillis in the NC primary –>>> He *IS* Swamp!!!!!! RINO/Bush/Romney/COC…see his 2014 election and his Very public statements against Trump and pro open borders/illegal aliens in ’15-17.

He is ONLY campaign right to win the primary. See MO of McCain and so many more.

Same with Linsey in SC. BEAT Linsey in the primary. He is talking draining the swamp and MAGA and supporting Trump since ’18 because he is up for a Primary in which he needs the MAGA, Trump supporting voting base to elect him.

Primaries are where we elect MAGA candidates. In November its too late for MAGA as we need to elect All GOP to be the Dems.

I do not find that surprising given that Chinese steel is CRAP! Now that we have American steel again who wants to buy crap that breaks?
