Dear MAGA: 20190215 Open Topic

[NOTE:  As of 19:45 Mountain Time, the status is uncertain; some indications are that PDJT will sign the bill, others that he will wait and review.  I wrote this a couple of days ago when I was feeling optimistic, and I had too much fun with it to waste it so long as there’s a shred of hope.]

The deadline approacheth.

It comes!  Can you hear it?  Yes, it’s…

Well, does the name “Pavlov” ring a bell?

Now for the disclaimers

You can say what you want, comment on what other people said, and so on. Keep it civil. Rules much like the Old Treehouse, except of course Q discussion is not only allowed but encouraged. A couple of other important things to consider. This here link….

….contains some general guidelines for things that are really, really not kosher to post here.

Also consider the other four rules (ratified by WolfMoon):

  1. No food fights.
  2. No running with scissors.
  3. If you bring snacks, bring enough for everyone.
  4. No shooting at the nuclear warheads.

Remember – this is a free speech zone. Barring the few minor things that can get this site closed down, you ain’t gonna get banned.

And once the Gab commenting layer is here – BOOM.

The current plan for Dear MAGA threads is to switch to a format where people have ONE NIGHT A WEEK that they take care of the thread. For example, Wheatie will put up the SATURDAY thread on FRIDAY NIGHT.

  • Monday – Wolf
  • Tuesday – Wolf
  • Wednesday – Wolf
  • Thursday – Wolf
  • Friday – Wolf (but today, Yours Truly)
  • Saturday – Wheatie
  • Sunday – ThinkThinkThink

If anybody else would be interested in being a Dear MAGA author one night a week, feel free to let me know.

I know of my own personal knowledge that the last shutdown was an extreme hardship on some of the very good people working for Customs and Border Protection, so please keep them in your thoughts.

        1. If memory serves…didn’t Barney Franks used to put all of his young boyfriends and male prostitutes on his payroll? It’s common practice in both parties…and especially on the left.

    1. Do you realize how much hate fills those people’s lives? Incredible misery. Must be awful to be them – despite all their riches (ill-gotten gains) they spend their time loathing people who are happy and positive, and happen to love their country.

Think about it. Democrats are people who live with no anchor, no moral compass and their facial expressions reveal how incompatible their world is with the one the rest of us live with reasonable joy.

I just get the biggest kick out of our POTUS!! Not only was he MASTER TROLLING but was sending US a message–Everybody Cries! HA! And letting us know–in spite of the garbage bill–He’s got this!! Humor is intact!!

        1. I know! Master trolling indeed! He had no problem thinking to himself, “hmmm, how about reminding them all I’m President, and I’ll let the people know I’ve got this?”

      2. The hate fills those people’s lives (DEMONcRATs and RINOs) because it is the Hate from their Master, Satan, the father of lies, whose hate for GOD and all of HIS CREATION knows (almost) no bounds.

The Devil cannot create; he can only destroy, accuse, and lie. And that is exactly what the DEMONcRATs do. Day and Night, Year after Year.

Their day of reckoning will soon come; and a lot sooner than most of them think or fear. GOD is watching. And NOT from a distance, as that stupid song goes…

      3. Thomas Wictor just had a thread about this craziness

The Democratic nominee of 2020 will run on a platform of straight Stalinism mixed in with New Age open-borders smarminess and rage.

In other words, the nominee will be spouting the ravings of a schizophrenic.

Because the Democratic nominee must bow at the alters of both totalitarianism and anarchy, the person will be unable to answer Trump’s questions.

        It’s going to be GREAT.

My speculation yesterday has proven correct. PDJT just checkmated Pelosi, Schumer, and the Dems for 2020. Stupid Beto even said tear down existing wall. The chess gambit had 4 moves:

    1. Very visible oval office owning of shutdown due to border security crisis. Dems refuse to negotiate.
    2. Reopen for 3 weeks, Dems deliver a pathetic restricted bill. But does provide some funding for Rio Grande sector. All the restrictions expire in September.
    3. Declare ‘National emergency …and other executive means’. Expects Dems to challenge 10USC2808 in 9th. That is a double dare to expose their resolute open borders no matter what stance. PDJT expects to win at SCOTUS much closer to election.
    4. Meanwhile, ‘other executive means’ is 10USC284, which has nothing to do with the national emergency. And he has $8 billion to fund it. Wall done before election.

And the beautiful part is DACA is still in play at SCOTUS. PDJT knows it will be killed there. The outcry will be leverage to provide some limited DACA path to citizenship in return for the sorely needed immigration law overhaul.

By and large, not all. Ristvan came here briefly, then returned OT. He appears to be patiently pointing out the positive interpretations …

Now that my feelings have moved on, I’m able to look at it as simply another site to check in now and then. I guess it was letting go and not being emotionally invested anymore. It’s all good now.

Sarah says NOTHING about his signing “the Bill”…

and I find no evidence he has elsewhere (online)

POTUS has until 9:00 a.m. Tuesday are gov’t goes into Shutdown… unless he exercises other Executive Powers under the Declaration (which I am sure will not be shouted out to us or to the CABAL)

    1. via Bloomberg

Former acting U.S. Attorney General Matthew Whitaker will remain at the Justice Department at least for the short term as a senior counselor, according to department spokeswoman Kerri Kupec.

Whitaker was given the new assignment after the Senate voted Thursday to confirm William Barr as attorney general. Trump had installed Whitaker as acting attorney general in November, after forcing out Jeff Sessions.

Whitaker’s assignment is temporary for the time being and he reports to Jesse Panuccio, who is principal deputy associate attorney general, Kupec said.

With Barr’s arrival, Deputy Attorney General Rod Rosenstein is expected to leave the department within weeks.

Anybody else struck by FOR NOW and RR expected to leave….

Guess you can’t make Whitaker Deputy AG until the position is vacated…

Am I just having a fantasy here?

    1. TOWNHALL can take a flyin’ Leap…

      the article sucks… really sucks.

Perhaps Trump Supporters are now seeing how LITTLE support this president has had from the Republican Party.

Establishment GOP – which covers 95% of Conservative media… as well as most of Congress…

President Trump is not a Republican, he is first and foremost an AMERICAN… and most of America supports him. Their voices are being suppressed by the CABAL…

The rubber is hitting the road…

POTUS has to balance the market reaction, info to Americans, countering disinformation, as well as BLACK OPS from the CABAL.

I repeat… Q has said THE WALL IS ABOUT MORE THAN WE KNOW…

Perhaps it is literally about putting up defense against the Cabal, draining the swamp, cutting off bulk of their money and votes of DIMs

    1. It doesn’t actually mention building a wall specifically.

It grants authority to do what’s necessary to secure the border, which of course could (and does) include the wall.

      1. The Declaration refers to other memorandum also:

… ” In response to the directive in my April 4, 2018, memorandum and subsequent requests for support by the Secretary of Homeland Security, the Department of Defense has provided support and resources to the Department of Homeland Security at the southern border. “

and invokes “section 12302 of title 10, United States Code”

as well as invokes “the construction authorityprovided in section 2808 of title 10, United States Code,”

This memorandum declares the authority for doing what has been called for in other directives and memorandums (which include building the wall)

One would have to pull his directive of April 4, 2018— see Sec. 3

“Within 30 days of the date of this memorandum, the Secretary of Defense and the Secretary of Homeland Security, in coordination with the Attorney General, shall submit to the President a report detailing their findings and an action plan, including specific recommendations as to any other executive authorities that should be invoked to defend the border and security of the United States.”

Then one would have to access the requested report (from above) that was submitted by the 3 Depts as well as any other memorandums relating to the Wall

The report is probably not privy to public…

Memorandum often have attachments that are not made public.

POTUS has directed that Sec of Defense is in charge of security of Southern Border. There are countless communications regarding actual construction related to his Memorandums, I am sure.

LP, Sundance put up a separate post on this and I commented there. Have also commented previously. PDJT will win this expedited cert for a couple of reasons:
    1. Citizenship has always been on the long form, it is only about the more widely used short form.
    2. Citizenship was on the short form for decades thru the 1950 census. It was removed for the 1960 census.

By Edith Roberts on Feb 15, 2019 at 6:47 am

For the Los Angeles Times, David Savage reports that “[t]he Supreme Court meets behind closed doors [today] to weigh a question that could shape the political power of California for the decade ahead[:] At issue is the Trump administration’s plan to ask all households for the first time since 1950 whether occupants are U.S. citizens.”

Guess that’s why RBG is said to be there … behind closed doors?

        1. I agree with you…I don’t think Justices would lie about the matter.

However, if at the last minute, her Clerk (I’m referring to TOP clerk, not someone making copies of briefs)
said that RBG was unable to come… but had instructed Clerk to listen in. or some other similar scenario..

In that instance, I see no reason why the Justices would at the end of the day report that she had indeed not appeared.

But then, I’m VERY skeptical and have probably read too much Agatha Christie and Elizabeth George.

          1. I think IF she showed up, it would be a HUGE DEAL–I mean no one’s seen her for what 70 days? So if she was really there, they would have taken a photo –see? here she is–even if she was in a wheelchair or bundled up–they would have released a photo to dispel rumors…so I am still highly suspicious…

they said she would be back Tuesday–so everyone anticipated camping out to get a photo then…today was a surprise–they caught everyone off guard and come Tuesday they can say she’s not feeling well again…

Yes! They are honorable men, and they would not put their careers and reputations in jeopardy. Politically (because all the justices are human and have political views), what would be their motive for cooperating with a scheme to keep a liberal justice on the court?

  4. I spend quite a bit of time driving as part of my job. I was thinking today about what all the left has tried to take from our society….prayer, our flag, our history, landmarks, and statues.

It occurred to me that they are also trying to steal the joy of COLOR from our lives. Think of any color, and there will be a negative connotation that directly links back to the left…

    Black… BLM, Antifa
    White… Kay K. Kaye
    Yellow… Yellow stream media
    Red… Red diaper babies
    Blue… Demoncrat color
    Green… Soylent, GND
    Brown… “migrants”
    Orange…”cheeto”, Orange Man Bad
    Purple… signal for revolution
    Pink… Pussy hats
    Rainbow… LGBTQXYZETC

This is sad. Colors are part of the beauty of life. The meanings and association should evoke positive feelings, not dread.

I remember when the donkey was red, the elephant was blue, pink meant spring flowers, green was new leaves, and the rainbow was God’s promise.

We need to take back our color wheel 🤔

    2. When Lenin’s wing of the Russian Communists were in the minority, they invented the name “Bolsheviks” for themselves, meaning “majority party”, and stuck their (majority) opponents with the name “Mensheviks” (“minority party”).

The Mensheviks were stupid enough to go along with it, rather than insist on the truth right away. And they therefore went the way of the Mensheviks, as Lenin took over the Party, and then the country.

Bolsheviks also grabbed the color red as their own symbol, since red is the favorite color of most people in Russian culture, and the word “red” (“krasnaya”) also means “beautiful”, as we see in place names like that of the famous “Beautiful Square” in the heart of Moscow.

The association you rightly note of blue in this country with the Dims, and red with Republicans, only goes back, in my recollection, as far as the 2000 Bush/Gore presidential election. That was the year of the pooled media exit polls and analysis, which was a fake news mechanism unsuccessfully ginned up that year to gaslight the electorate into a Gore victory.

I remember looking at the televised election maps, which, uniquely in that year, all the networks shared.

I was astonished and indignant to see blue used as the marker for Gore, whose tuition at elite private schools had been paid for with the pieces of silver his treacherous father, Sen. Albert Gore, Sr., had been paid by Soviet intelligence to betray his country.

And that little Bush, who had flown military planes in the national guard, and whose father old Bush had been a naval aviator fished out of the Pacific after being downed in a combat zone, was symbolized by red, the color normally associated with Communism.

It was an historic reversal of symbolism, and it was not an accident. In American culture, most people’s favorite color is blue. And this was shortly after the Great Renaming, when Reagan’s victories over Communism had forced the Soviets into a carefully planned and executed strategic retreat, usually misnamed “the collapse of the Soviet Union “.

In that era, the credentialled “experts” in the West and their confederates in the YSM were pleased to call the farthest Left of Soviet Politburo members, the hardest core Marxists to be found on the planet, “conservatives”!

No, the new colors and names were no accident, and were a repeat of the dishonest media strategy used by Lenin in 1917, just adjusted for the audience of American low-information voters.

And the Bush dynasty, both little and old, were, of course, happy to go along, just like the Mensheviks of yore.

      1. You touched on several historical things here and were spot on with respect to every single one of them (including the Russian words for “read” and “beautiful”). It was once alleged that the “challenging” party in a presidential race always got “red” from the networks but I knew then and now that wasn’t true; Reagan was blue in 1980 and I remember the network talking heads on election night complaining that the big map behind them looked like a swimming pool since every state west of the Mississippi except Hawaii had gone for Reagan. (Now that was a landslide, but it pales next to the one four years later!)

  5. This is why I don’t like Barr:

“On the assault weapon front, the proposal before us is the DeConcini amendment. And I think … I would support both the Brady Bill waiting period and the DeConcini [semi-auto ban] amendment, provided that they were parts of a broader and more comprehensive crime bill that included … very tough provisions on the use of firearms in crimes and illegal purchase and trading in firearms…

Barr endorsed both the Brady Check portion of the Brady Bill and the semi-auto ban, although he did express a preference for magazine bans: “I would prefer a limitation on the clip [sic] size.”

“And where does Barr get his authority for such things? I can tell you it isn’t in the US Constitution. He would usurp that authority.”

  6. “Editor’s Note: If Monica Witt indeed is guilty of what she is accused of, she should be eating bullets in front of a firing squad.

Aside from terrorism, another national security involving Islam is that converts become potential recruits not only for terror groups, but for enemy states.

    1. Folks, please remember that it’s the German “DIPLOMATS”, NOT the German people celebrating. The “Diplomats” all belong to the deep state, sad to say. And Merde-kel will have a lot of explaining to do when the tariffs (for helping out/buying from Iran) take effect. That will KILL the car industry here, and will cause a LOT of hurt in south Germany. Oddly enough, north Germany, where all the libtards sit and play with unicorns, “green” energy, windmills, and sabotaging coal mining, there is almost NO manufacturing, and the states up their benefit from the taxes placed on south Germany.

  8. An audit of absentee ballots suggests fraud may have occurred in one of the closest House races in the country, The Daily Signal has learned.

Democrat Xochitl Torres Small squeaked by Republican Yvette Herrell in the final results of the Nov. 6 election.

On election night, Herrell declared victory in the race to represent New Mexico’s 2nd Congressional District. But as more votes were counted, Torres Small secured the win.

The roughly 3,500-vote victory for Torres Small—out of about 200,000 cast in the southern New Mexico district—relied heavily on absentee ballots from Doña Ana County, the largest county in the district, including the Las Cruces area.

The liberal Left continue to push their radical agenda against American values. The good news is there is a solution. Find out more >>

A new audit report obtained by The Daily Signal alleges a “concerted effort” to push for absentee votes where New Mexico voter ID laws are not enforced. It also points to potential fraud in applying for absentee ballots, and says a significant number of absentee ballots were time-stamped after the 7 p.m. deadline election night.

The report was prepared for the losing Herrell campaign by Full Compliance Consulting LLC and Herrell campaign lawyer Carter B. Harrison.

Herrell’s campaign is not contesting the outcome of the 2018 contest, but sought the review based on its concerns that extra votes appeared to pour in.

Torres Small spokeswoman Jennifer Lee did not respond to phone and email inquiries from The Daily Signal for this story.

Torres Small, 34, who was sworn in Jan. 3, replaced retiring Rep. Steve Pearce, a Republican who was re-elected by 26 points in 2016.

The House seat has been held by a Republican for all but one term since 1968.

Donald Trump, the Republican nominee for president, won the district by 10 points over Democrat Hillary Clinton in 2016.

The report says the consulting firm reviewed about 12,000 requests for absentee ballots, 8,577 outer envelopes for absentee ballots, and hundreds of rejected applications from Doña Ana County.

“There were not enough irregularities in Dona Ana County alone to alter our race (though local races could have been altered),” Harrison, the Herrell campaign lawyer, told The Daily Signal in a written response. “But if other counties were to be found to have similar irregularities, the race certainly could have been altered by them.”

Paylesss ShoeSource is shuttering all of its 2,100 remaining stores in the U.S. and Puerto Rico, joining a list of iconic names like Toys R Us and Bon-Ton that have been shuttered in the last year.

The Topeka, Kansas-based chain said Friday it will hold liquidation sales starting Sunday and wind down its e-commerce operations. All stores will remain open until at least the end of March and the majority will remain open until May.

The debt-burdened chain filed for Chapter 11 bankruptcy protection in April 2017, closing hundreds of stores as part of its reorganization.

At the time, it had over 4,400 stores in more than 30 countries. It remerged from restructuring four months later with about 3,500 stores and eliminated more than $435 million in debt.

“WRSP reports that Illinois’ red flag law went into effect on January 1, 2019. They also have a 72-hour waiting period for gun purchases, licensing for gun owners, and universal background checks. None of the gun control prevented Martin from entering Henry Pratt Company and opening fire.”

  14. “Ukrainian comedian Vladimir Zelenskiy, who plays the president of Ukraine on a TV show, appears to have pulled into the lead in the actual presidential election contest.

The latest poll shows Zelenskiy with a commanding nine-point lead over incumbent President Petro Poroshenko, who in turn leads the former favorite in the race, former Prime Minister Yulia Tymoshenko, by two points.

The Associated Press on Thursday cited a Kiev International Institute of Sociology poll that put the race at Zelenskiy 27 percent, Poroshenko 18 percent, and Tymoshenko 16 percent, with a 3.3 percent margin of error. The election will be held on March 31.

This was not the first poll to show Zelenskiy as a serious contender in the race and possibly the frontrunner. The 41-year-old Jewish comedian has 20 years of experience in stand-up comedy but none whatsoever in elective politics. He is not running as a joke; he presents himself as an outsider with a “fresh face” who wants to clean up government corruption, somewhat in the mold of recently-elected President Nayib Bukele of El Salvador. Some observers have also compared his anti-establishment style and appeal to voters disgusted by the current system with Donald Trump.”

    1. ROFLMAO – from the above article:

“Servant of the People” can be seen in the United States on Netflix. Most of the episodes have also been uploaded to YouTube, which added greatly to Zelenskiy’s social media following in Ukraine, although only some of the YouTube videos are translated into English. Some of it would be considered problematic if Zelenskiy was running for office in the United States unless he joined the Democrat Party and ran in Virginia.”
