Conrad Black on PDJT

Many here know of my great appreciation and admiration for the insights and commentary of Conrad Black. If you don’t know who he is, here is his Wiki page:

https://en.m.wikipedia.org/wiki/Conrad_Black

Unlike almost any in the media, Black is in a unique position to evaluate PDJT as a fellow mogul. Indeed, he recently wrote a book about him, with a foreword written by Victor Davis Hanson…

While many here may have read his articles, or even his book, it is rare for Black to give an interview. But he did one with Byron York, and Black offers his insights and first-hand knowledge of the President going all the way back to PDJT’s 20’s. Past business deals, how POTUS really made his money, why his bankruptcies were NOT as bad as anyone (even us?) might think, etc. No, POTUS didn’t get rich off his dad. He is a self-made man who would NOT be a billionaire otherwise.

Did you know PDJT first began thinking of running for office in the early 2000’s? Want to know what Black says about 2020?

This interview is absolutely fascinating and a wonderful background to listen to while doing other things. Trust me, you WILL enjoy it and what you learn from it. I hope you enjoy and get out of it as much as I did. Let me know what you think.

  1. I like Conrad Black…and I was glad to see our President give him a Pardon.
From what I’ve read about those charges, he could very well have been framed.

Yes, I knew that Pres Trump was considering a run back in 1999 for the 2000 election.
It would’ve been as an Independent…or as the candidate of that 3rd party that Ross Perot started.

Our VSG probably studied the situation and decided that he would wait.
His children weren’t very old back then…and he was unmarried.

I think he did ‘The Apprentice’ as a way for the American People to get to know him.
It was a brilliant move by our VSG.
    😀😁

    1. I have heard DJT say that the main reason he did The Apprentice was to acquire the media skills he needed to run for POTUS. At the time I heard this, I marveled at the length he was willing to go in order to make a success out of his mission. Show ran for 14 seasons. While waiting for the opportune moment to strike, he just kept renewing his commitment to the show. It just happened to be numero uno in the ratings – a cherry on top if there ever was one.

  2. I wanted to follow up on the subject of Capitalism, Communism, the COUP and Donald Trump.

David Plouffe, President Obama’s campaign manager and Senior White House advisor tweeted:

    From: https://theconservativetreehouse.com/2017/05/18/reminder-david-plouffe-trump-must-be-destroyed/comment-page-1/“>Sundance

WHY did President Trump have to be UTTERLY DESTROYED??

WHY did anyone who might work in the Trump Admin have to be FRIGHTENED AWAY or DESTROYED??

singingsoul1 goes to the heart of the matter when she says says:

    Gail Combs
In true socialism that leads to communism being corporation is not a happy place to be because all is owned by the government and the corporate leaders will be like the worker in the end, serves [servants] to the cause….

    E. M. Smith in the quote I excerpted was talking about the economic continuum from:
‘Free Market’ laissez faire CAPITALISM ==> Socialist “Third Way” government – corporation “cooperation” aka Fascism

And then Fascism ===> Communism where there is ONE corporation and it IS the state.

FIRST it was the Central Banker/Elites who are behind Marx and Communism. The Elite tried two different methods of geting the serfs back under their control and governing them in such a manner that it maximized their output and minimized the chances of rebellion. They tried Pure Soviet Style Communism AND the EU style of Fascism. They decided Soviet Style Communism was a failure and pulled the plug and decided to instead go with the EU Fascism. (Notice the move in China IS towards ‘Fascism’)

Pascal Lamy, former Director General of the World Trade Orgainzation even TELLS us that is the goal!!!

He indicates that an European Union like super state has been the goal since the 1930s.
The world is headed toward greater degrees of globalization — deeper integration, wider cooperation and greater sharing of responsibilities. To govern this globalized world, writes World Trade Organization Director-General Pascal Lamy, existing institutions will need to be reformed to ensure they work together optimally.

    Pascal Lamy: Whither Globalization?

In the same way, climate change negotiations are not just about the global environment but global economics as well — the way that technology, costs and growth are to be distributed and shared…
Can we balance the need for a sustainable planet with the need to provide billions with decent living standards? Can we do that without questioning radically the Western way of life? …

Countries claim the right to use national resources as they see fit. But the byproduct can be greenhouse gases or disappearing fish stocks or raw material shortages — which impact the interconnected world we share….

This raises a final challenge: How to provide global leadership? Mobilizing collective purpose is more difficult when we no longer face one common enemy, but thousands of complex problems
The reality is that, so far, we have largely failed to articulate a clear and compelling vision of why a new global order matters — and where the world should be headed….

All had lived through the chaos of the 1930s …including the defeated powers, agreed that the road to peace lay with building a new international order — and an approach to international relations that questioned the Westphalian, sacrosanct principle of sovereignty — rooted in freedom, openness, prosperity and interdependence.

Lamy is quite blunt in stating national sovereignty is passe.

…more than half a century ago that the Frenchman Jean Monnet, one of the shapers of post-war Europe, said, “The sovereign nations of the past can no longer provide a framework for the resolution of our present problems. And the European Community itself is no more than a step towards the organizational forms of tomorrow’s world.” His assessment was as valid then as it is now….

The U.S. Is Not a Democracy, It Is an Oligarchy
    😡😡😡😡😡😡😡😡😡😡😡

“A study, to appear in the Fall 2014 issue of the academic journal Perspectives on Politics, finds that the U.S. is no democracy, but instead an oligarchy, meaning profoundly corrupt, so that the answer to the study’s opening question, “Who governs? Who really rules?” in this country, is:…”

The amazing 2014 study from Princeton University is linked to below. They point out that virtually the ONLY time that US voters actually get their way is when their desires coincide with those actually in control. … UNTIL TRUMP!!!

Testing Theories of American Politics: Elites, Interest Groups, and Average Citizens

    ABSTRACT:
Each of four theoretical traditions in the study of American politics—which can be characterized as theories of Majoritarian Electoral Democracy, Economic-Elite Domination, and two types of interest-group pluralism, Majoritarian Pluralism and Biased Pluralism—offers different predictions about which sets of actors have how much influence over public policy: average citizens; economic elites; and organized interest groups, mass-based or business-oriented.

A great deal of empirical research speaks to the policy influence of one or another set of actors, but until recently it has not been possible to test these contrasting theoretical predictions against each other within a single statistical model. We report on an effort to do so, using a unique data set that includes measures of the key variables for 1,779 policy issues.

Multivariate analysis indicates that economic elites and organized groups representing business interests have substantial independent impacts on U.S. government policy, while average citizens and mass-based interest groups have little or no independent influence. The results provide substantial support for theories of Economic-Elite Domination and for theories of Biased Pluralism, but not for theories of Majoritarian Electoral Democracy or Majoritarian Pluralism.

Remember the US Supreme Court ruled corporations are ‘Persons’ and can contribute to campaign funding. Add in the UNLIMITED FUNDING of PACs and you have our elections controlled by the big corporations and the wealthy elite.
