News Roundup! Yellow Vests, Approval Rating, Aid, 2nd Ammendment, Fed Decision, Creepy Joe, Navy Seal…….

Yesterday GA/FL shared the following tweet from our President.

Our President is absolutely right! They scared Americans into believing that they were trying to save us from a recession. Keep in mind that 70% of real GDP comes from consumer spending. If you think a recession is around the corner, you are less likely to spend on luxuries.

Look at the reason why the 4th Quarter real GDP rate was revised downward.

From the article linked above:

Growth in consumer spending, which accounts for more than two-thirds of U.S. economic activity, increased at a 2.5 percent rate in the fourth quarter instead of the previously reported 2.8 percent pace. Consumer spending remains underpinned by a strong labor market.

Keep in mind that the Rasmussen Poll is a rolling 3 day average. Look what happened throughout the week. AG Barr dropped his summary on Sunday.

Our President only got 29% of the Hispanic vote in 2016. Things have changed in two and a half years.

From the article linked above:

As President Trump doubles down on his pledge to build a southern border wall, Hispanics are showing broad support for him, according to a new survey.

Some 50 percent of Hispanics approve of the president’s job, according to the latest McLaughlin & Associates poll of likely general election voters.

You can find the entire poll below.

Click to access National-MA-Monthly-Omnibus-March-Release.pdf

  • Black Approval at 16% (only 8% voted for our President in 2016)
  • The Republican Party has regained its edge over Democrats in the generic congressional ballot (47% to 43%)
  • Overall Approval 49%

The State of California got rebuffed in their push to minimize the 2nd Ammendment.

From the article linked above:

High-capacity gun magazines will remain legal in California under a ruling Friday by a federal judge who cited home invasions where a woman used the extra bullets in her weapon to kill an attacker while in two other cases women without additional ammunition ran out of bullets.

“Individual liberty and freedom are not outmoded concepts,” San Diego-based U.S. District Judge Roger Benitez wrote as he declared unconstitutional the law that would have banned possessing any magazines holding more than 10 bullets.

California law has prohibited buying or selling such magazines since 2000, but those who had them before then were allowed to keep them.

We’re still digesting the opinion but it appears to us that he stuck down both the latest ban on possessing by those who are grandfathered in, but also said that everyone has a right to acquire one,” Michel said.

These decisions are a killer for the Left because they can’t run to the Circuit Court knowing if the District Court is overturned, the Supreme Court will weigh in causing their decision to become the law of the land.

The Yellow Vests are out protesting again for the 20th consecutive weekend. There is no end on the horizon. One of two things will bring it to an end. Macron’s head or resignation.

If they thought our President was bluffing, they realized yesterday that he will do everything needed to protect our Southern Border.

From the article linked above:

In a stunning about-face, State Department officials said that President Donald Trump is cutting off all direct assistance to the so-called Northern Triangle countries of El Salvador, Honduras and Guatemala.

“At the Secretary’s instruction, we are carrying out the President’s direction and ending FY [fiscal year] 2017 and FY 2018 foreign assistance programs for the Northern Triangle,” a State Department spokesperson told ABC News, referring to U.S. Secretary of State Mike Pompeo. “We will be engaging Congress as part of this process.”

By next Friday, the entire BOARDER will be closed. This was to show AMLO that our President is a man of his words.

Creepy Joe doesn’t seem to be the chosen one even though he has the best polling out of all the Democrats so far.

Our President will destroy a Kamala/Beto or Bernie/Whoever ticket.

Thank You 🙏 President Trump for making this happen! Eddie Gallagher is an American Hero!

  1. Love it! That 2A victory is HUGE. ❤

    2A RANT follows…..

The CORE of the Second Amendment is the right of the INDIVIDUAL to possess light infantry (militia) arms both for SELF-DEFENSE and for DEFENSE OF FREEDOM in the event that a tyranny arises.

The Second Amendment is also POWERFUL in the POWER OF UNFIRED GUNS (see MAO). MAO took all the guns to give THE PARTY POWER. Here, the PEOPLE retain power by retaining ARMS that CHANGE POLITICS. In many ways, American constitutional democracy is TRUE SOCIALISM, and theirs is FAKE SOCIALISM, which CHEATS THE PEOPLE.

The military-matching purpose of the Second Amendment is demonstrated by the fact that criminals IN REALITY will obtain arms, and that the LAW-ABIDING INDIVIDUAL has the right to be similarly armed, at a minimal reasonable level. It is also demonstrated by the fact that the SECOND AMENDMENT has protected the SPIRIT of the THIRD, FOURTH and higher amendments, in that police and military cannot obtain DE FACTO arbitrary searches, quartering in homes (SEE CHINESE HAN QUARTERING RIGHT NOW IN UIGHUR HOMES), or other intrusions on liberty.

Sorry, COMMUNISTS – we'll be keeping our BEAUTIFUL SECOND AMENDMENT, because we are the REAL Power To The People system – NOT YOUR FAKE SOCIALIST ELITISM that gives ONE PARTY POWER OVER ALL THE PEOPLE.

    1. Wolfie — It should be obvious by now that part of the attack on the 2nd Amendment is an attack on masculinity.
There was a time in this country when boys, as they developed into men, would seek to become masculine. Thus, they would seek to be good providers, to care for things entrusted to them (including maintaining and repairing the machines they used and depended upon) and part of this meant learning to fish and to hunt. Moreover, there was historically an expectation in the US that its citizens would be prepared to take up arms to defend our country. Thus, there were several reasons to learn to shoot well: to defend yourself, to defend those near and dear to you, to provide food and to defend our nation. Our culture and our educational system have undermined these notions, but I think they are worth reviving.

Teddy Roosevelt, in 1883, said the following in a speech entitled “Duties of American Citizenship”:

Of course, in one sense, the first essential for a man’s being a good citizen is his possession of the home virtues of which we think when we call a man by the emphatic adjective of manly. No man can be a good citizen who is not a good husband and a good father, who is not honest in his dealings with other men and women, faithful to his friends and fearless in the presence of his foes, who has not got a sound heart, a sound mind, and a sound body; exactly as no amount of attention to civil duties will save a nation if the domestic life is undermined, or there is lack of the rude military virtues which alone can assure a country’s position in the world. In a free republic the ideal citizen must be one willing and able to take arms for the defense of the flag, exactly as the ideal citizen must be the father of many healthy children. A race must be strong and vigorous; it must be a race of good fighters and good breeders, else its wisdom will come to naught and its virtue be ineffective; and no sweetness and delicacy, no love for and appreciation of beauty in art or literature, no capacity for building up material prosperity can possibly atone for the lack of the great virile virtues.

        Exactly right AFortiori.
As a kid growing up in the 1950’s it was a daydream of me and many to hunt and fish for my family for their existents and living in peace in this beautiful country.

        1. You and me, brother. Guess the ‘flakes today would horrified to learn that at least twice a year all of us kids would bring our guns to elementary school and show them off to our friends and teachers. Our principal would bring his and we could all compare. Keep in mind that our teachers were mainly the wives of WWII vets and came up in an age before WWII. The men engaged in our school from the principal to the janitor were all WWII vets. No one ever saw a problem with any of this activity.

          Just sayin’ … 😉

      3. Yeah. And now, they get “bicycles” at 2, and continue to get them as they grow, and get new ones when they 1) leave the one they have outdoors to a) rust b) be stolen. Some of us received one or two in our “dependent” lifetimes, and they were treasured! And cared for!

They are given personal computers when they are [8? 6? younger?] and are indulged with the latest and greatest upgraded ones every couple of years. [Ohhhh, but they NEED to learn to use them, blah, blah, blah….] But no one ever thinks to TEACH them how to maintain and CLEAN those machines…..

They are careless and something breaks? They get another one.

They want money? (Read: want to be independent of parental oversight/control) They are “hired” by family at minimum wage to do the chores/needed work that in past generations were simply part of living in a family (including extended family) and enjoying the benefits of that family.

They are allowed to use an automobile or are given one to use (because SOME parent is too self-interested or lazy to ferry offspring to events, etc.) but do not have to earn the $$ to 1) pay the added insurance 2) earn the $$ to pay gas, oil, maintenance…and then not held accountable when they damage the auto they have the use of or have been given.

You got me in a sore spot. End of rant. 🙂

  5. This comment about the Fed bears more discussion. It is apparent to me that part of the plan to drive PDJT from office was to tank the economy. There is a huge voting block in this country that will vote a president from office if the economy is not doing well.

I suspect some of the meetings PDJT had with business leaders very early in his presidency assisted with this. To be specific, I think PDJT gave business leaders something they have long wanted in tax reform — specifically moving our system to territoriality and away from taxing the profits of US companies earned overseas — in exchange for an understanding that business hiring and investment would be robust. But however he managed this, it is remarkable that PDJT managed to convince the Fed to back away from this plan.

    1. Just the basic fact that the Fed did not raise interest rates once during BHO’s 8 fricking years and continued with the quantitative easing tells me all I need to know.

Any economist worth a grain of salt, knows full well that Obama knew nothing about economics and or how to create jobs, hell he was a community organizer for crying out load; he couldn’t run a lemonade stand…but the fed did everything in their power to prop that SOB up just like the DOJ/FBI did for Clinton.

        1. It is market manipulation of the highest order, which they pushed so they could continue to deficit spend while tax revenues were tanking. Think about which politicians absolutely insisted that it was the only way out during that period. Bankruptcy laws exist for a reason, but no need to worry the fed will bail your cabal operated industry out. PDT and supporters are solving the issues one by one and quite frankly, it has been brilliant so far. It will take 10-15 years to completely undo the damage, but governance and mechanisms for long term sustaining economy will be in place. The ultimate key – taking absolute lock down control of the SC. The leftists use the judiciary to do their dirty work when they are out of power.

  7. A word of caution….

I have been following Navy SEAL Chief Eddie Gallagher‘s ordeal. I don’t know if anyone else has as well. And, while we all hope and pray the charges and accusations against him are false, well…

They are quite serious, and they also extend into his chain of command. The problem here is that there is at least one other Navy SEAL, an officer, who is providing prosecution testimony with very specific details, dates, and background information….a man who was directly involved in theatre with the personnel being charged.

This is very, very serious stuff that is being alleged….a cover up of war crimes…..WAY worse than the crime itself.

Here is the latest from the Navy Times…very ominous news….

War crimes case expands to SEAL Team 6

    (selected quotes):

“When he goes to court, however, Gallager won’t be defended by Vokey, a highly respected attorney with special expertise defending personnel charged with war crimes.

He filed paperwork with the military court in San Diego to withdraw from the case in early March.

Reached by Navy Times, Vokey declined comment.”

Hopefully this is not a bad sign but simply due what Gallager’s other atty said was “scheduling conflicts”.

There’s more from another article dated in Oct of last year…..

“Although he wasn’t present during the alleged homicide near the Iraqi city of Mosul in 2017, Lt. Jacob “Jake” Portier faces an upcoming Article 32 hearing for what authorities say was his help in covering up a string of war crimes committed by an enlisted SEAL leader, Chief Special Warfare Operator Edward “Eddie” Gallagher.

The latest arrest highlights what multiple attorneys, senior military commanders in the Navy and special warfare units have whispered to Navy Times: the ongoing Naval Criminal Investigative Service probe isn’t focused solely on Gallagher.

It targets more than a dozen SEALs who also deployed between 2017 and early 2018 to Iraq, plus the senior enlisted and commissioned leaders in Naval Special Warfare Group 1 who handled allegations of war crimes as they percolated up the chain of command.”

The above all said I hope President Trump has details that make him comfortable in tweeting out his apparent support for Gallager in this case. Navy SEALs are:

    1) EXTREMELY valuable to today’s war fighting missions and asymmetric warfare
    2) necessarily given wide latitude and anonymity in the performance of their mission(s)

Anything that would jeopardize either of these things is of grave concern, and this is just the kind of thing that could do it.

If guilty, it is also a grave betrayal of the SEAL creed…

Were it not for a fellow SEAL…and an officer at that….providing prosecutorial witness against Gallager I would have my doubts as to the veracity of the charges made against him. But this officer states that over a long period of time he saw inappropriate attitudes and mentality is demonstrated by Gallagher that he repeatedly brought to commands attention. Over and over again, he expressed his concern about the state of Gallaghers mind and his fitness for duty. And then this happened. And the officer was not surprised. And then, according to this officer, a subsequent cover-up of the murder was attempted.

This is very, very grave stuff. If you know anything about the SEALs, for this officer to be providing this kind of testimony is whistleblower stuff……he would NEVER lie about it if it wasn’t true.

While we must presume the innocence of those charged, this is NOT a case of liberals going after our warriors. This is a warrior being accused by one of his fellow warriors, and an officer at that.

    Let the reader understand.

    1. A few thoughts.

Have not followed Gallagher case. Will start doing so. Personal interest now.

Me. Retired Navy. Enlisted and Officer. 22 years Active. Love the Navy. incredibly proud of my service.

Viewed then and now, the Navy Times tabloid quality paper…spouts “company line” as if it were Gospel. Nothing investigative about Navy Times. They print what is handed to them…by Navy brass!

Whenever I see someone placed in solitary confinement, (military or civilian), my suspicions go up, in favor of the accused.

Navy brass can be and too commonly are as screwed up. Yes, more so than Feds in general.
      – Have seen too much “over the top” military prosecutions.
      – Some prosecutions are blatantly wrong. Punishment extreme.
      – McStain surely got away with a lot. As an example.
      – Navy JAGs have zero common sense.

Greatest respect for SEALS. Greatest fighting force in this world. Unconventional, is an understatement. And they do this with zero Geneva Convention coverage. On their own, so to speak.

Saw President Trump’s tweet. Probably here on WQTH. (Personally don’t do twitter, fb…)

I believe President Trump has had someone give him some details…that are not the Navy official position. (I know, duh!) Got his attention.
      – The last folks I’d ask for back ground on Gallagher’s case are Secretary of The Navy, CNO, Navy Times…

At this point my money is on Galagher. If I find something enlightening, I’ll share it. Whatever is going on, it’ll be behind the curtain as much as the Navy can keep it there.
      – The Navy, all Services for that matter, never, ever, like to admit mistakes. They’ll double down to the point of stupidity. Especially, if senior brass in Chain of Command made the mistake. Absolute masters of the cover up.

As I said, I sure hope these accusations are 100% false. Far, far better for NCIS to get a black eye in this matter than for the charges to be true. And I suspect you are right, that POTUS knows things we don’t. It would be uncommon for him to slip up like that, for a certainty.

That’s a BAD argument and it angers me to no end.

We don’t need to JUSTIFY our reasons for keeping and bearing arms you sons of &^%#es!

It doesn’t matter if nobody EVER had a home invasion. It doesn’t matter if she had anyplace to carry an extra magazine. NONE of that is any more relevant than it would be to her right to FREEDOM of SPEECH, which is ALSO guaranteed by the exact same CONSTITUTION — and she doesn’t need to JUSTIFY her reasons for SPEAKING either!

The 2nd Amendment is NOT for self-defense (although that’s a NIFTY side benefit).

The 2nd Amendment is NOT for hunting (although that’s a perfectly good reason to use a gun).

The 2nd Amendment is to give the American People the CAPACITY to overthrow a TYRANNICAL government… the exact same kind of people who keep trying to VIOLATE our RIGHTS by INFRINGING on a 2nd Amendment that plainly says SHALL NOT BE INFRINGED.

It’s NOT GOOD ENOUGH to sit there and play DEFENSE against these tyrants, letting them attack our rights over and over and over again until they win.

We need some kind of LAW allowing Americans to SUE these mother*&^%$#@s into OBLIVION if they ever even TRY to pass a law that violates our RIGHTS.

    STOP the *^*&*^&*ing MADNESS!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

    1. We need some kind of LAW allowing Americans to SUE these mother*&^%$#@s into OBLIVION if they ever even TRY to pass a law that violates our RIGHTS.

As it stands right now, you cannot sue without “standing” and you can’t get that unless you have ALREADY been harmed by an unconstitutional law. In other words, you have to have been convicted of violating it, before you can sue to overturn it.

That rule could stand to be loosed, a tad.

  9. I often see the phrase: “… 70% of GDP comes from consumer spending”.

    How can this be sustainable?

To consume something you need to have produced i.e. earned something. Thus production is the vital ingredient for consumption. If you borrow, instead of save, to consume, you can either produce more or you need to consume less to pay back that loan. That means your further consumption is either less or the same in the case for higher production.

Why is this not reflected in the GDP number?

Consumption is an effect and not an cause of growth in the economy. It is however a necessary component for the feedback mechanism, whether a product line is viable to continue.
