20191024: VP Pence Speech on China

This speech has been canceled several times and has grown to be legendary even before it was delivered. It’s going to be a hum-dinger. We will add the transcript as soon as it is available. This speech will be referenced often.

  1. daughn, Thank you for the link to Spalding yesterday.
This video addresses our situation with China very clearly. Robert Spalding’s conclusion is in keeping with my understanding of how things must be done. America First!!

  2. Oh, this is a great speech. Just a minute into it after the “introductions”, and it has the entire Trump policy on China IN FOCUS. And WHOA. Here is where the rubber meets the road.

    WHAT is the TRUMP DIFFERENCE?

WHAT is the fundamental reason WHY Trump MATTERS on China? Why he MUST be re-elected?

    ACTION – not TALK.

PROMISES KEPT – not empty promises made.

An ABSOLUTE REFUSAL to COMPROMISE FURTHER on a FAIR RESULT.

This is where CHINA nickels and dimes all adversaries (meaning EVERYBODY) BELOW and BENEATH a fair outcome. Trump will have NONE OF THAT.

CHINA WILL FORCE ALL OPPONENTS to “DEAL THEMSELVES DOWN TO A LOSS”.

TRUMP STANDS STRONG – WILL NOT BUDGE.

This is the only way to deal with China. Exactly what Trump is doing.

    1. This was the gauntlet.
      Impressive.
Wise to choose Pence to deliver it.
Throw down on the Uighurs and the NBA.
Broad swipe at Wall Street and do not underestimate our resilience.
      Well done.

China is continuing to reward and coerce american businesses movie studios universities think tanks scholars journalists and local state and federal officials to influence the public debate here in America.

Lately China’s also been trying to export censorship, the hallmark of its regime, by exploiting corporate greed, Beijing it attempting to influence American public opinion, coercing corporate America

Far too many American multi-national corporations have kow-towed to the lure of China’s money and markets by muzzling not only criticism of the Chinese Communist party but even affirmative expressions of American values.

Nike promotes itself as a so-called “Social Justice Champion” but when it comes to Hong Kong, it prefers checking its social conscious at the door. Nike stores in Hong Kong actually removed Houston Rockets merchandise from their shelves to join the Chinese government in protest against the Rockets’ General Manager seven word tweet which read “Fight for freedom Stand with Hong Kong.

And some of the NBA’s biggest players and owners who routinely exercise their freedom to criticize this country lose their voices when it comes to the freedom and rights of the people of China. In siding with the Chinese communist party and silencing free speech, the NBA is acting as a wholly owned subsidiary of that authoritarian regime.

A progressive corporate culture that willfully ignores the abuse of human rights is not progressive, it is repressive.

When American corporations, professional sports, and pro-athletes embrace censorship, it’s not just wrong: It’s un-American. American corporations should stand up for American values here, at home, and around the world.

  4. My feeling is that now that the Spygate garbage is all but locked in, the threat to Pence (Flynn took the bullet) is now far enough away that it is time to put him out there in a more visible position on foreign policy matters.

It’s also important to send a strong message: If you impeach Trump, you’re going to get President Mike Pence.

(Pence is safe because Flynn is now safe. Sidney is ready for war.)

And the optics are clear: Mike Pence isn’t going to back down or change our foreign policy. That’s why Pence was chosen to throw down the foreign policy gauntlet – there is now NO QUESTION that Pence is 100% with Trump on foreign policy matters. Pence officially just put the entire LEFT on notice. This was a message intended for THEM.

Sure sure. Pence could still RINO us – but he gave himself NO wiggle room to do so after that speech. The message to the LEFT and to us is that He is a Trump conservative and he will carry forward the mantle of Trump foreign policy should he be called upon to do so. Don’t expect the LEFT to believe that Pence is a RINO after that speech – we shouldn’t believe it either.

So we have Mike and Mike – Pence and Pompeo – do the impossible on the world stage: Make peace where there was no change of peace.

Pence was not just a figure head – he went to Turkey armed with the full authority of the President to negotiate and deliver a favorable outcome.

Don’t miss the incredible importance of this moment. The VP is acting not as a figure head position but as a lynch-pin in achieving STRATEGIC U.S. FOREIGN POLICY OBJECTIVES. Pence fights and gets the win for his cap and some genuine media attention.

People have noticed. This is Pence’s win.

    He is being placed visibly.

And Pence now has shockingly good bona fide foreign policy credentials. The Left and the NeverTrump elites will go nuts but they CANNOT take the victory from him. No amount of gas-lighting will take this win away.

One of the most important tasks of every CEO in every leadership training I’ve ever heard is developing a sound succession plan. Many companies FAIL because the CEO has a poor or non-existent succession plan and a doofus ends up ruining the company. Jim Collins, Built to Last focuses on CEO succession plans.

I have no doubt at all that Trump is intentionally setting up a succession plan, hand picking a successor to serve as the next CEO of the United States, and that person is Mike Pence.

Trump has made sure that there are many others who are qualified with real experience, unlike the Republican Clown Car of 2016. There are now plenty of very solid alternate candidates.

But Pence is the chosen successor. Yes I’d love to see President Ron deSantis. Pence is the chosen successor.
