Dear KMAG: 20191206 Open Thread

Welcome to the OPEN THREAD! With the decorations up, this weekend, it’s time to wrap the presents. Yes, these are photos from our attic, master-wrap-center, AKA Southern Regional Distribution Center for the North Pole. Grab the scissors and tape!

This Justice Is Coming December open thread is VERY OPEN – a place for everybody to post whatever they feel they would like to tell the White Hats, and the rest of the MAGA / KAG! / KMAG world.

Please feel free to comment. We have a new policy, starting 20191110. Keep it SOMEWHAT civil. Our rules began with the civility of the Old Treehouse, later to become the Wolverinian Empire, except of course that Q discussion is not only allowed but encouraged, and speech is considerably freer in other ways. Please feel free to argue and disagree with the board owner, as nicely as possible.

Please also consider the Important Guidelines, outlined here in the January 1st open thread. Let’s not give the odious Internet Censors a reason to shut down this precious haven.

We have a new board – actually a new SITE – called The U Tree – where people can take each other to the woodshed without fear of censorship or moderation. NOT HERE. This board will remain a REFUGE for those who need civility, either some or all of the time.

Please keep the President, his family and team in your thoughts and prayers. If you run into the President, SPEAK THE FIVE WORDS BOLDLY. “I AM PRAYING FOR YOU!

By you, the American People.

    1. If only I had any idea who Emma Thompson was.

Seems like I recognize the name so I’m guessing she’s a Hollywooo actress, but I can’t think of a single thing I’ve ever had the displeasure to see her in.

Okay, I just checked, and it’s even worse than I thought.

She has been acting since 1982, and the only thing I MIGHT have seen her in was a single episode of Cheers! back in 1992.

Here is her list of roles, most of it I’ve never heard of and the few that I have heard of aren’t anything I would watch:

      https://www.imdb.com/name/nm0000668/

      Here’s a more visually oriented link: https://www.blu-ray.com/Emma-Thompson/65900/

“I mean, the crazy lady gave up Kenneth Brannaugh as a spouse.”

          __________

Again, it seems like I should know that name, but he’s not in any of the kind of movies I would normally watch.

Here’s his list, I’ve never seen any of it:

          https://www.imdb.com/name/nm0000110/

His average movie rating is a ‘7’.
          https://www.blu-ray.com/Kenneth-Branagh/67361/

Anything below 7 is usually about unwatchable, with the exception of certain cult classics. And even most of those are at least a ‘7’, like ‘Escape from New York‘ (rated 7.7 out of 10).

I mean, Snake Plissken is kickin’ Kenneth Branaugh’s a$$, lol!

Then there is my hubby, who nails it in one sentence. Re: The Dems, impeachment, etc.:

“When people act in an irrational manner, they’re acting out of fear.”

I think that sums it up and should ease our fears. Pelosi and gang are crazy with fear, and that’s why they’ve gone down path. The MSM must be afraid too, for they’re all in.

Just think how delicious it’s going to be when all of the corruption is exposed.

The Bernie Sanders campaign has fired newly hired official Darius Khalil Gordon after the Washington Free Beacon uncovered numerous derogatory remarks he’d made towards gays, Jews, and women.

The Sanders campaign told CNN Friday afternoon that Gordon had been let go, but did not comment on his remarks. “He is no longer with the campaign and we wish him the best,” campaign spokesman Mike Casca said.

Gordon announced on Wednesday that he had been hired as the campaign’s new deputy director of constituency organizing. Neither Gordon nor the campaign responded to Free Beacon inquiries.

Top Democrats called for restricting Americans’ constitutionally protected Second Amendment rights on Friday in response to an alleged Saudi Arabian military official opening fire and killing several people at a U.S. naval base in Florida.

Sen. Elizabeth Warren (D-MA) tweeted: “Pearl Harbor. Pensacola. Not even our military bases are safe from gun violence. I’m heartsick for the victims and their families. We must end this epidemic and protect the lives of our service members.”

South Bend, Indiana Mayor Pete Buttigieg tweeted: “While we wait for more information, my thoughts are with the victims and their families. Service members and the dedicated civilians who support them deserve nothing less than safety on American soil and communities free from gun violence. Enough.”

Former San Antonio Mayor Julian Castro tweeted: “Not even our military bases are safe from mass shootings. From Pearl Harbor to Pensacola, gun violence is destroying our communities. My deepest condolences to the grieving families. This can’t be the world we want our kids to grow up in. We must act.”

Sen. Amy Klobuchar (D-MN) tweeted: “The shooting in Pensacola has wounded several people and taken the lives of at least three victims. This is the second shooting to happen this week at a Navy base. As we learn more about the situation, there’s one thing we know: Gun violence just has to stop.”

Marianne Williamson, who is surprisingly still in the race, tweeted: “What will it take to wage peace? It will take outer work and it will also take inner work. It will take regulating our guns and it will also take regulating our hearts.

  7. just like the light bulbs–newer is not always better…some toilets have to be flushed more than once…is that wasting water?
    FTA
President Trump said he had directed the Environmental Protection Agency to consider loosening water efficiency standards for toilets and other bathroom appliances.

“We have a situation where we’re looking very strongly at sinks and showers and other elements of bathrooms,” Trump said Friday.

“People are flushing toilets 10 times, 15 times, as opposed to once,” Trump said. “They end up using more water.”

Trump said he had told the EPA to look into “opening up the standard,” though he didn’t say specifically which standard.

He complained that strict conservation standards had damaged the performance of bathroom appliances.

“You go into a new building, a new house, a new home, and they have standards on where you don’t get water,” Trump said. “You can’t wash your hands practically, so little water comes out of the faucet.”

The U.S. Navy sailor who fatally shot two people at Pearl Harbor before killing himself was unhappy with his commanders and had been undergoing counseling, a military official said Friday.

Gabriel Romero, 22, also faced non-judicial punishment, which is a lower-level administrative process for minor misconduct, said the official, who spoke on condition of anonymity to discuss personnel matters not made public. He used his two service weapons in the attack, the official said.

Romero also wounded a 36-year-old man in the attack Wednesday at the naval shipyard within the storied military base before turning the gun on himself, authorities said. That victim is in stable condition at a hospital.

  10. Re: Punisher Skull

    What is it?

A: The Punisher is a fictional character, an antihero, that appears in comic books published by Marvel Comics. The Punisher will employ the same tactics used by evil… murder, blackmail, torture, etc…to fight and defeat evil. The Punisher is an alternative take on the George Orwell quote: “We sleep safely in our beds at night only because rough men stand ready in the night to visit violence on those who would do us harm.”

The Punisher skull was adopted by SEAL Team 3 during the opening year of the Iraq War.

    Why a skull?

A: Man has been using skulls throughout history to intimidate enemies, to warn of danger and the morally questionable, and to mark our death vaults. It’s hard not to react when viewing a human skull. After all, it’s a direct confrontation of our own mortality.

Why did SEAL Team 3 adopt the Punisher skull?

A: The team adopted it as a unofficial coat-of-arms — the logo was something for American troops to rally behind and a signal to their enemies that the SEALs were coming for them. They called themselves “the Punishers”, labeling their gear with the four-fang skull and painting it on walls of Iraqi homes and buildings to mark their territory.

    .
    .
    When was it popularized?

A: When the public found out about US Navy SEAL Sniper Chris Kyle, the “American Sniper”, aka “The Devil of Ramadi” aka “Legend” aka “Tex”, who was a member of SEAL team 3. This was well after Kyle had become famous inside military circles,,not just for his considerable combat skills (sniper was only one of several) but also his luck on the battle field.

    From Wikipedia….

“Because of his track record as a marksman during his deployment to Ramadi, the insurgents themselves named Kyle “Shaitan Ar-Ramadi” (English: “The Devil of Ramadi”), and put a $20,000 bounty on his head which was later increased to $80,000. They posted signs highlighting the cross on his arm as a means of identifying him. During four (4) tours of duty in the Iraq War, he was shot twice and survived six separate IED detonations.

Today, the Punisher logo is inextricably linked to the SEALs and especially the legend of Chris Kyle, the most deadly American sniper of all time.

    .
    .
    .
    Addendum:

For as long as mankind has engaged in combat it has been considered a very great honor to earn a nickname from one’s enemies. The US Marines, for example, were nicknamed “Devil Dogs” from official German reports which called the Marines at the Battle of Wood “Teufel Hunden” and are still unofficially known by that nickname today.

It is even more rare for an individual line soldier to earn such distinction, much less warrant a bounty placed upon him, as the Iraqi’s did with Chris Kyle. The last US soldier to earn this distinction was another US sniper during the Vietnam war, another legendary marine named Carlos Hathcock, aka “The White Feather”, whom the VietCong also placed a bounty.

It was Hathcock who went on to establish the US Marine Sniper School, the model upon which all US sniper schools are based upon today.

    Liked by 13 people

    1. Re: Carlos Hathcock

One of the most incredible feats Hathcock performed was using a .50 Cal machine gun to snipe a VietCong Officer off of his bicycle.

Hathcock was at a forward “fire base”, which was a base hacked out of the jungle inside enemy territory. The marines would clear the jungle up to a mile away from the base so as not to give the VC any natural cover from observation and protect against an attack on a base. However, the VC would regularly make their presence known by moving around the bases within sight but out of small arms range.

On the day in question Hathcock had gotten tired of what he felt was the disrespect of the VC and the brazen way they would move around in plain sight of the base in question, so he decided he would do something about it.

Taking his sniper scope off of his rifle, he jerry rigged it to a .50 Cal Browning machine gun (shown below).

The .50 Cal is a “heavy weapon” gun. It is the same machine gun that was used in WW II fighter aircraft to shoot down enemy planes. It has an effective range of 7,000 meters, or about 4 miles. It was never intended to be a sniper gun, but it was the only weapon that could do what Hathcock wanted to do…which was reach out and kill a VC out in the open a mile away from the camp.

Long story made shorter….Carlos got everything together and waited for the right moment. Sure enough, a VC officer made an appearance out of the jungle carrying some gear on a bicycle. Carlos took aim by banging on the side of the machine gun to get it to swivel, then let go a single round (a .50 cal machine gun has such a low cycle rate that it is possible to shoot a single round off even though the gun itself is only a fully automatic gun).

      The result?

Hathcock’s shot blew the VC officer in two (due to the extremely high kinetic energy of a .50 cal. round) and the VC stopped showing themselves in broad daylight around that base. It was the beginning of a legend that would ultimately earn Hathcock his nickname from the enemy as well as a bounty on his head.

        1. I’m not sure what you are asking.

Today there are .50 cal. sniper rifles which have gained a great deal of notoriety due to the effectiveness of the round. Not only can these rifles snipe individuals, they can also be used to incapacitate a vehicle. There are many variants of this kind of weapon today.

I believe the McMillan TAC-50 was the first one ever made (late ‘80’s)….shown here…

    1. Yeah, the trads have been talking about it. Apparently, the Peter’s Pence money that was misappropriated went to a management company and this is what they invested in. I’m all for patronizing starving artists, but this DOES NOT qualify.

  11. Okay, this is really weird. Remember Q showing all the tweets about the guy killing a mob boss and they blamed Q for it? Suddenly in my Twitter timeline, there are tons of those tweets with the same picture. And I don’t follow any of these people.

    1. Today’s drop 3650 has as an example 16 different people tweeting that same NYT article where they blame Q for the guy that killed the Mafia boss. DS is trying to discredit Q.

    2. Fakey McFakerton faking fakery.

He knows he’s going to prison….this is his strategy for getting sentenced to a Club Fed facility vs. a hard prison.

      This is also Hillary’s strategy.

      We’ll be seeing a lot of this, I suspect…

“Your honor, my client is in no physical or mental condition to survive in a hard environment like that and we’re asking for the sentence to be served at XYZ facility on humanitarian grounds.”

  12. Learning from our VSG, President Trump, there is value in being vindictive. He’s right, the “payback” is important to set the stage for future interaction. Fear and respect are closely related.
France is on fire right now, and Canada had the worst jobs report since 2009 – lost 71K jobs.
We love the French people and the Canadians but their leaders are fools.

    1. “Learning from our VSG, President Trump, there is value in being vindictive.“

Sayings like “Peace through strength” lose all value or effect if vindictiveness is thrown out. “Pay back” is necessarily implied.

Which is why despite what your momma told you, violence does solve problems. After all, Epstein didn’t kill himself, and neither did Osama Bin Laden.

“O American people – I’m not against you for being American, I don’t hate you because your freedoms, I hate you because every day you supporting, funding and committing crimes not only against Muslims but against humanity. What I see from America is the supporting of Israel which is invasion of Muslim countrie (sic), I see invasion of many countries by its troops, I see Guantanamo Bay. I see cruise missiles, cluster bombs and UAV.”

An America-hater allowed to train on our military base. Infuriating!
