Dear KMAG: 20190804 Open Topic

This very special
You’ve Got to Know SUNDAY
open thread

is VERY OPEN – a place for everybody
to post whatever they feel they would like
to tell the White Hats, and the rest of the KAG!KMAG world.

Say what you want, comment on what other people said,
comment on people’s comments.
Keep it civil.  Treehouse rules, but expect lots of QAnon.

See the January 1st daily thread for the rules of the road,
which are few but important.

Remember – your greatest gift to President Trump is FIVE WORDS:

Donald Trump Holds Campaign Rally In Anaheim, CA

You’ve Got To “Know When” Sunday

In researching for the prayer post earlier this week, I came across the following story of a family returning to their home town in Iraq after ISIS was finally driven out. It is told from the perspective of the young daughter and includes video of earlier interviews from the time when her family was in exile in Egypt.

This is a beautiful story of resilience anchored in hope.

Assessing Situations

The lyrics from Kenny Rogers song, The Gambler, succinctly sum up the necessary task of discerning the right response to a high stakes environment. If you judge the situation correctly you can sometimes take in big winnings, just stay in the game for future wins, move on or live another day.

Jesus’ Parable About Investment

Jesus often taught principles of the Kingdom of Heaven using stories (parables). In the following parable, Jesus is gently directing his disciples attention away from their expectation of God’s immediate judgment coming to earth, wiping out their enemies, and the restoration of Paradise for the righteous among them.

As you read through it, consider your own expectations. What you expect from God. From the White Hats. And, most important of all, what do you expect from yourself?

11 While he had their attention, and because they were getting close to Jerusalem by this time and expectation was building that God’s kingdom would appear any minute, he told this story:

12-13 “There was once a man descended from a royal house who needed to make a long trip back to headquarters to get authorization for his rule and then return. But first he called ten servants together, gave them each a sum of money, and instructed them, ‘Operate with this until I return.’

14 But the citizens there hated him. So they sent a commission with a signed petition to oppose his rule: ‘We don’t want this man to rule us.’

15 “When he came back bringing the authorization of his rule, he called those ten servants to whom he had given the money to find out how they had done.

16 “The first said, ‘Master, I doubled your money.’

17 “He said, ‘Good servant! Great work! Because you’ve been trustworthy in this small job, I’m making you governor of ten towns.

18 “The second said, ‘Master, I made a fifty percent profit on your money.’

19 “He said, ‘I’m putting you in charge of five towns.’

20-21 “The next servant said, ‘Master, here’s your money safe and sound. I kept it hidden in the cellar. To tell you the truth, I was a little afraid. I know you have high standards and hate sloppiness, and don’t suffer fools gladly.’

22-23 “He said, ‘You’re right that I don’t suffer fools gladly—and you’ve acted the fool! Why didn’t you at least invest the money in securities so I would have gotten a little interest on it?’

24 “Then he said to those standing there, ‘Take the money from him and give it to the servant who doubled my stake.’

25 “They said, ‘But Master, he already has double . . .’

26 “He said, ‘That’s what I mean: Risk your life and get more than you ever dreamed of. Play it safe and end up holding the bag.

Luke 19:11-26 The Message (MSG)

And so we come to the very heart of this exploration.

How do we assess the appropriate response when the place where we live is in outright rebellion to our Heavenly King and His ways?

Whether it’s Baltimore or Broward County, Cleveland or California, the right move for you and your family will require discernment. We can all agree that these places come with a higher level of toxicity than other places.

What is a Toxic Environment?

Chernobyl comes to mind. But did you know that plant and animal life around the reactor is stronger and more diverse than before the accident? From an Institute for Creation Research article just published this week (emphasis added):

“Interestingly, in addition to this innate resilience to radiation, some plants in the Chernobyl exclusion zone seem to be using extra mechanisms to protect their DNA, changing its chemistry to make it more resistant to damage, and turning on systems to repair it if this doesn’t work [added emphasis].” His observations coincide with research on the progeny of Arabidopsis plants from Chernobyl.

Several Russian scientists discovered that when exposed to high radiation there was a resistance to mutations through a more than 10-fold decreased frequency of extrachromosomal homologous recombination, major differences in the expression of genes controlling DNA-repair and for proteins removing dangerous free radicals, and a higher level of global genome methylation.

Other research on several bird species at Chernobyl found that they also have internal mechanisms for detecting free radical molecules that are a byproduct of radiation exposure and then up-regulate mechanisms for DNA repair.

Because all DNA damage was repaired more quickly, radiation-exposed birds surprisingly “may even obtain beneficial hormetic effects following an adaptive response.”

It is now obvious that creatures have innate mechanisms that enable them to self-adjust to a higher range of radiation than anticipated. The existence of these systems precedes radiation exposure—Chernobyl was a unique radiation producing event—as there has not been enough time for them to have developed due to evolutionary “tinkering” via “trial-and-error” struggles to survive.

… [T]he Institute for Creation Research has been promoting an organism-focused, design-based model of adaptation called Continuous Environmental Tracking (CET).

This model explains what organisms are doing when they adapt. The organism-focused arm of the framework hypothesizes that: organisms possess internal mechanisms that enable them to actively and continuously track environmental variables and respond by self-adjusting to changing environments—which results in their adaptation.

The other design-based arm assumes that these internal mechanisms utilize the same engineering principles that constrain how human-designed objects self-adjust to changes.

CET postulates that how organisms adapt is via innate systems with elements analogous to those within human-engineered tracking systems, namely: input sensors, internal logic mechanisms to select suitable responses, and actuators to execute responses. CET, therefore, expects that the creatures’ self-adjustments would be characterized as regulated, rapid, and targeted to specific challenges.

The Foolish Servant

In the parable above, the foolish servant was a complete failure at adaptation. Maybe he saw the rebellion fomenting and buried his master’s money in hopes of cashing in if the rebellion succeeded. Maybe he just was really afraid of loss and that’s why he hid it.

But look at the admonition of the King to this foolish servant, “Why didn’t you at least invest the money in securities so I would have gotten a little interest on it?

Apparently, Jesus wants his followers to understand that He rewards smart risk taking for potential gain and will be more pleased with someone gaining a little in a very safe investment rather than not investing what they have been given at all.

Risky Investments: Exhibit A

If there is anyone out there putting the gifts he has been given into good use, Scott Pressler certainly makes the list!

His work reminds me of a story that takes place during the settling of the “promised land” by the Israelites. Certain tribes wanted to settle on the east side of the Jordan river which had already been conquered. This would be allowed, but the stipulation was that they had to agree to send their fighting men to the west side to help take the whole of the land for their nation before they could enjoy the peace of their own territory.

Your wives, your children and your livestock may stay in the land that Moses gave you east of the Jordan, but all your fighting men, ready for battle, must cross over ahead of your fellow Israelites. You are to help them until the Lord gives them rest, as he has done for you, and until they too have taken possession of the land the Lord your God is giving them. After that, you may go back and occupy your own land, which Moses the servant of the Lord gave you east of the Jordan toward the sunrise.” Then they answered Joshua, “Whatever you have commanded us we will do, and wherever you send us we will go.”

Joshua 1:14-16

In Scott’s case, he is traveling around the country to invest his talents in whatever way benefits all patriotic Americans. He is fighting for us! May the Lord guide, protect and equip this young man for what lies ahead in his life.

Risky Investments: Exhibit B

Later in Israel’s history, their land was conquered and the people were carried away captive to Babylon. God gave their prophet, Jeremiah, instructions to help them know how to respond to this upheaval.

“This is what the Lord Almighty, the God of Israel, says to all those I carried into exile from Jerusalem to Babylon: Build houses and settle down; plant gardens and eat what they produce. Marry and have sons and daughters; find wives for your sons and give your daughters in marriage, so that they too may have sons and daughters. Increase in number there; do not decrease.”

Jeremiah 29:4-6

Jeremiah 29:7Now imagine the risk of following these instructions. What if the situation changes and you are able to return to your homeland quickly? What if the Babylonians decide to relocate you and all your work is for nothing? Quite the risky investment.

And yet, they are told to pour their sweat equity into building houses, growing food and making big families. They are to seek the welfare of the city where they have been placed–while remaining in captivity!

As it turned out, they were there for some 70 years. Those that heeded the words of the prophet would be coming out of captivity strong and prosperous.

Risky Investments: Exhibit C

In the case of the Iraqi Christian family returning to Qaraqosh (mentioned at the top of this article), they are returning to their hometown which has been bombed, looted, nearly destroyed–with about half of the original residents choosing to not return to rebuild. A different set of risks, but certainly made the choice to return and invest in the community they came from instead of seeking refuge in another, perhaps safer, place.

So back to that pesky question…

How do we assess the appropriate response when the place where we live is in outright rebellion to our Heavenly King and His ways?

I don’t think there is a simple answer.

It’s true that for some people there comes a point in time when they just know in their hearts it is time to leave. And for others it is just as clear that they are to stay and “pray to the Lord” on the behalf of the city God has placed them in.

Many will spend a long time working out what is right for them. But that is the journey and no one else can tell anyone what is the right path for another. I have deep respect for anyone that takes that journey. A journey of truly seeking God’s highest and best purpose for them no matter the cost.

May God grant us all discernment, wisdom, and peace in the process.

  1. While watching Fox & Friends this AM, in the middle of being stunned at the second mass shooting in 24 hrs I was slightly gratified to hear the commentators describe the weapon as a ‘long gun’. The Dayton mayor described it as a .223 rifle.

Something is weird is happening. I hope Beto is done. Lord help me but that guy makes me sick. All of these assholes who stand on warm dead bodies to pontificate should be forever booed whenever they crawl out from their dens.

  2. Okay, I read the manifesto from El Paso guy.
Second to last paragraph is a specific call to not blame Trump. His views were formed long before Trump came along. He says, no doubt the media will blame Trump, media is notorious for fake news, and their push in this direction will only confirm my suspicion.
Manifesto needs to be taken down and not spread.
    It’s dangerous and dehumanizing, IMHO.

There is a sickness in some young people who lost a sense of right and wrong that justifies in their mind to shoot at innocent people. They do not seem to comprehend that it is not a game . Some biogas are dangerous for some young people whose brain is not fully developed and their sense of empathy gets distorted.
There was a time one could dislike people and not act on it in a negative violent way. God is missing in these peoples life. As I was told “we take our children to church so they know the difference good from evil.”
God be with all the families of this senseless shooting .

My Brother made some comment ab thinking confiscation was in our future, and my Mother started laughing.
She said, Oh please, I so hope I’m still alive to see somebody try to take the guns from Idaho folks!
I sorta think the folks in Idaho are not alone with their attitude.

if the USA does not have enough LE to round up illegals immigrants, I don’t see exactly how they envision corralling gun owners.
I cannot see any method short of one-on-one being even close to effective.

The thing that bothers me most is that illegals are called immigrants that cheapens the legal immigrant states.

    3. This is a supporting factor in my James Comey theory, which I freely admit is a theory. Remember when he got canned, and his office was raided and there was a ton of evidence and information there? I really do think there is a possibility that he was one of The Plan people sent in behind enemy lines early, in his case to sit on evidence that would have been destroyed or otherwise tainted in some way.

      Liked by 2 people

      1. The trouble with these theories is that they turn everybody on our side into extremely long-running actors and liars, when all I have to do otherwise is come up with a similar theory where truth-tellers alone are telling the truth, and liars ALONE are liars.

I can even account for Comey keeping all that evidence – he was simply DOING A HILLARY, since hiding records is one of her primary techniques of influencing court cases and hearings.

So, feel free to argue for the “White Hat Comey” theory, but I just don’t find it compelling, personally. I can’t rule it out, but I just don’t find it compelling.

  7. The Spice That Prevents Fluoride From Destroying Your Brain

    August 4, 2019

The Facts:This article was written by Sayer Ji, Founder of where this article was originally published.

Reflect On:Fluoride is found everywhere today, from antibiotics to drinking water, no stick pans to toothpaste, making exposure inevitable. All the more reason why research proving Turmeric can prevent fluoride damage is so promising.

Fluoride’s neurotoxicity has been the subject of academic debate for decades, and now a matter of increasingly impassioned controversy among the general public, as well. From ‘conspiracy theories’ about it being first used in drinking water in Russian and Nazi concentration camps to chemically lobotomize captives, to its now well-known IQ lowering properties, to its ability to enhance the calcification of the pineal gland — the traditional ‘seat of the soul’ — many around the world, and increasingly in the heavily fluoridated regions of the United States, are starting to organize at the local and statewide level to oust this ubiquitous toxicant from municipal drinking water.

if my MD has me on blood thinners it’s usually for a specific reason, such as post surgery/stenting.
That’s my case…So I was cautioned ab fiddling around with curcumin, even though it has some effects I desire.
if my MD put me on blood thinners, I would hesitate to override that Rx with self-medication…it may put me in danger.

if you are seeing a trusted Naturopath, they may have some insight into the relationship between curcumin and, say, Plavix, but I wouldn’t want to go it alone.

          1. Vaccines are chemicals – chemicals cause interactions in a young brain that not only lead to nerve damage, but trauma and developmental problems – they are poisons – search the ingredients in vaccines – and the increased number of vaccinations required – in a forming human being – they are dangerous compounds that cause more than just autism – natural immunity is the only way to protect all children from psychological, neurological, and physiological damage – imho – why did children who were vaccinated get measles – and not those who were unvaccinated – our grandparents survived without them.

  8. Google’s File on You is 10 Times Bigger Than Facebook’s — Here’s How to View It

    August 4, 2019
    from Government Slaves

With all the attention paid to Facebook in recent weeks over ‘data breaches’ and privacy violations (even though what happened with Cambridge Analytica is part of their standard business model), it’s easy to forget that there are four other Big Tech corporations collecting just as much — if not more — of our personal info. Google, Amazon, Apple, and Microsoft are all central players in “surveillance capitalism” and prey on our data. New reports suggest that Google may actually harvest ten times as much as Facebook.

Curious about just how much of his data Google had, web developer Dylan Curran says he downloaded his Google data file, which is offered by the company in a hub called “My Account.” This hub was created in 2015, along with a tool called “My Activity.” The report issued is similar to the one Facebook delivers to its users upon request. Whether or not these reports are comprehensive is still up in the air, but Curran says his was 5.5 GB, which is almost ten times larger than the one Facebook offered him. The amount and type of data in his file, Mr. Curran says, suggests Google is not only constantly tracking our online movements but may also be monitoring our physical locations.

    1. Download Google Data.
      Login here:
Or go to “My Account” and select “Data and Personalization”
Scroll down to “Download, delete, or make a plan for your data”
Three options: “Download my Data”, “Make a Plan for your account”, “Delete a service or your account”
If you select “Download my Data” there is a 3 step process: Select your data, select archive format, and select size of the data archives.
Preparing the data for download will probably take anywhere from a couple of hours to possibly days depending on the volume of data.

He believes that climate change will destroy us(it won’t), he believes in the evil corporations( they aren’t), he believes that his way of life is doomed(it isn’t). When you surround yourself with doom and gloom until all you see is doom and gloom, your mental state frays.

I just picked up on the part about POTUS’ mentioning “bleachbit” and destruction of Hillary’s emails – who did it? Now it makes sense that POTUS has known for some time that the FBI was involved in the destruction of evidence. Her IT people would have actually been afraid to do it – felonious and all that.

  10. I didn’t know Laura was running for Congress. I know nothing about the district but hope she has a shot at winning. Can you imagine her on the floor? 👍😆

        1. There seems to be some discrepancy on whether or not he was arrested, too – posted as much as I could find – so we could do a comparison – hope that helps, driller.

Goes along with pushing down stairways, pushing in front of trains, and separating head and shoulders…

      1. When are people going to learn? Maybe if we could all just out virtue signal each other, run around screaming LOVE TRUMPS HATE!!!, put down anyone who doesn’t agree with #trumpterrorism or #massacremitch and rail against white nationalists causing all the problems in the world then maybe, just maybe we can find utopia and everyone will get along and jihadists won’t have to jihad anymore and everything will be rainbows and unicorns. It’s just gotta come true 🧚‍♀️🦄💕🌺🌄🌈🧚‍♂️

    1. Dang if that guy doesn’t have seriously high cheekbones. Somebody should check Fauxcohontus’ DNA for Chinese cheekbone genes. Sure would explain her commie thinking, no?

Thank you, pgroup. I appreciate your concern. I got oral meds to take and took them about a half hour ago. I will check my BP in an hour and a half and if it hasn’t lowered a good bit, I’m off to the ER. Nothing like the ER on a Friday night……I am more concerned than I have let on, so I won’t screw around. Thanks!

Hi pgroup…..If you would let people know I’m doing okay? I did end up going to the ER last night after all as the BP just wasn’t going down. They did tests and more medication…..determined they did not need to admit me for more tests but I have a pretty strict regiment to follow…MORE BED REST! Thanks a lot for your concern. I’m glad I went, after all….

  14. #MassacreMitch is the top trend on Twitter right now. The people pushing this garbage know darn well that sounds more like an assassination command than a mean nickname. It wouldn’t surprise if the real reason Senator McConnell is working from home is because of credible security threats. The Democrats and media have really ramped up the rhetoric against him over the past week because they know complaining about the President gets them nowhere.

      1. The CC and open carry people were probably outside because those venues were “gun-free” zones.

As opposed to Hølder’s “Fast and Furious” free-gun zones… which are still coming back to haunt us…..

    1. You can’t make this shit up!

“I just want to say, can we please keep the chatter to the minimum? I’m one of the people who’s very, very prone to sensory overload,” Jackson said. Several other delegates could be seen waving “Jazz hands” in the air, instead of applauding, as he spoke. (Jazz hands are considered less “triggering” to those sensitive to loud sounds.)

“There’s a lot of whispering and chattering going on. It’s making it very difficult for me to focus. Please, I know we’re all fresh and ready to go, but can we please just keep the chatter to a minimum? It’s affecting my ability to focus.”

“Thank you, comrade,” the chair responded.

But the situation would not end so easily for the approximately 1,500 socialists gathered at the convention.

Within seconds, the individual who had appeared irritated by Jackson’s words stumbled toward the microphone to yell, “Point of personal privilege! Point of personal privilege!”

      “Yes?” the chair asked.

“Please do not use gendered language to address everyone!”

“OK,” the chair said, seemingly flustered.

Jackson, however, would soon come back for another round.

“Quick point of privilege ONCE again!” Jackson said later in the day, before reciting rotely, “Hi, James Jackson, Sacramento DSA, he/him.”

“I have ALREADY asked people to be mindful of the chatter of their comrades who are sensitive to sensory overload,” Jackson said. “And that goes DOUBLE for the heckling and the hissing. It is also triggering to my anxiety. Like, being comradely isn’t just for like, keeping things civil or whatever. It’s so people aren’t going to get triggered, and so that it doesn’t affect their performance as a delegate.”

      1. DAMNED BA$TARD.

My son has a 90+ percent hearing loss and HE’D love to be able to hear applause or “noise”…

Sensory overload, my hiney. If you go to a group meeting YOU WILL HAVE SENSORY OVERLOAD. In the world of big-D/little-D deaf it’s called hyperacusis, which is often accompanied by “recruitment”. Folks in that world learn what they can and cannot do. That’s why high-end hearing aids cost $7000.00 a pair, as they have DSPs and circuitry to mitigate this. Easier solution (when possible) is to stay away from large gatherings, e.g. baseball, football, soccer games or rock concerts.

This twit should have known that.

        1. I know a little something about Sensory Processing Disorder (SPD) and the issues that go with it…

BUT DANG DUDE. The world can’t conform to you. You’re at a HUGE CONFERENCE, what do you THINK it is going to be like?

It’s not like any one of those socialists give a rip about you and your sensory needs. I know you’re deluded into thinking they care and are more sensitive, but let me assure you that they are NOT.

P.S. Being a person with SPS/SPD or an HSP does not make you more empathetic or more liberal. It just makes you SPS/SPD and a leftist idiot. I’m sorry if you find the truth triggering.

        2. His limitations have now become a shared limitation within the group. Those with “sensory defensiveness” truly do suffer and often become shut-ins. But the way this is being done is about the minority dominating the majority–and not in a healthy way.

Here’s a different example. If someone has multiple chemical sensitivity (MCS) and they want to be part of the church choir, then every one has to avoid perfumes in order to keep that one choir member from suffering a closed airway or worse.

This is something that has to be worked out within the group or by the director of the choir. But someone is going to have to accommodate somebody else.

Another example. In the military the policy is that pin-up calendars are forbidden as they might create a hostile work environment.

      1. Yep. Like this one,
“Hi I’m Bozo He/Him/Zi/Zen and She/Her on alternate Tuesday’s. I want to warn my comrades to not break wind as that’s also overloading my senses and I think my comrade on my right ate too many Avacado Tacos last night”…

Those people are pathetic. And by feigning issues, they are hurting people who actually DO have issues. But the truth is unplowed ground for them…

Misusing the doors….? Does that mean going in the wrong bathroom???

          I couldn’t be a socialist if I wanted to be…too many rules😳

    1. That is a beautiful picture, Crossthread.

Looks a lot like the large double spring-fed lime sink pond where I grew up and swam every summer!

There were lots of bass, bream and speckled perch in that pond….and gators of course!
