Dear KMAG: 20190913 Open Topic

Happy Friday! Are we ready for a weekend? Settle into the Q Treehouse and let’s catch up. Let’s see what our buddies are doing down the street and across the world. Yes, it is Friday the 13th, but bad karma can’t touch us. In fact, this Friday afternoon would be a lovely time for a big info drop from the OIG, especially since it’s the 13th.

We welcome you to the Q Tree, WQTH! Here, you can say what you want, comment on what other people said, and so on. Free Speech is practiced here. ENJOY IT. Use it or lose it. Please, keep it SOMEWHAT civil because most of the people here are our friends. They tried to FORCE fake Orwellian civility on us. In response, we CHOOSE true civility to defend our precious FREEDOM from THEM.

Please also consider the Important Guidelines, outlined here in the January 1st open thread. Let’s not give the odious Internet Censors a reason to shut down this precious haven.

You may have noticed the sun has shifted and the days are getting shorter. Time to get out of our Treehouse for a while and still enjoy the outdoors while we prepare for winter. When we were little, we could watch a caterpillar for hours…….. and in the grand scheme of life, probably more important than our latest text message. Yet, it’s mid-September and time to take that last dip in the lake…….

…… before we stock the pantry, recaulk the exterior doors, and clean gutters. Don’t forget to clean out the birdhouses and bird baths for winter. Might be nice to make a little treehouse, a smaller version of our own, for our fine feathered friends.

Never let the music die, and look for the music in the most unexpected places.

As we discuss topics of the day, never forget Wheatie’s Rules.

  1. No food fights.
  2. No running with scissors.
  3. If you bring snacks, bring enough for everyone.

Our rules began with the civility of the Old Treehouse, later to become the Wolverinian Empire, and one might say that we have RESTORED THE OLD REPUBLIC – the early high-interaction model of the Treehouse – except of course that Q discussion is not only allowed but encouraged, and speech is considerably freer in other ways. Please feel free to argue and disagree with the board owner, as nicely as possible.

SPEAK THE FIVE WORDS BOLDLY TO OUR PRESIDENT, “I AM PRAYING FOR YOU!

When you’re finished with chores and taken a walk in the forest, come on back to the Q Treehouse. We’ll still be here.

      1. Just in case any of us who would be Knights Templar, and who do not want to find ourselves dead in a cage on the roadway. Oh, wait. That was Friday, October 13.

Nope. Today, especially if you are a teacher, cop or ER nurse, this is the real issue:

Sprung hubby from the cardio unit this am (3 stents placed last night), and the unit nurse commented they all dreaded today because in her several years of experience…there definitely is a connection between the two.

    1. Prayers now for you Rodney. Not on soc media… not trying to be nosy Rodney, but I have something wrong with my leg for over 20 years but simple treatment could have kept it from deforming my calf. I went to several docs for it, and finally found a doc 7 years ago who went to her textbooks and confirmed the treatment for which I was asking. Diagnosis? Or do they even know?

      1. I have perephial vascular disease (sorry for spelling) and my legs swell up from time to time, mostly my right leg and it keeps ripping an old scar open.I have no pulse in my right ankle and it is weak at my knee.
Now my new Dr has sent me to a specialist and wants to replace the veins in my right leg from my chest to my ankle.

        1. So sorry Rodney. I supposedly have Lipodermatosclerosis which I acquired about 8 years after vein stripping knee to ankle. Thank God, so far no ulcerations, but pretty much assures a poor outcome if I have knee replacements for my bone on bone knees.
Just a question, do the MDs think there is a chance your body can/will find/grow it’s own new path for blood flow instead of going through the surgery. Two years ago I was told that I only had 10% circulation in my right foot and I was going to loose it. BS. I don’t think those dopplers are all they are cracked up to be. When I change positions my circulation improves. If I am laying flat on my back as during a doppler test, they think I am dead.

Not telling you what to do, but many years ago, when open heart surgery was being explored, my friend was a nurse at a hospital doing the new surgeries. She was livid…saying that she was seeing older people walk in for the surgery who couldn’t run because they had heart disease, but they could walk with resting periodically. They usually went out on a slab.

I wonder if you don’t just need sound wound therapy for the ulcerative location and keeping away from long periods of standing or sitting.
Prayers for your body and decisions Rodney. God bless you and yours.

p.s. My thinking is based on my age of 74 which does color my perspectives.
The reason I had the vein stripping back then was because of a ruptured vein that ruptured again at age 40 after a hysterectomy and I was put on hormone replacements. Within 3 months the vein ruptured again. Hormone replacement is notorious for cancer and vein problems as is the birth control pill.

I see the specialist the 30th and am actually feeling really good about the results from yesterdays test.Even though my veins are alot worse that in 2015 the tech that did the test said not to get alarmed. My primary physician is looking at worse case scenario and the tech thinks he is off base. The specialist I see the 30th is the best on the left coast and I have alot of prayers behind me so I am not gonna sweat the small stuff and leave it in Gods hands.

    1. Of course he has.

But all the left has is lies, invective, and rank hypocrisy.

It’s really quite simple. They’ve painted themselves into a corner be trying to pretend they are orally righteous. They cab’t admit the truth, because that would be admitting that they’re lying, hypocritical jackasses, and that would destroy any kind of support they have.

      Make no mistake.

Today’s leftists are EXACTLY no different than Hitler or Stalin. To them, the end justifies the means. And rather than admit he was wrong, rather than admit he was defeated, Hitler insisted on the deaths of hundreds of thousands of Germans and their children….the almost total destruction of all of Germany….before he took the corward’s way out and committed suicide. Hitler would rather have seen his beloved Germany in RUINS…and did….rather than save his country from total destruction and the loss of life that went along with that.

Today’s leftist are absolute no different. They are FANATICS. Just as convinced of their own “superiority”, moral and otherwise, as Hitler and the “master race” ever was.

And today’s leftists are absolutely, positively, just as vile and evil. You’ve all seen the latest from them. Do you really think that scum would draw the line at infanticide??

      No. Fucking. Way.

Infanticide is simply a starting point for the evil the left wants to unleash on the world. History repeats itself, because after such kind has been slaughtered and their numbers drastically reduced, there comes the time of peace when they are allowed to build up their numbers once again.

Thus, “the tree of Liberty must be watered from time to time with the blood of patriots and tyrants alike.”

Rinse, repeat. Over and over again.

A very sad, but altogether unavoidable truth…grounded in the unchanging nature of mankind. The times change, but but human nature….particularly it’s worst traits….never do.

  5. Well, if piano performance is an available topic, here is Marc-Andre Hamelin. It should be noted that the sheet music for this piece is notated with “cadenza ad lib” at the end…..which essentially means, “keep rockin'”. Many pianists record the piece without a cadenza because it’s already freaking exhausting. Hamelin’s cadenza is noteworthy for being equally as manic as the piece.

This youtube is also hilarious because there is a point where a drop of sweat drips from the end of Hamelin’s nose. It’s only funny because: concert hall, fancy dress, formal piece, stuffy conventions of behavior…..it’s totally understandable from the difficulty of what Hamelin is doing so beautifully and with such effort and technique. And he is truly a master demonstrating mastery.

    1. Now, now. Those stage lights are HOT. I mean HOT. And most orchestras and concert halls have it in the union contracts that the AC blowers not be on during performance. Essentially, the air currents blow the music off the stands.

And concert black is HOT. I mean HOT to work in. One time, a chorus member I used to sing with took a thermometer on stage and by the time we were done with an 83 minute piece with no intermission (Beethoven Missa Solemnis) which just happens to call for a 120 piece orchestra, including the big organ that throws off heat, it was 100 degrees on the stage. We were all dripping. I felt like I had been hit by a Mack truck.

After that performance, even the orchestra wanted the AC running when the chorus was on the stage.

And really, if people knew what really happened on a symphony stage, and that the white tie, black tie, etc., is a uniform to all of us, orchestral music might be more respected.

          1. We go to several Live from the Met broadcasts every season and over the years have come to recognize several of the chorus members (as well as the non-singing cast)…fanciful elves one performance, Roman soldiers the next one, etc.
We were in a national parks tour a few years ago and became friendly with another couple, she a professional opera singer in NYC. We learned a lot about being in the Met chorus….she eschewed it because of the long hours of rehearsal (often more than one production at the same time), the hours of costume-fitting, the choreography rehearsal, etc. evidently she could get enough private gigs to not need the steady paycheck. I enjoyed her perspective and it’s made me appreciate the chorus more.

            Liked by 1 person

            1. In NYC it’s easier to make it. Here, EVERYBODY other than the symphony members themselves has multiple gigs or jobs. The chorus only meets once a week. And you are expected to put in extra work outside of rehearsal to learn your part.

I was in the Cathedral Choir at the same time. There were only three of us that were then. There were stretches where I was putting in 32 hours in an office, 3-4 evenings of 3 hour rehearsals, and then performances on the weekends.

When I shed both gigs, I didn’t realize how tired I was.

    1. We also get a Harvest Moon tonight, on Friday the 13th.

      .

The Almanac explains how this is not only an early ‘Harvest Moon’…but also a ‘MicroMoon’…and how rare it is for us to have a Full Moon on Friday the 13th:

      https://www.almanac.com/content/full-moon-september

      ——— From the article:

September’s Full Moon: A “Micromoon” Harvest Moon on Friday the 13th!

This month’s full Moon rises on the night of Friday, September 13, and reaches peak fullness at 12:33 a.m. EDT on the 14th.

Yes, that’s right—the brilliant Harvest Moon makes its annual appearance on Friday the 13th this year! What a clash of lore! Look skyward on Friday night for the best view of the shining Full Harvest Moon (but watch out for black cats and open ladders, too).

How Rare is a Full Moon on Friday the 13th?

Because Friday the 13th only happens between one and three times a year, it’s not particularly common for the full Moon to line up with it exactly. The last time there was a full Moon on Friday the 13th was in January 2006—13 years ago—and the next won’t occur until August 2049. Needless to say, cherish it this year!

      What is a Micromoon?

As if this Harvest Moon wasn’t interesting enough already, September’s full Moon will also be a “micromoon.”

By this time, you’ve probably heard of a supermoon. A micromoon is exactly the opposite: a full Moon that occurs when the Moon is at the farthest point in its orbit around Earth (the point of apogee). In other words, the Moon is about as far from Earth as it can get, causing it to appear about 7% smaller and 15% dimmer than usual.
      ———————–

      Pretty cool, huh?
      🤓😀

Let’s hope the moon-worshiping death-cult Islamists don’t take this as a ‘signal’ to go out and kill people.

I hold an optimistic perspective on Powell’s moves, and believe Powell has solid arguments backed up by facts for the Court to delve into.

Margot Cleveland, a lawyer, and law professor wrote this analysis. Robert Barnes, another well-known conservative legal name has tweeted it. Worth reading, Cleveland does a good job with her analysis, pointing out weaknesses and strengths of Sidney’s motion.

    1. Thanks, Lady P. I’ve read Sidney’s filing and this is a good follow up. I pray Judge Sullivan is up to the task of serving justice within our politicized system. It has been a real eye opener to realize the DOJ has all the tools to ‘legally’ bankrupt a presumably innocent person under the guise of prosecution.

Will watch this play out with great interest. It seems Brady is a great tool on behalf of defendants, however it appears the defense attorneys have to already know everything the prosecutors haven’t disclosed (hence Sidney’s 40-item list) or else the prosecution will not ‘come clean’. Very biased in favor of our crooked DOJ bureaucracy.

      Stay tuned …

McCabe can afford lawyers who have spent the past year appealing the potential charges, and other folks – get 6AM door knocks with full SWAT teams and FBI guys with drawn guns.

    WHY NC-9 SHOULD FRIGHTEN DEMOCRATS
Minority voters are starting to walk away.

    https://spectator.org/why-nc-9-should-frighten-the-democrats/

    QUOTE:

“Last week the Democrats were touting the special election in North Carolina’s 9th District as the first major contest of the 2020 cycle, and the polls indicated that Democrat Dan McCready might win what should be a pretty safe GOP seat. But by Wednesday morning, after Republican Dan Bishop had won, their focus had shifted and much commentary was devoted to his “thin margin of victory.” Little notice was taken of certain voting patterns that should frighten the Democrats.

The most unnerving example, from the Democratic perspective, is rural Robeson County. The ethnic makeup of this county is as follows: Native American (38.6%), White (25.7%), Black (24%), Hispanic (8.52%), Two or More Races (2.15%), Asian (0.66%), Other (0.275%). On Tuesday the Democrat received a fraction of the votes he received in 2018, running for the same seat.

Ryan Matsumoto of Inside Elections provides the gory details: “McCready won Robeson County by only 1.11 points, a MASSIVE decrease from his 15.31 point margin last November.” In 2012, Obama carried Robeson by 17 points!

This is a county of about 143,000, and 74 percent of these folks are clearly not the racist rednecks the Democrats would have us believe make up most of the Trump/GOP base. The shift away from McCready was the result of disenchantment among minority voters with the Democrat. Moreover, though Robeson was the most obvious, it was by no means the only ethnically diverse county whose voters “walked away.” Nearly 60 percent of Cumberland County’s approximately 333,000 residents are Black, Hispanic, or a member of some other minority group. McCready won it in 2018. Dan Bishop won Cumberland on Tuesday.”

    1. Excellent, and just barely 10 months post 2018 election, the Dems are finding out that buyer’s remorse is bigger than they ever expected. In fact, they didn’t expect it – these are Dems not voting for the Dem, but turning out to vote. Bishop won by 4,000 votes, 2% points, would have been easy for 4,000 to stay home – which is the passive method used for voter disenchantment. No, these folks were active and voted for POTUS’ endorsed candidate.

That’s adds to the strength of what happened in NC-09.

American priest to Pope: I’m ‘wearied from being scorned and demonized by you’

In response to Pope Francis’s remarks about Americans and “rigid young priests,” Monsignor Charles Pope wrote on social media:

Santo Padre, I’m not feeling the love here, I don’t feel accompanied by you. Make room in your heart for me and others like me. I am not a young priest, but I know you don’t like my type of priesthood. Further I am an American and this mere fact seems to also make me troublesome in your eyes. I am not afraid of everything a you state, but I do have concerns for the ambiguity of some of your teachings and severity of some of your actions. Yet when we, your less favored sons, ask you questions you will not answer or clarify. In all this I am still your son and share the priesthood of Jesus with you. I await the solicitude and gentle care from you that you say I, and others like me, lack. Meanwhile I must honestly and painfully say that I am wearied from being scorned and demonized by you.

      Respectfully,

      Carlo.

Whoever says the economy is roaring is lying to you. FY2020 looks like it could be a very bad year if something does not change.

    Receipts (millions)
    $227, 965

    Outlays (millions)
    $428,309

    Deficit (millions)
    $200,349

The annual deficit is now at $1,067,157 (millions). Looks like FY2019 receipts will match FY2018 but spending has jacked up.

Things that need to happen. Now a must.

    1. Lower interest rates
    2. USMCA gets approved
    3. China trade deal

The administration cannot wait too much longer to add stimulus to the economy. Whether it is the above three, or some short term measure, we absolutely need it now. POTUS will lose leverage if these results continue unabated. A healthy economy means the Federal government turns a profit.

Thank goodness we have braindead finance people running for the Democrat nomination.

        1. Yup, we need Boeing firing on all cylinders.

Last I read, a month or so ago, 737 MAX software would be ready for FAA review / certification last quarter this year.

While the software was faulty, I do wonder how much lack of pilot training / pilot experience played in the two or three crashes. Regardless, the software needed fixing.

Someone is our resident aviation guru so to speak. NYGuy? Wonder what his thoughts on this are?

    1. Thread reaffirms why we need Flynn in the Trump Administration.

After the case against Flynn is tossed, hope President Trump offers Flynn the National Security Adviser, again. President Trump unconventional way of operating in DC, allows this decision.

The Flynn case getting tossed, regaining the National Security Adviser position would be total vindication, me thinks.

MCM, D-Rat splody heads would be a sight to behold;-)

Wild card for me, would Flynn reenter the Fray in that position. Thinking he would.

    1. It’s all about the USChamber and trade with China – they want things to go back to the way it was – keep stealing from the USA and doing biz in China.
Every one of them are attacking the Pres on social issues to drag down his approval rating…. but it has nothing to do with their stance on guns.
Levis donated a million for gun campaign, but Levis has not made a pair of blue jeans in the USA since 2004.
It’s why Nike hired Colin Kaepernick.
The CEO of Nike can’t come out and lambast the Pres, and say “Hey, I really like the sweet deal we have, manufacturing in China, importing back to the USA with hardly any customs duty, and yeah…. we’re a little bit sorry for killing thousands of jobs in the USA, but we’re making a $.50 cheaper t-shirt —– so we’re serving the people.

  13. CHILDREN ARE A HERITAGE FROM THE LORD
    Michael Youssef, Ph.D.
    Sep 12, 2019
    abraham heritage promises of god

Some parents who are knee-deep in diapers and family deadlines may wonder if there will ever be a time when they can just relax and enjoy their children. The Truth is children can be a great comfort from the Lord. In them we can learn to see life from a different perspective—one of wonder and freshness.

When we get older, our children will be the hope of our heritage. Abraham understood this principle. He longed for a son but remained childless. God had promised him that Sarah would have a son. As the years moved on, Abraham wondered if this promise would be fulfilled. Then when Sarah was past childbearing age, she gave birth to Isaac. Scripture says:

Now the Lord was gracious to Sarah as he had said, and the Lord did for Sarah what he had promised. Sarah became pregnant and bore a son to Abraham in his old age, at the very time God had promised him. (Genesis 21:1-2)

    https://www.ltw.org/-/media/Images/LTW/Read/My%20Devotional/2019/09/edev_091219_2000x833%20jpg

We rejoice over the fact that God did exactly what He promised He would do.

Isaac’s birth was a cause for celebration but not just because of his birth. We rejoice over the fact that God did exactly what He promised He would do.

Like Sarah, you may have waited for years to have a child. Or there may be another promise you have from the Lord that has up until this point gone unanswered. When you think all hope is gone, God will step into your situation with an answer to your deepest prayer. There is no higher calling than to be a person who helps to mold and shape the life of a child. And there is no greater experience than to trust in Jesus Christ.

Prayer: Father, thank You for the gift of my children. Teach me to be a parent whose life is guided by Your Truth and wisdom. I pray in the name of Jesus. Amen.

“God is the strength of my heart and my portion forever” (Psalm 73:26).

In the movie, COS and real-prez were charged with 1) Election Fraud. 2) Obstruction of Justice. 3) Money laundering frpm S&L, instead of Russia. Oh, and at the end, 25th Amendment was used due to “incapacitation”. Sound familiar?

So the small group has been running a movie script all along! Throw in a couple of Clancey books, and you can see the progs everywhere.

    1. I totally disagree with the article.

No. 1 ……………. there’s no chance a DIM gets elected. Donald Trump will win in a landslide. By end of 2020 those judges who support the Constitution will be in the majority in almost all of the lower courts.

No. 2 …………….. what of the reasons there is such a long time coming for IG reports, declas etc is to continue to inform and redpill Americans. Trump supporters will not be rioting… and 99% of the SJWs and Commies live in coastal areas. LEO including Federal Marshals along with the Nat’l Guard will be available to maintain order.

Some people, esp. those too young to have lived through desegregation need to pull out a history book or two.

It really makes me livid when so-called intelligent people write articles like this.

Fwiw, though not a lawyer, I believe that General Flynn will not withdraw his guilty plea about lying because it allows him to demand the documents which prove the tremendous scope and illegality of the coup and disinformation waged against him as well as against the President and his supporters.

I pray that before he is done, the coup plotters and their stooges will begging for him to withdraw his plea and have the whole thing dismissed.

  16. Anyone wonder why the Democrat Party leaders don’t simply take out Joe Biden? Not hard to figure. They need him to go by himself, without their activism – and they certainly could get him out simply with the right narrative pushed by the MSM.

Right now they’re using subtle efforts, but they can’t go full out on this – unless they get desperate. Why?

Joe knows where all the bodies are buried, and even with his dementia, he’ll be able to tell enough stories that will have the Dems running for cover.

To me, like Hillary, Joe Biden is a perfect example of who they are: grasping, shallow, self serving, godless, ego-centric, deceitful, immoral tyrants.

      1. I agree with stupid candidate, and easily malleable, but Biden’s dementia is a big problem for them. IF he is the candidate, the Dems will have the problem of their voters staying home – hating Trump but not going to vote for a guy this over the hill. It will have adverse effects on their downticket races.

It may be that they believe (with some justification) that they can simply lie enough about an obvious truth to deceive enough of the public to allow them to justify their electoral cheating.

  17. Good Morning, WQTH Trump Troops and Prayer Warriors!

Our daughter Sally Q is home from the hospital after 21 days!!! We brought her home yesterday afternoon. She was so tired she slept last night from 10:30 pm to 10:30 am! No nurses to wake her up and take vital signs and give meds!

She will get her first shower and shampoo since August 21 – 22 days with just bed baths and dry shampoo!

We have new diet, exercise routines and recommendations from OT, PT, Dietician, Speech Pathologist. We are going to get a heart/BP monitor for home and a few other precautionary items and routines. It will take a bit more home care and assistance now.

Thank you all for your prayers and encouragement!!! ❤️ ❤️ ❤️ ❤️!!!!!

  19. the amount of money being sent to other countries is astounding!

    FTA:
The “Directo a Mexico” program Malkin references was started by former President George W. Bush’s administration in 2005, funneling remittances through the Federal Reserve directly to Mexico’s central bank, according to Judicial Watch, which has been suing the federal government for more information on the scheme.

“The Trump administration should release it to Judicial Watch and then shut it down,” Malkin said.

Malkin said when she first reported on Directo a Mexico, she discovered how American taxpayer money has funded the Federal Reserve’s marketing of the program to illegal aliens living in the U.S.

“I reported for the first time … how they marketed the program I believe it was in Minnesota,” Malkin said. “So taxpayer money was used to have a little fair and there were games and they brought families in to recruit illegal alien customers.”

“It’s very important that American taxpayers know that its largely their money that’s funding their own destruction,” Malkin said.

Every year, as Breitbart News has reported, about $150 billion in remittances are sent to foreign countries by illegal aliens and legal immigrants living in the U.S. This money is untaxed.

Mexico, in 2017 alone, received about $30 billion in untaxed remittances from foreign nationals living in the U.S., while China took in between $15 to $20 billion that year. India and the Phillippines also enjoyed more than $10 billion in untaxed remittances sent from foreign nationals living in the U.S.

    1. 1. Why would sealed indictments be outside of DC jurisdiction? What purpose would this serve?

A: To avoid the predominately leftist juries inside DC who would be told that any indictment against an Obama-era official was politically motivated.

      2. Why are judicial appointments being rapidly completed?

A: To prevent and forestall activist judges and the Lawfare gang from interfering with the coming prosecutions, esp. at the appellate level.

      3. Who can you trust?

A: Only President Donald J. Trump….whose life and fortunes….as we as that of his family’s…utterly depend on the successful elimination of the DC swamp.

    1. Nope, treason happened when Obama used FOREIGN spies on FOREIGN soil to spy on Americans in an effort to subvert the laws of the US to interfere in an election. Subversion of the people, sedition and Treason happened when they tried to remove Trump in 2017. But the former is conspiracy against the US and against the laws of the US (Constitution) with a foreign power. Benedict Arnold ring a bell? As a kicker, we STILL are at WAR in multiple countries, which makes ANY conspiracy against the interests of the US TREASON and punishable by DEATH.

    1. The thing about buybacks is that it tends to be law abiding citizens who take advantage, not criminals. There was one here, and, yeah, thousands of firearms were turned in, but it was the working class wanting the money more than anything else that made it a “success.” Crimes with firearms were not effected at the time.
